Shifted outwards abruptly near the 200 metres when weakening. Assisted by her employer J Gameson, Stewards questioned H Jerard regarding the tactics she adopted during the middle stages of the running as to whether it would of been more advantageous to give her gelding some respite after working hard in the early stages as opposed to dictating a quicker tempo to the outside of the leader. Miss Jerard advised her runner had over-raced causing her some difficulty. She added that after making an initial unsuccessful attempt for the front she had restrained and lost ground on the leader but then her gelding began to race keenly and so decided to make another attempt on the front. After considering the submissions of Miss Jerard and Mr Gameson Stewards deemed that she had erred in the tactics she adopted and through doing so had driven in a manner that was capable of diminishing her chances. When assessing what action to take against Miss Jerard Stewards considered, among other things, her penalty record, the horse's racing manners and her substantial inexperience and issued her with a reprimand for her poor judgement. Miss Jerard was also cautioned for her lack of control and whip use on a runner out of contention throughout the run home.
