WASHINGTONS CHANCE - tired from the 700 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
CHAL SHOCKED - shifted out under pressure in the run home.
ELLIOT DANIEL - no claims were lodged. Driver C Wigg reported that she had been unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the release cord becoming entangled in the harness.
ZAKSPATROL - was claimed by S Donnelly.
KNOCKMANAUGH - tired over the final stages.
SHARDON'S PEARL - Trainer T Mitchell was charged a $25 colour fee. Paced roughly near the 1850 metres after contacting the sulky wheel of CHAL SHOCKED. Amateur Driver B Dickens was shown the replay of the incident and reminded of his obligations regarding the Easing Down Regulation. Mr Dickens reported that he had dropped his whip approaching the 100 metres after it became entangled in the deafeners release cord. Inconvenienced late in the run home.

Race 2 DUNSTAN FEEDS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video
GENTLEMAN SIR - Driver D Butcher advised that he did not activate removable deafeners due to the gelding trotting unevenly.
CAITLIN'S SURPRISE - shifted out near the 150 metres and had to be corrected by Driver D Balle.
MADHUBALA - held up final turn.
LINDY'S DREAM - Trainer A Holdaway was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting LINDY'S DREAM without the notified blinds. Underwent a post race veterinary examination after having blood at a nostril when returning to the stabling area. The Veterinarian subsequently advised that the gelding had not suffered a bleeding attack.

Race 3 NI TRAINERS & DRIVERS ASSN JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE TROT Video  Video
COOL SON - back a length at dispatch. Shifted in near the 600 metres when leading and then broke after jumping a marker peg. Restrained to the rear before rejoining the field near the 400 metres where the gelding again galloped after jumping another marker peg. It was subsequently established that COOL SON had shifted in when Junior Driver J MacKinnon was attempting to activate the deafeners and then once down on the infield he had no option other than to restrain to the rear to rejoin the field at the first available opportunity without causing interference. After considering the matter Mr MacKinnon was given the benefit of the doubt on this occasion as to the manner in which he had driven in this incident however he was reminded of his obligations to ensure that he exercises sufficient control over his runner in similar circumstances in the future.
IL PIRATA - trotted roughly over the early stages. Broke under pressure with approximately 25 metres to race and failed to settle. Authorisation of 3rd place was withheld until it was confirmed that the gelding had lost ground whilst in the break and had not been lapped on by the 4th placed TAIMATE SUCCESS.
