DROVER'S EYRE - held up rounding the final bend.
ZAKSPATROL - Amateur Driver D Branch was reminded of his obligations to be on the mobile gate at the start. The gelding was a length out of position at the start.
 
Race 2 SEEKA KIWIFRUIT INDUSTRIES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
A GLASS OF TANQUERAY - broke at the start losing ground. Broke again inside the 100 metres.
DUNITHARD - broke at the start and shortly after losing all chance.
THE REV - broke approaching the 400 metres.
TEHORO HAZEL - slow to begin.
JIMMYS GIRL - contacted pylons rounding the final bend.
DAUNTLESS - broke passing the 700 metres.
GINGER BERTHA - broke passing the 1800 metres.
LUNDQVIST - broke passing the 500 metres.
DANKE - broke at the start and again at the 600 metres.

MCLEOD'S DAUGHTER - held up rounding the home bend and the early stages of the run home. Driver S Lawson advised he did not activate the sliding blinds. Mr Lawson was shown the video coverage of an incident after the winning post which resulted in SOLE DELIGHT being checked. Mr Lawson was reminded to exercise greater care when pulling his horse up after the race.
WONDER WHY - inclined to over race middle stages.
ZARA BROWN - inclined to lay in over the early and middle stages.
MIMOZA - over raced middle stages.

CHERRY BAY - broke shortly after the start checking LAMBROS with WILL DESIRE taking evasive action. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of CHERRY BAY. Broke near the 500 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of this mare.
LAMBROS - broke near the 1400 metres. Broke again inside the final 100 metres. A warning was placed on the racing manners of this gelding.
 
Race 5 LASER PLUMBING & HEATING TE PUKE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FATHER FRANK - inclined to over race. Held up over the early stages of the run home. The removable deafeners failed to release after the activation cord broke.
GEBO - broke approaching the 1000 metres. A warning was placed on its racing manners record.
MOSSDALE NIGEL - broke passing the 1700 metres. A warning was placed on the racing manners of this gelding.
DENNIS LILLEE - pulled fiercely in the score up.
RUNCLE - became unbalanced travelling over the crossing breaking for several strides.
 
Race 6 STAPLES RODWAY TAURANGA HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
WAR MACHINE - broke shortly after the start settling at the rear. Broke racing into the first bend losing its chance.
OPAWA SPEED - weakened from inside the 600 metres.
O'DRISCOLL - weakened, checked and broke when in tight quarters passing the 500 metres. An investigation established that the gelding broke when racing outside of KD HALL (A Herlihy) which was improving outward around the tiring OPAWA SPEED and at the same time MOMENT OF TRUTH (J Wallace) racing to the outside of O'DRISCOLL lay in. No action was deemed warranted as no one horseman was at fault.
SAINT MICHEL - broke for several strides approaching the 600 metres when racing to the inside of VALMAGNE (S Phelan). Driver K Marshall advised that despite being in tight quarters the gelding should have kept his gait.
MOMENT OF TRUTH - claimed by L Milina. Lay in under pressure home turn and weakened final stages.
 
Race 7 ALISON WALLIS MEMORIAL JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHILLYSJUSTASTRUTTER - was one and a half lengths out of position at the start. Junior Driver J Wallace was warned to maintain his position behind the mobile gate.
P TOMADO - Junior Driver D Ferguson was charged under 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively when driving P TOMADO out over the final stages. The hearing was opened and adjourned to the Cambridge Raceway on 16 February 2017.
 
Race 8 GARTSHORE GROUP TAURANGA GRASS CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
MO CASINO - Driver S Reid dropped his foot from the sulky footrest when activating gear passing the 250 metres.
FULL SPEED AHEAD - broke at the start losing ground. The authorization of the payment of the gelding's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards viewed the video coverage to confirm that it complied with the breaking horses regulation in that it regained its gait within the required 150 metres.
CHAL SHOCKED - delayed start due to gear adjustment. Broke for several strides at the start.
 
Race 9 ULTIMATE MOTOR GROUP MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MY KIWI LADY - attempted to lead the journey, weakened finishing 8th inside the last 350 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer /Driver S Reid advised he was disappointed with the filly's performance.
COBRA BANNER - three wide from the 700 metres, five wide entering the straight
SWEET MAGGIE RYAN - held up final turn and the early stages of the run home.
SUNHAVEN BOSS - four wide leaving the final bend, six wide in the run home before shifting ground inward passing the 200 metres.

BEACON HILL - broke at the 700 metres losing its chance.
MANIHIKI PEARL - failed to get clear racing room until inside the final 100 metres.
DIAMOND PRINCE - Driver S Phelan advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners.
