Race 1 BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TABS & TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
THE EDGE OF REASON - raced roughly in the early stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room through the early and middle stages of the home straight until near the 100 metres.
GERALD - held up in the early stages of the home straight until near the 150 metres.
SEDUCE ME - held up in the early stages of the home straight and when shifting inwards into a marginal run near the 250 metres struck several track markers. Amateur driver A White was cautioned to ensure that his sulky does not protrude inside the marker line.
CAESAR ROCKS - raced wide in the early stages prior to being improved forward to a leading position near the 1000 metres. Hung outwards rounding the final bend and through the early stages of the home straight.
JACKALACK SUE - paced roughly near the 200 metres when placed in restricted room between CAESAR ROCKS which hung outwards and EM AY which shifted inwards marginally.
BETTOR BACKIM - improved wide from the 1200 metres.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT - paced roughly during the score up. Stable representative M Williamson reported they had been disappointed with the geldings efforts in the home straight given its recent consistent form however could offer no tangible explanation.
EM AY - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
EASTWOOD CHIEFTAIN - raced wide in the early stages.
REDMARO - paced roughly passing the 200 metres. Amateur driver W Frost admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) the particulars being that he used his whip excessively over the final 400 metres with the JCA imposing a fine of $300.
LIVING LEGEND - held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight until near the 100 metres.

MAJESTIC PEAK - proved reluctant to step away from its mark losing considerable ground. Broke shortly after the start. Broke passing the 1200 metres when over-racing.
MAN OF CHANGE - broke shortly after the start and continued to do so for a considerable distance.
MADABOY - broke passing the 800 metres and again near the 200 metres.
MATAI KATIE - broke when taking evasive action to avoid WHATASISTA near the 200 metres.
JANUCCI GIRL - hung outwards when weakening passing the 700 metres.
PURE EMOTION - broke shortly after the start.
ONE YANKEE GINGA - trainer/driver R Holmes reported that he did not activate the removable hood due to having the field covered.
EDEN CREEK - inconvenienced at the start when trailing MAJESTIC PEAK which proved reluctant to step away. Driver T Quate reported that in his opinion the mare was unsuited by the second row draw and would benefit from the experience.
LA VETTE - broke shortly after the start and again on a number of occasions during the running losing its chance. Co-trainer G Knight advised that he would no longer be persevering with the mare as a racing proposition from his stable.
SUNNY GLENIS - broke shortly after the start. Broke briefly passing the 100 metres. Authorisation of dividends were withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
WHATASISTA - proved fractious prior to the start beginning awkwardly. Steadied near the 700 metres when awkwardly positioned behind a breaking runner. Trotted roughly and broke near the 200 metres hampering a trailing runner.
 
Race 3 OTAGO FARM MACHINERY/GROENEVELD LTD FILLIES & MARES MOB PACE Video  Video 
SKYLLA - paced roughly for a short distance near the 1650 metres. Hung outwards rounding the final bend. Driver M Williamson advised that the filly had hung outwards throughout the event.
LIGHT YEAR FRANCO - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
OKAINS BAY - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight until near the 150 metres.
ALL BLING - raced wide in the early stages. Locked sulky stays briefly with PEGASUS MERRILY over the concluding stages.
SHOW BUSINESS - improved wide from the 900 metres.
CIRCUIT BREAKER - paced roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres.
VARIABLE - weakened from the 500 metres and was not persevered with from thereafter. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
TILLY PATRON - steadied and broke near the 500 metres when awkwardly positioned behind PEGASUS MERRILY.
PEGASUS MERRILY - shifted inwards over the concluding stages locking sulky stays briefly with ALL BLING. Junior driver M Hurrell was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner in which he used his whip in the home straight.
GOLDILOCH - when questioned regarding the performance driver R Houghton advised that the mare had received a bump during the running and had switched off thereafter proving disappointing when placed under pressure.
 
Race 4 STONEBLEND CONTRACTING / OAMARU VET CENTRE TROT Video  Video 
SPRINGFIELD EYRE - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
DUCHESS GRACE - broke passing the 200 metres.
SARAH PALIN - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
GLENIS MARIE - broke at the start. Declared unruly for standing starts at the request of the connections.
WANDERING STAR - raced wide in the early stages prior to being improved forward to leading position near the 1100 metres.
PRESIDENT ROYDON - trotted roughly in the early stages.
MISSIE CASTLETON - broke when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres eventually being pulled up by driver S McNally.
SUNNIVUE SADONA - lay inwards under pressure throughout the home straight.
LARCH- broke at the start.
ITS ELVIS - Stewards will speak with driver B Orange in the coming days regarding the manner in which he drove through the early and middle stages of the home straight.
PYRAMID MUSTANG - held up early rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight until near the 200 metres.
 
Race 5 KEEP IT CLEAN/WAIKOUAITI AUTO ENGINEERING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ZIMFANDEL - held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight.
THE JANDEL MACHINE - hung inwards shortly after the start locking wheels with KING SIZE resulting in both runners losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future mobile barrier events.
STAR RULER - hung inwards and raced greenly entering the first bend. Paced roughly when placed under pressure near the 200 metres. Driver M Williamson reported that the gelding had paced roughly throughout the event.
GO GETTA - inclined to hang inwards when becoming held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
AIDAN JUNIOR - held up throughout the home straight going through to the line without being fully tested by driver A Suddaby.
SCOOB OPERATOR - hampered shortly after the start when racing to the inside of KING SIZE which was forced inwards by the breaking THE JANDEL MACHINE. Steadied entering the first bend when crowded for room to the inside of SOLENTO (R McIlwrick) which shifted inwards. Driver R McIlwrick was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted ground.
KING SIZE - locked wheels with THE JANDEL MACHINE shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Authorisation of dividends were withheld until Stewards had spoken to driver J Young and reviewed the films to ensure that any interference had been incurred after the start of the race.
MATAI JETSTAR - hung inwards for a distance passing the 300 metres.
AVEROSS SPITFIRE - hung inwards through the early stages.
 
Race 6 CUSTOM FENCING / MAINLAND POULTRY HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
MOA BONES - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground and effectively all chance.
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight until the 100 metres.
LAVROS TEXAS - trotted roughly and broke passing the 100 metres.
SUNDONS FLYER - held up through the early stages of the home straight until the 200 metres. Driver B Orange reported that he did not activate the removable hood due to having the field covered.
BOURBON AND DRY - broke at the start and failed to settle losing considerable ground. Broke on several occasions throughout the running when well back and out of contention.
DUSKY EYRE - paced shortly after the start necessitating driver D Dunn to check the gelding in an attempt to regain its proper gait. Paced on a number of occasions when well back and out of contention.
MONTY PYTHON - raced wide in the early stages. When spoken to regarding his decision to surrender the lead to the improving SPRINGBANK EDEN leaving the back straight driver M Williamson explained that it had been his intention to make the trailing SUNDONS FLYER be shifted back one position and therefore give him a considerable advantage over the horse he considered to be his biggest danger at that stage of the race. He added this had been nullified by SPRINGBANK EDEN shifting outwards in the run home meaning the passing lane had become available to SUNDONS FLYER. Stewards noted Mr Williamson's comments.
SPRINGBANK EDEN - slow to begin. Hung outwards rounding the final bend and through the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 7 CENTRE CITY NEW WORLD / CLARKS JUNCTION HOTEL PACE Video  Video 
MISS FANDANGO - lay outwards in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
RAINY RIVER - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room for a distance passing the 250 metres.
ASK YOURSELF - fractious prior to the start rearing on a number of occasions. Warning placed against standing start record.
ZULU COURAGE - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight until passing the 200 metres.
GRACE BURNS - paced roughly in the early stages. Lay inwards under pressure passing the 150 metres having to be straightened.
CELEBRITY EASTON - raced wide in the early and middle stages.
ASSET CONTROL - raced wide through the early stages before improving to a leading position near the 1000 metres. Paced roughly passing the 200 metres.
LIMOSO - raced wide in the early stages.
DELIGHTFUL DANI - broke at the start.
NADIA BAY - lay inwards throughout the home straight.
 
Race 8 LLENNOCO/LEITHFIELD NURSERY/JOHN MAC MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
IDEALISTIC LASS - steadied near the 250 metres when attempting a marginal run between MIGHTY EMPIRE and SELENA FRANCO which simultaneously shifted ground inwards. Held up over the final 200 metres and went to the line without being fully tested by driver S Tomlinson.
AYMAR - junior driver M Anderson reported that once obtaining the lead in the early stages the mare had commenced to over-race which had taken its toll over the concluding stages when placed under pressure.
PASSION FLOWER - hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the first bend. Held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight.
PAT CAMPBELL - broke near the 1100 metres losing its chance.
MACHJAGGER - half-carted for a distance passing the 1200 metres, with Junior driver K Butt being cautioned regarding this.
HUNTER BROMAC - improved wide from the 700 metres.
MAC TODDY - raced wide for the majority of the event.
ALEXY - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 9 MORNINGTON TAVERN WAIKOUAITI CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
EARTHBOUND - broke near the 1700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
GLENFERRIE CLASSIC - broke briefly at the start. When questioned regarding the performance of GLENFERRIE CLASSIC driver S Ottley advised that despite having to work hard through the middle stages the mare had proved disappointing when placed under pressure. Miss Ottley added that it would be the stables intention to freshen the mare prior to resuming racing.
ACOLYTE - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home until near the 150 metres.
JOEY MAGUIRE - held up through the early stages of the home straight and when being struck with the whip near the 150 metres paced roughly.
CLASINA MARIA - broke briefly at the start. Hung inwards rounding the first bend. Shifted outwards and locked sulky stays with KOTARE YAEL near the 100 metres. Driver J Young admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) the particulars being that she used her whip in an excessive manner over the final 400 metres with the JCA imposing a fine of $300.
KOTARE YAEL - locked sulky stays with CLASINA MARIA near the 100 metres. When questioned regarding the performance KOTARE YAEL driver J Dunn reported that circumstances did not permit him to drive the gelding in a prominent position from its 10 metre handicap which in his opinion is its preferred racing style. Mr Dunn further added that when placed under pressure the gelding had proved disappointing over the concluding stages.
STATHAM - swung sideways and broke as the start was effected. When questioned regarding the performance of STATHAM trainer/driver N Williamson reported that the gelding had felt lethargic throughout the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
COSTA DEL MAGNIFICO - raced wide over the final 900 metres.
 
Race 10 STRATH TAIERI RUGBY CLUB/BEAKS SHEEP HANDLING & TAILING TROT Video  Video 
HENGROEN - had difficulty obtaining clear racing in the early stages of the home straight. Broke inside the final 50 metres and continued to do so for the remainder of the event. Stewards lodged a protest pursuant to Rule 870(5) when being lapped on by PRINCE GEORGE and DREAM BIG, with HENGROEN being subsequently relegated from 4th to 6th placing.
SHPEEDY - trainer A Stuart was issued with a $25 colour fee. Broke shortly after the start losing ground.
TRIAL SEPARATION - broke near the 700 metres.
YGRITTE - when questioned regarding the improved performance of YGRITTE trainer A Hoffman could offer no tangible explanation other than having made minor gear adjustments to the mares gear namely a gaiting strap.
HUSTLE HILL - trotted roughly when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres. Raced three-wide passing the 1200 metres when racing to the inside of TRIAL SEPARATION (S Clarke) which shifted outwards. After reviewing films it was established that TRIAL SEPARATION had commenced its outwards movement prior to HUSTLE HILL reaching its wheel with no further action deemed necessary. Broke near the 800 metres.
LUCKY PAT'S SON - trainer G Woodhouse was fined $50 pursuant to Rule 865(1) for the late notification of blinds. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 11 SKEVINGTON CONTRACTING/PETER LYON SHEARING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TINTED BOYZ - held up in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
FRANCO TALLIS - held up early and middle stages of the home straight until the 200 metres.
MAGICAL MARN - broke when negotiating the crossing near the 1350 metres. Paced roughly for a short distance near the 900 metres when there was an easing of the pace. Broke near the 350 metres losing its chance. Driver A Suddaby reported that in his opinion the gelding had been unsuited to the grass circuit and would be recommending to connections that gear changes be applied prior to its next start.
PALEFACE SIOUX - held up throughout the home straight.
BRING BACK BUCK - checked by BIG SMOKE prior to the start and subsequently declared a non-runner under Rule 213(1)(j). Broke near the 200 metres.
BIG SMOKE - hung inwards throughout the score up hampering BRING BACK BUCK (A Milne) which was crowded and checked prior to the start. After reviewing video footage Stewards were satisfied that BRING BACK BUCK had been denied a fair start and pursuant to Rule 213(1)(j) was declared a non-runner. Warning placed against the mobile barrier record. Broke shortly after the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the home straight.
COOKY - broke over the concluding stages with a final warning being placed against the racing manners record of the gelding.
REGAL GRIN - raced wide in the early and middle stages.

RETURNTOROCKNROLL - when questioned regarding the performance driver J Dunn stated that in his opinion the mare had failed to see out the 2600 metres and in future would be restricted to a shorter distance.
EXTREME SPARK - fractious prior to the start resulting in a delay.
MILEHIGH MAGIC - broke at the start shifting inwards abruptly and hampering GAME CHANGER. Warning placed against standing start record. Held up through the early and middle stages of the home straight until near the 200 metres.
ALANTIC - broke when being restrained near the 1200 metres. Warning placed against racing manners record.
GAME CHANGER - checked at the start. Removed from the unruly for future standing start events.
RAPHOE - paced roughly near the 350 metres.
TUBBY JIM - lay inwards throughout the home straight.
DALNESS MAC - swung sideways abruptly as the start was effected severely hampering CAESAR'S QUEST. Warning placed against standing start record.
CAESAR'S QUEST - severely hampered by DALNESS MAC at the start resulting in driver C Thornley being dislodged from the sulky.
GROOMSMAN - hampered at the start. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer/driver H Hunter reported that the gelding had been suited to the grass circuit coupled with the drop-back in class from its previous start.
