Race 1 ASURE SUNDOWNER MOTEL & SPEIGHTS MAIDEN TROT Video  Video 
I W MCNIK - broke at the start.
WAR SPIRIT - when spoken to regarding the gelding's improved effort trainer/driver K Townley explained the horse had benefited from the addition of half hopples and removable deafeners.
REIGN ON ME - broke at the start. Broke again after 400 metres losing its chance.
GEENA'S GIRL - paced in the early stages and then broke losing her chance.
ROSETTA STONE - was checked at the start causing the mare to break. Stewards spoke to driver M Pash as to whether he could have made a better effort to avoid the galloping I W MCNIK. Mr Pash explained his horse raced with a near side boring pole which it had taken objection to and despite his efforts he had been unable to straighten her away from the sulky of I W MCNIK or sufficiently steady his mare. After reviewing the films the matter was taken no further.
JEDI JOSH - slow to begin.
GEOFFREY P - broke at the start.
 
Race 2 CRAFAR CROUCH CONSTRUCTION MAIDEN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GOLDILOCH - broke at the start and lost its chance. A warning was put on the mare's barrier record. Driver R Houghton advised a shadow roll would be fitted to the horse's gear.
IT'S OFFICIAL - broke in the score up and was out of position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Driver K Gill advised that it was her intention to add hopple shorteners for the second day of racing.
FREAK LIKE ME - broke after 400 metres and lost ground.
WAS MEANT TO BE - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the entire's barrier record. Broke with 400 metres to run. Trainer B Weaver advised it was his intention to add hopple shorteners and bell boots to his horse's gear.
SMOOTH N EASY - raced wide in the early stages. Weakened over the final stages after racing in the open throughout.
GLENFERRIE DUSTER - hampered after 400 metres by a galloping runner.
JERSEY JOE WALCOTT - hampered after 400 metres by a galloping runner. When questioned regarding the gelding's improved performance co-trainer M O'Brien explained that at its most recent start it had been taken forwards from its front line draw but then weakened over the final stages because of this. He added that his horse had today gained an economical run from its second line draw and going forward it was his intention to continue having the horse driven in this manner should circumstances permit.
 
Race 3 ALLAN SCOTT WINEMAKERS MAIDEN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HAYDEN'S MEDDLE - driver J Dunn reported that he did not activate the gelding's hopple shorteners due to it racing roughly on several occasions during the running.
MILLWOOD CHARITY - weakened leaving the final bend. Driver R Holmes reported the mare to have hung outwards throughout.
CLARENDON FALCON - held up passing the 200 metres for a short distance and had to shift outwards.
BLUECHIP VERDICT - broke after 400 metres.
OUT OF ACES - hung inwards first bend briefly restricting the racing room available to DONEGAL CARNBOUY.
IDEALAGAIN - raced greenly near the 1600 metres and had to be steadied when awkwardly positioned close to the wheel of TITANIUM.
THE GOLDEN CROSS - had to be steadied racing into the first bend.
RUNAWAY THREE - raced wide and without cover through the early and middle stages.
SHADOWMAN - held up early stages of the run home.
REBEL RICHIE - checked and broke racing into the first bend.
DONEGAL CARNBOUY crowded for a short distance racing into the first bend and raced greenly when steadied shifting inwards checking REBEL RICHIE. Was held up early stages of the run home and lay inwards under pressure throughout the final straight.
 
Race 4 BARRY OSBORNE MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CRACKABELLA - when questioned regarding the mare's improved performance, driver and stable representative J Young explained the mare is better suited to mobile racing and felt that today's field represented a considerable drop in class to what she had been racing against throughout December.
TENNYSON INLET - lost contact with the field with 800 metres to run. Driver J Dunn reported the gelding had raced roughly and had to be steadied. He added he would be recommending that a different sulky be used for the second day after it made contact with the discs during the running. Checked near the 400 metres.
DANSE MACABRE - over raced in the middle stages.
AVEROSS BRACHOLE - badly checked near the 400 metres.
LIVING LEGEND - broke passing the 400 metres and blundered checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
 
Race 5 INTERISLANDER HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
REDWOOD INVASION - held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
MUSCLES GALORE - broke at the start and lost all chance.
LADY BEATRIX BOURBON - broke after 200 metres and lost all chance.
ARDITI - raced roughly in the early stages and broke with 1000 metres to run. Driver R Close reported the gelding had raced roughly on the bends and pulled hard in the middle stages.
FOREVERMAN - raced greenly near the 1100 metres when being restrained to take cover behind the improving DESTINY JONES.

KITURA - was a late scratching this morning due to being injured en-route to the track.
SAUCHIEHALL - held up on the home turn and early stages of the run home.
TRIXIE BROMAC - when questioned regarding the improved efforts of the mare co-trainer M O'Brien explained the horse's form over its recent starts was very inconsistent without any apparent reason.
 
Race 7 PETER YEALANDS WINES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LETTING GO - commenced to weaken with 400 metres to run.
 
Race 8 CHATEAU MARLBOROUGH MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SHE'S A FLYIN - raced keenly on the final bend and was then held up in the early stages of the run home.
JJ'S DELIGHT - when spoken to regarding the mare's performance driver B Orange advised that in his opinion the mare had been unsuited to the Blenheim track surface.
GOTTA GO YA HU - over raced through the middle stages and hung inwards when improving at the 600 metres.
