Race 4 - STONEBLEND CONTRACTING / OAMARU VET CENTRE TROT
Stewards questioned driver B Orange regarding the apparent lack of vigour shown when driving ITS ELVIS in the home straight. Mr Orange stated that the gelding had trotted roughly throughout the run home at its most previous start at Forbury on the 2nd of February and on that occasion was unable to be placed under any significant pressure. Mr Orange further added that the gelding had trotted roughly for the majority of the running in this event and was mindful of its tendency to gallop when placed under pressure. Stewards noted Mr Orange's explanation.

Race 1 BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TABS & TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GERALD - Trainer/driver S Blake reported that she was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
JACKALACK SUE - broke and knuckled over when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres.
BETTOR BACKIM - held up through the early stages of the home straight.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT - Amateur driver N Munro admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) the particulars being that he used his whip excessively over the final 400 metres with the JCA imposing a fine of $300.
FRANCO CALIPH - held up throughout the home straight and was unable to be fully tested by driver R Sissons.
EASTWOOD CHIEFTAIN - held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight until near the 150 metres.
REDMARO - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the home straight.
LIVING LEGEND - raced wide in the early stages.
 
Race 2 WJ (BILL) PUDDY MEMORIAL TROT Video  Video 
MADABOY - broke shortly after the start and again on a number of occasions during the running.
WHATABOYZ - veered outwards sharply when racing greenly near the 2400 metres resulting in a number of runners being checked. Warning placed against racing manners record.
EDEN CREEK - checked 2400 metres.
PARADISE SPUR - checked 2400 metres. Broke near the 1800 metres.
CRUSHER COLLINS - broke near the 900 metres losing its chance.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - inconvenienced 2400 metres.
WHATASISTA - broke shortly after the start. Inconvenienced 2400 metres trotting roughly for a short distance. Broke rounding the bend near the 2000 metres. Trotted roughly when weakening near the 300 metres.
CASTLETON TUI - proved reluctant to step away from its mark being inconvenienced shortly after. Over-raced in the middle stages.
ROAMING - proved reluctant to step away from its mark and when doing so shifted inwards inconveniencing CASTLETON TUI. Broke entering the first bend.
Following this event the official track conditions were downgraded to Slow.
 
Race 3 HOPE AND SONS/WAIKOUAITI AUTO & ENGINEERING HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
MONARCHY INVASION - raced wide for a short distance near the 2000 metres when racing to the outside of SARAH PALIN. After reviewing the films it was established that MONARCHY INVASION was not progressing in a forward manner when shifted wider by SARAH PALIN. Accordingly no further action was deemed necessary. Trotted roughly and broke near the 700 metres losing its chance. Trainer R Jenkins advised that he would reassessing the future of the gelding as a racing proposition.
ELLA ABBE - when questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised that in his opinion the mare had failed to see out the 2600 metres and in addition had failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
LUCKY PAT'S SON - broke briefly at the start.
HUSTLE HILL - broke when being restrained shortly after the start losing considerable ground and eventually being pulled up by driver N Williamson.
MR MAJESTIC - trotted roughly when shifted wider on the track near the 350 metres. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer A Malcolmson stated that the gelding had received a tough run when obliged to sit parked at its most recent start and attributed the improvement to the economical run received on this occasion.
BOBBINS - lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
INSIGNIFICANT - inconvenienced shortly after the start when forced to shift wider to avoid the breaking HUSTLE HILL.
 
Race 4 GOLDEN FLEECE HOTEL/MOTEL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DELIGHTFUL DANI - held up throughout the home straight and was unable to be fully tested by driver D Dunn.
GOLDILOCH - weakened inside the final 250 metres and was not persevered with thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MAGICAL MARN - improved wide from the 600 metres. Hung inwards when placed under pressure near the 350 metres.
OKAINS BAY - hampered momentarily entering the first bend.
TINTED BOYZ - paced roughly during the latter stages of the score up and was slightly out of position at dispatch.
JAMIES BAD BOY - hung inwards and broke shortly after the start. Hung inwards rounding the final bend.
LIVING GLORY - when questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox reported that in his opinion the mare was unsuited to the prevailing track conditions.
BLAZING VC - paced roughly passing the winning post on the first occasion and when shifting outwards entering the first bend hampered OKAINS BAY. Driver R Jenkins was cautioned to exercise greater care.
THE JANDEL MACHINE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the home straight prior to being angled outwards near the 150 metres.

The start of this event was delayed 7 minutes due to DREAM BIG requiring a replacement sulky.
PRESIDENT ROYDON - trotted roughly in the early stages before breaking near the 2400 metres. Broke when being improved forward near the 950 metres losing ground. Driver B Barclay reported that in his opinion the gelding had failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
GORILLA PLAYBOY - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight until shifting inwards to utilise the passing lane near the 200 metres.
TRIAL SEPARATION - trotted roughly rounding the first bend. Trotted roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres.
DREAM BIG - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
SUNNIVUE SADONA - trotted roughly over the final 150 metres.
PYRAMID MUSTANG - hung inwards through the middle stages.
AGNES BROWN - broke shortly after the start. Broke when placed under pressure passing the 100 metres.
 
Race 6 TIPPLERS BAR & CAFE DUNEDIN PACE Video  Video 
SMOOTH N EASY - weakened from the 500 metres.
MISS FANDANGO - began awkwardly losing ground.
LIMOSO - inconvenienced for a distance passing the 600 metres when trailing the weakening PURE GRIT.
PURE GRIT - weakened from the 600 metres.
ASK YOURSELF - broke at the start.
ASSET CONTROL - paced roughly in the early stages. Hung inwards under pressure passing the 250 metres having to be straightened.
MIDNIGHT VC - began awkwardly. Paced roughly in the early stages and near the 1350 metres attempted to jump the crossing losing several lengths. Warning placed on racing manners record.
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY - broke at the start. Weakened from the 700 metres.
 
Race 7 NORA O'CONNELL MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - trotted roughly in the early stages. Broke when placed under pressure near the 100 metres.
HOLDON TOYASPURS - weakened from the 600 metres.
DUSKY EYRE - inconvenienced near the 500 metres when having to shift outwards to avoid a tiring runner. Hung inwards when placed under pressure passing the 150 metres momentarily inconveniencing BRADS KENNY.
BEAR'S REST - held up in the early stages of the home straight until near the 200 metres. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
BRADS KENNY - began awkwardly. Inconvenienced briefly passing the 150 metres.
OCH AYE THE NOO - hung inwards rounding the first bend. Held up in the early stages of the home straight until being angled outwards near the 250 metres.
FEATHER BOYZ - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
HEARD THE WHISPER - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground and effectively all chance.
SPRINGBANK EDEN - improved wide through the middle stages.

SCOOB OPERATOR - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight until the 200 metres.
SILVER DALE - when questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson reported that in his opinion the gelding had failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
FRANCO TALLIS - weakened from the 600 metres.
TAKE A GAMBLE - raced wide in the early stages.
REGAL GRIN - hung inwards when being improved to a leading position near the 1500 metres.
BIG SMOKE - hung inwards throughout the score up and paced roughly on a number of occasions. Raced wide in the early stages.
AIDAN JUNIOR - hung inwards when wide though the early stages proving difficult to be restrained. Paced roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres. Driver A Suddaby reported in his opinion the gelding was feeling the effects of recent racing. Trainer K Barclay confirmed that it would be her intention to spell the gelding.
ONE OFF - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
PARTING GESTURE - paced roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres.
MATAI JETSTAR - raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages until near the 900 metres. Paced roughly near the 150 metres.
MADDISONS DESIRE - raced wide from the 900 metres being inclined to hang inwards rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox reported that in his opinion the filly had failed to handle the slow nature of today's track conditions.
 
Race 9 LLENOCO/RICOH JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
THE HIGH ROLLER - inconvenienced near the 1100 metres when trailing the breaking PAT CAMPBELL. Driver M Anderson was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner in which he used his whip in the home straight.
PAT CAMPBELL - broke near the 1200 metres with a warning placed against the mares racing manners record.
NO MORE CHANGE - when questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance driver S Tomlinson reported that in her opinion the mare was unsuited by the prevailing track conditions. Miss Tomlinson further advised that the mare had made abnormal breathing noises during the running with a subsequent veterinary examination revealing no obvious abnormalities.
IDEALISTIC LASS - driver J Harrington reported that the mare had hung throughout.
QUICK NICK - raced wide in the early stages.
JERRY FITZ - hung inwards during the score-up and was out of position at the dispatch.
LIVE TO TELL - weakened from the 1600 metres.
Trainers G & J Knight have advised Stewards that following its performance at Waikouaiti on Tuesday it was found that IDEALISTIC LASS was suffering from a foot infection which is now being treated.

EXTREME SPARK - held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight.
FIRST SON - held up throughout the home straight.
ZULU COURAGE - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
RAPHOE - proved fractious prior to the start with the gelding rearing shortly after the start had been effected, losing considerable ground. Warning placed against standing start record.
DALNESS MAC - improved wide from the 800 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson reported that in his opinion the mare had failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
SCOTTY'S IMAGE - held up throughout the home straight and was unable to be fully tested by driver D Dunn.
CAESAR'S QUEST - improved wide through the early stages.
JUST SAY GO - lay inwards under pressure throughout the home straight.
