Race 1 BTL PASSING LANE TROT Video  Video 
TROY CASTLETON - reared at the start and swung inwards impacting ABBYS DELIGHT causing a delay. A warning was placed on the gelding's standing start record.
RUTHLESS KAYLA - briefly held up leaving the final bend.
MOMENT OF KAOS - fractious behind the barriers. Broke at the start and lost ground. Broke again near the 1200 metres.
CASTLETON TUI - slow to begin. Broke after 200 metres. Gave ground final bend.
FLYING DAN - weakened near the 400 metres.
ONE OVER DA STARS - slow to begin. Broke near the 1050 metres when improving three wide. Again broke near the 600 metres losing its chance. When spoken to regarding the performance, trainer B White reported that in his opinion the filly is unsuited to improving wide during the running at this stage of its career and it would be his intention to instruct his driver to obtain a sit when circumstances permit in its upcoming starts.
PRINCESS HARBOUR - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
SUNNY CJ - fractious behind the barriers. Trotted roughly throughout the run home and broke with 30 metres remaining. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations.
ROAMING - fractious behind the barriers. Refused to move away with the field and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's standing start record.
 
Race 2 BISHOPDALE & BUSH INN TAB'S MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BETTOR BACKIM - hampered near the 400 metres.
GERALD - checked and broke near the 400 metres.
JACKALACK SUE - checked and broke near the 400 metres.
BEST DEFENCE - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Held up late in the run home.
WHOOSH FACTOR - raced wide in the early stages until near the 1100 metres when taken forwards to race outside the leader.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT - hung inwards when improving wide near the 600 metres. Driver N Munro admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 400 metres when allowing his horse to shift inwards checking JACKALACK SUE and GERALD which both broke. After considering submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $350.
EM AY - held up late in the run home and had to be steadied.
TUFFLITTLEROOSTER - raced keenly shortly after the start. Hampered near the 400 metres.

CULLENS JOY - hung inwards late in the run home.
BICTON - held up throughout the home straight.
CORENA LEA - held up throughout the home straight.
JEMIMA FRANCO - raced greenly in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
CLOCKWORK ORANGE - out of position at the start. Driver S Golding was issued with a warning. Gave ground final bend.
FORTUNE TILLER - broke in the score up and lost considerable ground however managed to recover its position by the release point. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record. Broke racing into the first bend. Driver J Young reported the filly did not handle the slushy track conditions. This filly was treated following the event for a significant laceration to its near front leg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to the horse resuming.
PALEFACE SIOUX - held up on the final bend.
TAHLIA FRANCO - Stewards questioned S McNally regarding the manner he drove this filly with particular reference to the 1300 metres when he opted not to improve his position three wide with cover. Mr McNally explained that he had been able to improve wide at the filly's most recent start due to it being in a smaller field (9) than today and added that his horse was not suited to sustaining, what he anticipated would be, a prolonged three wide run at this stage of its career, especially in the slushy track conditions. The comments of Mr McNally were accepted.
JANUARY JONES - had to steady near the 1400 metres after an easing of the pace. Cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
 
Race 4 EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES TROT Video  Video 
MAGNAFIQUE - began awkwardly.
THE BEST BEG - broke in the early stages.
MASSIVE METRO - hampered near the 1900 metres. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
RED HOT POKER - broke in the early stages. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until it was confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
ANNA KATE - raced wide before reaching the parked position near the 2000 metres. Gave ground final bend.
SHEZA TRENDY MONARCH - held up final bend.
ARANNALEA - raced wide racing into the first bend before being restrained. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver S Ottley reported the mare failed to handle the slushy track.
BEG FOR CHEVRON - broke its over-check prior to the start causing a delay. Broke near the 1900 metres losing ground.
TIME FOR DIAMONDS - trotted roughly rounding the first bend.
IDLE BOYS - broke in the early stages.
STELLAR SUCCESS - driver G O'Reilly reported the outrigger bit had pulled through the mare's mouth.
SARAH PALIN - raced wide before obtaining a position in the two wide line near the 1900 metres. Held up on the final bend by a tiring runner.
GORILLA PLAYBOY - raced wide until near the 1800 metres when able to take up a position nearer to the pylons. Held up near the 100 metres.

GARRY'S LEGACY - held up final bend.
MYNANASGOTNOTEETH - over-raced near the 1400 metres and had to be steadied when awkwardly positioned close to the wheel of ZIMFANDEL.
NOVAK - slightly out of position at the start. Raced wide until near the 1400 metres.
JOHN THE PLUMBER - slightly out of position at the start.
JUST ONE GOOD ONE - gave ground final bend.
MACADOR - held up on the final bend.
MASTER JORDY - gave ground final bend.

AGATHA TYRON - hampered first bend. Held up final bend. Hung inwards over the concluding stages and trotted roughly.
MADAM SPUR - hampered first bend.
MEDUSA - broke racing into the first bend. Broke near the 1100 metres.
DRAGON SUN - the rein pricker was removed prior to the start. Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Hampered first bend.
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - broke after 150 metres. Broke near the 300 metres.
SUNDONS FLYER - broke racing into the first bend.
DEBANEYRE - began awkwardly and was slow to begin. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver B Orange advised the mare failed to handle the slushy track.
CRADDOCK - broke at the start.
BOBBINS - gave ground final bend.
 
Race 7 MORRISON'S SADDLERY & FEED MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHIEF KAPAI - held up final bend.
BUCKEYE - driver D Keast will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner he drove in the home straight.
PAT CAMPBELL - raced fiercely in the early stages before being taken forwards to the lead near the 1300 metres. Gave ground final bend.
THE VALIANT - raced wide and without cover until near the 1100 metres when taken forwards to race outside the leader.
WOBBEGONG - held up final bend.
QUITE IDEAL - forced to race four wide from the 1300 metres. Weakened final bend. Trainer B Mowbray was fined $100 after failing to affix a bandage so as not to come adrift.
RAH DE RAH - out of position at the start. Driver L Lester was issued with a warning. Held up final bend.
RICHARD LE FORT - held up final bend.
KAYTEEOH DENARIO - driver M Anderson, assisted by Senior Horseman B Butt, defended a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b) & (c) in that he shifted ground outwards near the 1300 metres when not entitled to resulting in the improving QUITE IDEAL having to race wider on the track. After hearing the evidence and viewing the replays, the JCA found the charge proved and Mr Anderson was fined $200.
ALL ABOUT HENRY - held up final bend.
HIGHLAND REIGN - held up final bend.
CANDERDEL - raced wide throughout. Over-raced in the middle stages.
HARD DAYS NIGHT - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier record.
 
Race 8 BROSNAN TRANSPORT PACE Video  Video 
ELLMERS IMAGE - Stewards spoke with K James regarding the late arrival of this horse into the birdcage where it became apparent that driver C DeFilippi had failed to avail himself by the required time. After questioning Mr DeFilippi he was issued with a $200 minor infringement notice. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
ICE CRUSHER - when spoken to regarding the performance, driver S Ottley reported the horse had been disappointing after working hard in the early stages and felt the gelding may be better suited when driven more conservatively. Trainer M Jones was fined $100 for failing to affix the bandages so as not to come adrift.
LIKELY JEREME - broke at the start.
STOMPEM - broke at the start.
HIDDEN DESIRE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
TWO RIGHT - broke at the start. Driver J Cox advised he did not activate gear after the gelding paced roughly due to the slushy nature of the track.
OUR QUINN - hampered at the start and broke.
RIGHTEOUS BROTHER - shifted inwards at the start. Raced wide in the early stages.
DIAMOND LIFE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
BUZKIL - raced four wide from the 800 metres.
NEARIS GREEN - raced wide in the early stages.
 
Race 9 TEMUKA BOWLING CLUB MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BENICIO - broke briefly approaching the 200 metres. Driver J Cox advised the gelding raced roughly in the run home and he did not activate the deafeners.
CHRISTOPHER BANNER - broke exiting the final bend after being shifted wider on the track and locking wheels with the improving DONEGAL RUNDLESCREEK. After speaking with drivers R May (CHRISTOPHER BANNER) and S Ottley (ROCKI WARRIOR), Stewards were satisfied that ROCKI WARRIOR had shifted outwards in an acceptable manner however CHRISTOPHER BANNER had failed to sufficiently handle the shift causing it to break and lock wheels with DONEGAL RUNDLESCREEK.
ROCKI WARRIOR - hung inwards over the concluding stages.
DONEGAL RUNDLESCREEK - had to be steadied near the 1250 metres when racing keenly. Locked wheels in the home straight losing its chance.
STUNIN DUDE - paced roughly near the 1300 metres.

Trainer N McGrath was fined $50 for being late to notify a driver for PEMBROOK EXPRESS and SPECIAL CHANGE.
LETS ROCK N ROLL - broke at the start checking several runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
GLENGARRY ROSE - hung inwards and struck pylons near the 900 metres. Again hung inwards and struck pylons near the 300 metres.
PIECE OF CAKE - weakened near the 500 metres. Trainer/driver G Smith advised he would be reassessing the filly's racing future.
ROZZANO - checked at the start.
MAGIC BLAZE - checked at the start.
PEMBROOK EXPRESS - checked at the start.
TUSCANY MISS - broke at the start. Held up final bend.
SPECIAL CHANGE - broke near the 2200 metres and lost ground. A warning was placed on the filly's racing record.
 
Race 11 PROPERTY BROKERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BIG IS GOOD - over-raced in the middle stages. Weakened from the 800 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding. Trainer T Harkness advised that he would no longer persevere with the gelding as a pacer from his stable.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS - broke and hung inwards passing the 200 metres.
JACK HAMMER - raced roughly near the 800 metres. Hampered near the 200 metres. Driver R May reported the gelding had travelled poorly throughout and was of the opinion the gelding had failed to handle the slushy track.
MARAT SAF FINN - gave ground final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver J Young reported she had been confident leading up to today's race however was disappointed with the gelding's efforts despite being driven aggressively in the early stages. Miss Young added that she would now look to drive the horse with a sit when circumstances permit as she felt it was not suited to working in its races.
