DROVER'S EYRE - Amateur Driver S Wigg briefly dropped her left foot from the sulky footrest near the 150 metres when activating the sliding blinds.
SUNHAVEN BOSS - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground before catching the field near the 1000 metres. Lost the off front shoe during the running. Was placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
PRIME LUSTRE - inconvenienced by the galloping SUNHAVEN BOSS shortly after the start.
ELLIOT DANIEL - no claims lodged.

TEHORO HAZEL - broke briefly entering the first turn and settled at the rear. When questioned regarding the apparent lack of vigour shown over the concluding stages Driver K Marshall advised Stewards that he had been reluctant to place the mare under undue pressure given its early break and also that it had broken on various occasions over the final stages in its past racing. Mr Marshall's comments were noted.
THE LAST GAMBLE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.

M T POCKETS - paced roughly for a stride shortly after the start. Lay inwards early in the run home.
HEY KNOWCHANGE - had to shift ground inwards approaching the 100 metres to obtain clear running.
CHARLIE HARPER - raced three wide throughout.
LUCKY JOHN - raced three wide throughout
TURNBULLS - the start was delayed after this gelding kicked out during its preliminary which resulted in the sulky needing to be replaced. Underwent a veterinary inspection and was cleared to start. Held up throughout the final straight.
WAINGARO MARA - raced three wide throughout
 
Race 4 CLIFF THOMAS (PATRON) FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ARYA FAMOUS - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed against this mare's mobile barrier manners.
SUZIE PEE JAY - lay in under pressure over the final 100 metres.
BUBBLES O'LEARY - Trainer R Villiger was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare without the notified fixed deafeners. Inconvenienced in the score up but was in position prior to dispatch.
GENOCIATE - over raced during the middle stages when at the rear.

MY SKY - no claims lodged
ITSNOWORNEVER - broke under pressure approaching the 50 metres but soon settled.
JOMO - Driver J Robinson advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners.
SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR - broke briefly shortly after the start. Broke near the 1800 metres when leading and settling mid field. Broke near the 800 metres.
O'DRISCOLL - broke at the start but soon settled. Commenced to give ground passing the 800 metres. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding did not reveal any abnormality.
PRINCESS MACKENDON - trotted roughly when placed in restricted room approaching the 400 metres then broke shortly after for some strides.
HARRY H - broke entering the first bend and was retired from the event.
GREY STOKE - broke on the first bend. Checked and broke inside the 1000 metres.
MAKAREWA JAKE - was placed in restricted room then broke for a distance inside the 1000 metres. GREY STOKE also broke when taking evasive action. An investigation was held into this incident and after hearing the relative evidence of Drivers B Hackett (MAKAREWA JAKE), D Balle (WAR MACHINE) and S Cruickshank (SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR) and viewing the replays the Stewards determined that blame could not be solely attributed to any individual driver and no further action was taken other than to note the circumstances.

DELRAY - paced roughly near the 1400 metres.
MOSSDALE NIGEL - Driver S McCaffrey advised Stewards the gelding had been unsuited by today's track conditions.
KNIGHTS DESIRE - raced three wide for the first 800 metres.
CHEROKEE WARRIOR - tended to lay in early in the run home.
OCTOBER RUSH - A $25 colour fee was issued to Trainer J Kriechbaumer. Gave ground final stages. Driver S Abernethy momentarily dropped his foot from the sulky footrest approaching the 300 metres when activating gear.
KILKENNY TURK - raced three wide from the 1300 metres.

SAGE CREEK - held up throughout the run home.
MANIHIKI PEARL - held up throughout the run home.
DIAMOND PRINCE - held up until inside the 100 metres. Driver S Phelan advised Stewards that he did not activate the removable deafeners and sliding blinds.
JACK BATES - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.

FLEETING GRIN - held up throughout the run home.
VAN MARA - broke briefly at the start.
DIKERRY - crowded having to be steadied shortly after the start.
SIR RICHIE - broke at the start and shifted in crowding DIKERRY which had to be steadied.
MO CASINO - tangled away.
MINSTREL BOY - broke at the start settling at the rear.
THE TRACKER - tangled away.
JOANEDNOBETTOR - when questioned regarding the performance Driver J Dickie stated that the race had not been run to suit with a slow tempo and was unable to make up any ground from the rear of the field.
MAJOR CLASSIC - was slow to begin.
