GINGER BERTHA - broke near the 1400 metres but soon settled. Broke racing over the crossing at the 400 metres.
SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR - broke shortly after the start and settled at the rear. Broke near the 1300 metres and again near the 700 metres.
MY SKY - claimed by Mr J Butcher. Broke after 100 metres but soon settled. Broke near the 100 metres losing all chance.
COOL SON - broke early in the score up losing considerable ground. Broke racing over the crossing near the 400 metres losing all chance.
O'DRISCOLL - broke racing over the crossing by the 1500 metres losing considerable ground.
IL PIRATA - slow to follow the mobile and was back from the unruly position at dispatch. Broke racing over the crossing at the 400 metres losing all chance.
 
Race 2 COROMANDEL MORE FM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FATHER FRANK - over raced in the early and middle stages when being restrained and was obliged to race three wide without cover throughout before weakening over the final stages. Junior Driver M Johnson advised that the gelding had been contacting the near side wheel disc when he attempted to restrain back to the rear causing it to over race badly.
CARRIE MISS MACH - broke racing over the crossing in the score up losing its chance.
OCTOBER RUSH - lay in and contacted several marker pegs on the final turn.
KUSIMA - Trainer J Stormont was charged a $25.00 colour fee.
 
Race 3 DAYMOS TYRES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
A GLASS OF TANQUERAY - trotted roughly inside the 100 metres.
THE REV - broke racing over the crossing near the 400 metres losing its chance.
THE LAST GAMBLE - broke shortly after the start and failed to settle. Broke again near the 1700 metres when being eased as DONNA MAY shifted out to a one out position in front of THE LAST GAMBLE and lost all chance.
AWA CATHRINE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
DANKE - broke near the 450 metres losing all chance..
 
Race 4 TIM VINCE SUPPORTS RACING AT THAMES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GEBO - broke approaching the 900 metres when being restrained off the back of JANIES GOT A GUN when there was an easing of the pace in the one out running line, checking a trailing runner and lost all chance.
MAGNUM ROSE - checked near the 900 metres. A post race Veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the inside of the off knee and a minor abrasion on the outside of the near hock.
WYNBERG DELIGHT - Trainer M Berger was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the gelding with blinds which were not notified. Held up on the final turn and early stages of the run home.
OKLAHOMA THUNDER - back a length at dispatch.
 
Race 5 LES HARRISON DISTRIBUTION MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HEY KNOWCHANGE - lay out during the running when leading and then shifted out a sulky width on straightening for the run home when Driver A Poutama activated the deafeners.
STARS DELIGHT - paced roughly in the early stages having to be restrained. Raced three wide first 800 metres.
TURNBULLS - paced roughly entering the first turn when racing four wide. Raced three wide throughout. Inconvenienced briefly near the 100 metres when shifted wider on the track by SAGE CREEK.
CHRISSIE JET - was sent to the unruly position following a request from Trainer/Driver D Butcher after the mare had become worked up during the preliminary and failed to warm up favourably. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
YOUBETTERYOUBET - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after kicking out in the tie up stalls and was cleared to start.
EMERSON MARGARET - raced three wide first 600 metres.
 
Race 6 KOPU STATION HOTEL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DIAMOND PRINCE - held up throughout the final straight. Driver S Phelan advised that he did not activate the deafeners and sliding blinds.
SHANTAHLIA KNIGHT - no claims were lodged.
KATE JACKSON - broke in the score up and failed to settle losing its chance. A final warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners record.
OLIVIA'S SECRET - broke near the 600 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.
COLLECTION - gave ground near the 400 metres.
 
Race 7 BAYLEYS COROMANDEL 2017 PARAWAI CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
DROVER'S EYRE - held up early final turn. Contacted marker pegs near the 250 metres and then galloped losing all chance. An investigation was held into this incident and it was established that Driver T Herlihy had improved DROVER'S EYRE to the inside of FLEETING GRIN passing the 300 metres when that runner shifted out marginally in anticipation of receiving a clear run, however FLEETING GRIN had then shifted back in resulting in DROVER'S EYRE racing over several marker pegs and then contacting three further pegs before galloping. After considering the matter no further action was taken on this occasion other than to remind Mr Herlihy of his obligations when attempting to improve in restricted room.
MINSTREL BOY - raced three wide from the 1500 metres when unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by FULL SPEED AHEAD.
IMAJOLLYWALLY - broke briefly at the start.
FLEETING GRIN - paced roughly and shifted out marginally near the 300 metres when leading.
NO WAY ELSE - lost contact with the field racing down the back straight.
FULL SPEED AHEAD - over raced in the middle stages when outside the leader. When questioned regarding the performance Co-Trainer B Hackett advised that Driver T Macfarlane had activated the deafeners and sliding blinds leaving the front straight with a lap to race when attempting to secure the lead and that the gelding had then commenced to over race shortly after and that this had taken its toll over the final stages.
 
Race 8 PLACEMAKERS THAMES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ELLIOT DANIEL - no claims lodged. When questioned regarding the removable deafeners failing to activate Trainer C Wigg explained that the release cord had broken when caught up on the sulky footrest and that she would be making gear adjustments accordingly.
RED MAGIC - a false start was declared when RED MAGIC broke racing over the crossing causing interference to runners on the second line. Junior Driver B Butcher elected to stay in his original barrier position for the restart. Broke racing over the crossing near the 400 metres losing all chance
WHALE RIDER - raced three wide for the first 500 metres before crossing to race outside the leader. Raced in restricted room in the run home and had to change ground inside the 50 metres to secure clear running.
PRIME LUSTRE - Driver A Sharpe admitted a charge under Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively over the final stages with the JCA imposing a $300 fine.
ARMABLUECHIPBOY - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
SUNHAVEN BOSS - paced roughly approaching the 800 metres when appearing to get onto the back of EASY FOR CULLEN when there was an easing of the pace in the one out running line and trailed the field thereafter. Underwent a post race veterinary examination after the gelding returned to the birdcage with blood at a nostril however was found to have sustained a laceration inside the left nostril.
