Junior Driver M Johnson admitted a charge of excessive use of the whip driving WHALE RIDER over the final stages. The JCA imposed a $300.00 fine.

ROMANITE - Amateur Driver D Branch momentarily dropped his feet from the sulky footrests when activating gear over the early stages of the run home.
SHARDON'S PEARL - over raced in the score up and continued to do so in the early and middle stages. Amateur Driver B Dickens was spoken to with regard to him carrying his whip in his mouth between the 500 metres and 200 metres.
ELLIOT DANIEL - no claims lodged.
SUNHAVEN BOSS - raced without cover from the 1000 metres. Weakened at the final bend.
 
Race 2 LOT 61 ISA THE GREAT HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
MALABAR SPUR - broke passing the 2000 metres and lost ground.
A GLASS OF TANQUERAY - trotted roughly over the final stages.
JIMMYS GIRL - weakened on the final bend.
LUNDQVIST - broke passing the 1350 metres losing its chance.
SAFFRON CASTLETON - three wide final 800 metres.
JOMO - fractious behind the barriers. Held up final bend.
OPAWA SPEED - three wide final 800 metres.
DANKE - broke at the start.
TE KOUKA BREEZE - fractious behind the barriers. Locked wheels with JOMO at the 900 metres. Raced wide and without cover from the 900 metres.

KNIGHTS DESIRE - inconvenienced by a tiring runner inside the 500 metres.
MOSSDALE NIGEL - held up final bend. Hung inwards under pressure in the early stages of the run home.
MR MEGABUCKS - hung outwards in the middle stages. Weakened near the 400 metres.
GEBO - weakened near the 400 metres.
FATHER FRANK - over raced in the middle stages. When spoken to regarding the performance of her gelding Trainer K Kearns explained the gelding had taken natural improvement from each of its three runs this campaign and derived considerable benefit from the application of spreaders which the gelding had raced in for the first time tonight.
 
Race 4 LOT 103 CRACKABRIE & LOT 16 CREATOR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JUICE BROGDEN - Driver N Chilcott reported that she did not activate the sliding blinds.
SMACKWATER JACK - when spoken to regarding the performance of his gelding Driver J Stormont explained that his gelding had been unsuited to the tempo of the race and then had difficulty making ground over the latter stages in the slushy conditions.
LADY MADONNA - when spoken to regarding the filly's performance Driver Z Butcher explained that despite his filly not being suited to the tempo of the race he was disappointed with the her efforts over the final stages. A post race veterinary examination showed the filly to have a slow recovery rate with blood tests being recommended. Stewards will follow up in the coming days with trainer B Purdon.
RASCHKER - broke at the start and lost considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Held up final bend.
JOEMARO - over raced in the middle stages causing Driver K Marshall some difficulty.
ROBERT THE BRUCE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the final straight.
 
Race 5 LOT 134 CRACKA DAWN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MY GENERATION - held up final bend. Driver D Butcher was shown the video coverage of his drive with 500 metres to run when he shifted outward placing a runner in tight quarters.
G B MAVERICK - raced greenly rounding the first bend breaking for a stride.
WONDER WHY - when racing under pressure passing the 500 metres was momentarily placed in restricted room inside TACT OLLIE by MY GENERATION which was shifting ground outward.
BUBBLES O'LEARY - hung inwards in the early stages. Raced keenly into the first bend and had to be steadied. Raced roughly near the 1100 metres and lost ground after making contact with the sulky of TACT OLLIE when the pace eased in the one out line. Raced wide final 1100 metres.
BROTHER IN ARMS - raced three wide from the 1200 metres.
CIRCLES - when spoken to regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of this horse Driver S Phelan advised that the horse had raced below his expectations. The connections undertook to notify Stewards of anything that may come to light in the following days that may help to explain the run.

LIVADIA - held up final bend.
HARPER FRANCO - hung inwards in the early stages.
BETTOR BE SMOOTH - broke in the early stages having to be restrained. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
REAL CYCLONE - raced three wide from the 1400 metres.
YOUBETTERYOUBET - held up final bend, early and middle stages of the run home.
IDEALISTIC - held up final bend, early and middle stages of the run home.
WYNBERG SALLY - held up final bend.
LAMBROS - raced three wide from the 1100 metres.
THE DALI EXPRESS - broke racing into the first bend. Raced three wide from the 1400 metres.
 
Race 7 LOT 118 HENRY HU & LOT 81 THE BLUE BEAT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
STAND SURE - weakened on the final bend.
JONAH JONES - Trainer S Dickson was charged a $25 colour fee. Held up rounding the final bend and was shifted wider on the track to obtain clear running passing the 150 metres.
VAN MARA - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
TOOT TOOT - raced four wide from the 700 metres.
ELDOLAR - Driver M Johnson advised he dropped his whip passing the 100 metres.
MILLVIEW SIENNA - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
LOLA JONES - raced four wide with cover from the 700 metres.
 
Race 8 LOT 69 YOU REALLY GOT ME JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR - broke in the early stages losing considerable ground. Again broke near the 1600 metres and again approaching the 1000 metres losing its chance.
MY SKY - broke for a short distance in the early stages of the score up. Weakened passing the 700 metres.
TERESKOVA - held up for a short distance on the final bend
ACOUGARZSUN - broke briefly on the final bend.
SEXY REXY - Trainer A Donnelly advised Stewards that the removable deafeners malfunctioned on the gelding. The Trainer was found not to be at fault. Junior Driver M Johnson was charged under Rule 869(2)(a) for using his whip excessively on SEXY REXY over the final stages. The charge was admitted and the JCA suspended his Junior Drivers Licence up to and including 5 March 2017 (3 days).
