Race 7 - MIKE PERO MORTGAGES TROT
Trainer A Ford has advised Stewards that following her run at Rangiora on Monday, TIME FOR DIAMONDS was found to be in season. Mr Ford further advised that in his opinion the mare was not suited to the firm nature of the track. TIME FOR DIAMONDS has had a brief freshener and will resume at Geraldine next weekend.
Race 9 - RANGIORA EQUINE SERVICES AMBERLEY CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
Trainer K Austin has advised Stewards that blood tests taken from BUSTER BRADY following its disappointing performance at Rangiora on Monday revealed that the gelding was suffering from dehydration which has since been treated.

Race 1 SBSR - PGG WRIGHTSON PREMIER YEARLING SALES MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
SUPERFAST MAGGIE - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.
THANK YOU - broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
PRESTISSIMO - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.
WELL DEFINED - broke shortly after the start. Hung outwards under pressure throughout the final straight. Driver D Dunn spoken to regarding the manner in which he carried his whip through the middle stages.
SUNDEES SON - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Raced roughly passing the 200 metres and again over the final stages.
RACHMANINOV - hampered in the middle stages of the score up and was a short distance out of position at the start. Driver C Thornley was questioned as to whether his chances of a fair start had been prejudiced but reported they had not. Hung inwards under pressure leaving the final bend.
IMPERIAL WHIZ - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.
 
Race 2 SBSR - HAILES - DEVERY - MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RAH DE RAH - hampered near the 350 metres having to be steadied.
KIEL - held up for a short distance near the 200 metres. Trainer L McCormick issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the hopple carrier so as not to come adrift.
TUFFLITTLEROOSTER - held up rounding the final bend.
EXCEPTIONAL MAN - raced wide from the 1600 metres. Weakened near the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to be displaying a poor recovery with an elevated heart rate. The connections were advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG and a scope is required prior to completing one satisfactory trial.
SPEEDY MACH - over-raced in the middle stages. Broke passing the 400 metres after being encouraged with the reins. When spoken to regarding the seemingly disappointing performance, driver M Williamson advised that the gelding had choked down.
JOHNNY WHITE - raced wide from the 1500 metres. Hung inwards on the final bend and was steadied near the 350 metres to avoid the breaking SPEEDY MACH.
 
Race 3 SBSR - TITHER- WILLIAMS- NEVILL- ONE OVER LODGE MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
TROY CASTLETON - held up final bend and early stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver S McNally as to whether he could have made a better effort in the early stages to take up a more forwards position. Mr McNally explained this was the horse's first run behind the mobile and the gelding had hung outwards approaching the start point and in the early stages. He added the horse had only recently reached this grade and tonight's field represented a considerable rise in class than had previously been encountered and at this stage of its career did not feel it to be a prospect that suited being rushed in the early stages.
GIN RUMMY - raced wide in the early stages.
MADAM SPUR - hung inwards in the score up and despite the urgings of driver M Williamson was out of position at the start. Improved wide with cover near the 1150 metres. Weakened near the 500 metres. When spoken to regarding the mare's performance, driver M Williamson could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. The connections advised they would be continuing with the mare's racing programme.
FATAL REUNION - broke nearing the 2100 metres.
 
Race 4 SBSR - GILLAN - ZANE - GLENBROOK PARK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LET IT RIDE - broke briefly after 200 metres and lost ground.
REAL OBSESSION - over-raced in the middle stages.
SHADOWMAN - over-raced in the middle stages.
BLACK ART - .held up for a short distance near the 150 metres and had to shift inwards to obtain clear running.
MR KALYPSO - hung inwards rounding the final bend.
GRAND RAINBOW - hung outwards between the 800 metres and 600 metres. Weakened in the early stages of the run home. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance, driver T Williams expressed disappointment. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. The connections advised they would have their own vet examine the horse in the coming days and will notify Stewards if anything should come to light.
CLEAVER GREEN - hung inwards when improving three wide without cover near the 1100 metres.
 
Race 5 SBSR - MORTON - TURNER - SHARD FARMS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
KITURA - when spoken to regarding the performance, trainer K Barron explained the filly had been transported to Blenheim but had been scratched due to injury and therefore was fresh up tonight since the 7th of January. Taking into account the times this race was run in he was not overly disappointed with her efforts and felt she would derive considerable benefit from the run.
GLENFERRIE DUSTER - raced keenly when being restrained in the early stages. Had to be steadied near the 800 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of WANTED MAN which was shifting outwards.
GUNPOWDER - raced three wide throughout despite the efforts of driver J Curtin to take up a position closer to the pylons.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - out of position at the start. Driver J Dunn explained the gelding was striking a knee at this point of the race and throughout the straights during the running. Weakened near the 700 metres.
ARTICULIGHT - held up final bend. Further held up passing the 100 metres and had to shift ground to continue to improve.
WANTED MAN - raced fiercely in the middle stages. Raced roughly approaching the 1000 metres. Notwithstanding the racing manners of this gelding, driver S Golding was spoken to for the abrupt manner in which he shifted outwards near the 800 metres which caused GLENFERRIE DUSTER to be inconvenienced.
REAZA GRUNTER - over-raced middle stages.
 
Race 6 SBSR - DUNCRAIGEN - BAUCKE - BRYLEIGH LODGE FFA (MOBILE) Video  Video 
CULLEN WHO - over-raced when being unsuccessfully eased in an attempt to take a trail near the 1300 metres. Lay outwards leaving the final bend and throughout the run home.
C A PENNY - held up for clear racing room through the early and middle stages of the run home.
ALTA ORLANDO - hung in the score up and was out of position at the start. Continued to hang and race greenly during the running. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to have sharp molars with dentistry work to be completed in the coming days.
 
Race 7 SBSR - HAVETIME BREEDING - FANNY ALLEN TRUST MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
FOREVERMAN - crowded on the bend near the 1600 metres when taken inwards contacting track markers.
ARDITI - broke shortly before the start losing considerable ground.
BENCHMARK - lay outwards in the final straight. Driver D Dunn was reminded to correct his runners at the earliest opportunity.
CUDDLY JESS - broke briefly near the 300 metres.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY - broke with 300 metres to run when attempting to shift wider around a galloping runner.
YOUNG STRANGER - raced roughly near the 900 metres. Trotted roughly when under pressure and broke near the 400 metres.
BEAR'S REST - held up near the 350 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
MISSANDEI - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. Hung inwards when being taken forwards to lead near the 1600 metres crowding inside runner. Hung inwards leaving the final bend with driver C DeFilippi unable to extend the mare. Broke with 250 metres to run.
LAVROS JACK - broke in the score up losing its chance.
 
Race 8 SBSR - WATCH YOUR STEP - BEAUDIENE BREEDING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
STOP MEANS STOP - held up rounding the final bend.
BAILEYS ROCK - raced fiercely behind the mobile. Improved wide from the 1050 metres.
A G'S WHITE SOCKS - over-raced near the 1200 metres and shifted outwards when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of BAILEYS ROCK having to be heavily restrained by driver R May.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT - raced greenly near the 1600 metres when being restrained to take a covered position.
CURLIMORE - held up throughout the run home.
GOING TO CALIFORNIA - weakened near the 400 metres.
OUTTA SIGHT - late scratching at 6.45pm due to transport difficulties.
CABLE BEACH - out of position at the candy pole. Driver B Orange was issued with a warning.
ONE BIG FELLA - hampered near the 1100 metres and had to be steadied. Raced roughly passing the 900 metres losing ground.
QUEEN BEE BARDON - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
SUPERFECTA - reluctant to leave the pre-race circle and was well out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
 
Race 9 SBSR - GRANT ENTERPRISES - ARDEN LODGE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
IDLE MONKEY - was reluctant to address the barriers and as a result was slow away.
TORNADO VALLEY - hampered near the 150 metres.
HARRIET OF MOT - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home. Hampered near the 150 metres. Driver J Dunn was questioned regarding his decision to improve to the outside of MASTER LAVROS near the 100 metres when clear running was available to that horse's inside. As a consequence HARRIET OF MOT was held up over the final stages and not able to be fully tested. This enquiry was adjourned to give the matter further consideration.
HEY YO - reported by trainer J Harrington to be in season. Broke near the 250 metres when improving in the passing lane.
ARYA - broke at the start.
MASTER LAVROS - the required veterinary clearance was received.
 
Race 10 SBSR - BAIN - KNIGHT- CAMPBELL - TUAPEKA LODGE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HANDLEBAR HANK - raced greenly near the 1400 metres and was steadied for a short distance.
JACK HAMMER - paced roughly near the 1200 metres and was shifted wider by driver R May. Continued to race roughly over the final 700 metres and was not persevered with. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer T May in the coming days.
BIRD OF PARADISE - raced wide in the early stages.
CRACKAMOA - rein pricker removed prior to the start. Raced wide in the early stages.
JUST BEN - raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
Race 11 SBSR - O'CONNOR- PERKINS- SHAW- DENARIO BREEDING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CAMWELL PARK - when spoken to regarding the gelding's performance, driver B Butt explained the gelding had been unsuited to working hard in the early stages to take up a forwards position. He added that it was his intention in future to drive the horse in a more conservative manner.
MAJOR VIBES - shifted outwards in the early stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
GOT A BEAUTY - shifted inwards near the 100 metres. Driver R Close will be spoken to in the coming days regarding this.
MATRIKA - inconvenienced in the early stages, racing roughly for several strides in consequence. Sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 1600 metres and was retired from the event.
LIVING GLORY - held up final bend and early stages of the run home. Stewards will speak with driver J Cox in the coming days regarding an enquiry opened into his use of the whip over the final stages.
LORRETTA FRANCO - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.
HAVANA MOON - raced fiercely through the middle stages. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
GOTTA TICKET - raced wide from the 850 metres. Checked near the 100 metres having to be steadied by driver J Dunn.
JUDYS MCARDLE - held up early stages of the run home.
BLUE CHIP LAD - raced fiercely in the early stages. Heavily restrained near the 1600 metres but despite this made contact with the sulky wheel of MATRIKA. Caused driver D Dunn considerable difficulty until being taken forwards near the 1300 metres to race outside the leader. Raced greenly throughout the final straight. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
