Race 9 - UPPER CUTS BUTCHERY MOBILE PACE
Trainer C Barron has advised Stewards that following its disappointing run at Winton last week, CRIME SCENE has recovered well with no abnormalities apparent. As a result the gelding will continue with its current campaign.

Race 1 BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TABS & TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
REGAL SUZY - weakened from the 500 metres.
ROYAL JESTER - driver A Edge admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) the particulars being that he used his whip in an excessive manner in the final 400 metres. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
CAESAR ROCKS - held up for a distance near the 500 metres when trailing the weakening REGAL SUZY.
LIVE TO TELL - raced wide without cover through the middle stages.
BETTOR BACKIM - inconvenienced near the 1300 metres then raced wide without cover for the remainder of the event.
WHOOSH FACTOR - driver T Woodward was cautioned to ensure that he is in his correct position when reaching the Candy Pole. Lay inwards passing the 800 metres locking wheels with EM AY for a short distance.
REDMARO - raced wide without cover in the early stages. Broke near the 1300 metres.
LOOSE CANNON - steadied entering the first bend when crowded for room to the inside of CAESAR ROCKS (G Sinnamon) which shifted inwards. Driver G Sinnamon was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted inwards at this stage of the event. Held up near the 600 metres. Steadied near the 300 metres when awkwardly positioned behind the weakening REGAL SUZY.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT - Driver N Munro reported that he could only activate one removable deafener on the gelding due to the cord becoming entangled.
EM AY - Locked wheels with WHOOSH FACTOR for a short distance near the 800 metres. Driver C Negus reported that she was unable to activate the blinds or removable deafeners on the mare due to the cord becoming entangled.
ATOM HANOVER - Driver J McDermott was spoken to advisedly regarding the positioning of his reins.
 
Race 2 DUNCAN AGRICULTURAL CONTRACTORS/OMAKAU AUTO CENTRE HCP TROT Video  Video 
SYNDIRELLA - broke at the start.
ARMORI - driver G McLay reported he had sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
DREAM BIG - broke after 200 metres losing its chance.
MCLOVIN - broke after 200 metres. Authorisation of dividends was withheld until the Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in the early stages.
LUCKY PAT'S SON - broke passing the 400 metres.
MADAM SPUR - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
BOBBINS - over-raced throughout. Lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 3 GALLAGHER FAMILY GOLD CUP/CRAIG & MARIE MCNEILL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MAIDONTHEBEACH - raced wide rounding the first bend.
SUPREME BANNER - contested positions with CINDY BROMAC near the 1600 metres, broke shortly after.
JAY FM - hung inwards and broke near the 1100 metres.
GALLEONS PLEASURE - inconvenienced near the 1100 metres. Forced to race four wide near the 700 metres. Broke near the 250 metres when contacting the sulky wheel of CINDY BROMAC (R May) which shifted outwards. Driver R May defended a charge pursuant to Rule 869(3)(b) the particulars being that he drove carelessly when he shifted outwards when not sufficiently clear of GALLEONS PLEASURE. After viewing replays and hearing evidence from Mr May and the Stewards the JCA found the charge proved and after hearing submissions on penalty imposed a fine of $350.
CINDY BROMAC - broke near the 1600 metres when contesting a position to the inside of SUPREME BANNER (M Kerr). After questioning drivers concerned, driver R May defended a charge pursuant to Rule 869(3)(b) the particulars being that he drove carelessly when failing to concede his position. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Mr May and the Stewards the JCA dismissed the charge. Driver reported the filly had struck the wheel discs on several occasions.
WILLEDU - held up rounding the final bend and when being angled outwards to obtain clear running near the 150 metres was inclined to hang inwards.
 
Race 4 BECKERS TRANSPORT/SAMUEL FENCING JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SEDUCE ME - Stewards questioned junior driver G Crawford with the assistance of Mr G Knight regarding the tactics she adopted near the 350 metres when electing to shift outwards from a trailing position. Miss Crawford stated that at this stage ICE CRUSHER which she was trailing had commenced to weaken and added she was conscious of being held up and losing momentum so elected to shift out onto the back of the improving NYREE FRANCO which was travelling well. However near the 180 metres she received slight interference when ICE CRUSHER lay outwards this halted her momentum. After assessing this matter Stewards deemed Miss Crawford had erred in her decision to shift outwards at this time however given the circumstances her decision was not entirely unreasonable.
ICE CRUSHER - lay outwards when placed under pressure near the 150 metres inconveniencing SEDUCE ME.
ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED - raced wide without cover rounding the first bend. The centre hopple carrier strap broke near the 1500 metres resulting in the mare breaking and being retired from the event. The gear was inspected by the Stewards and found to be in satisfactory condition.
BELMONT JET - hung inwards rounding the final bend.
MCKENZIE MARA - weakened from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SHE'S A FLYIN - held up rounding the home turn. Improved inside the marker line approaching the 200 metres. Stewards were satisfied that SHE'S A FLYIN gained no advantage. Driver R McIlwrick was cautioned to ensure that his sulky does not protrude inside the marker line.
CHIEF KAPAI - held up momentarily near the 300 metres.
PORSCHE CANARDLY - improved wide from the 700 metres.
 
Race 5 HOUSE OF TRAVEL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LORRETTA FRANCO - late scratching on veterinary advice at 12.15 pm.
NICKY ANEW - driver J Morrison was cautioned to ensure that he is in his correct position at the Candy Pole. Over-raced when being restrained near the 1300 metres. Paced roughly and broke near 450 metres. Warning placed on racing manners record.
EASTWOOD SUZY - raced wide without cover in the early stages prior to being improved to obtain a parked position near the 1200 metres. Weakened inside the final 300 metres.
LAKEISHA - Trainer/driver R Holmes reported that he did not activate the removable hood on the mare due to having the field covered.
 
Race 6 SKEVINGTON CONTRACTING/SOUTHERN WIDE REAL ESTATE HCP TROT Video  Video 
MAJESTIC DE FENCE - broke shortly after the start.
BARHAM BELLE - broke at the start. Broke again after 100 metres losing considerable ground.
REDWOOD INVASION - trotted roughly and broke near the 500 metres.
RYDGEMONT MILLY - trotted roughly and broke passing the 600 metres.

SENORITA MARGARITA - slow to begin.
CAPITAL PLAN - broke at the start
HI DELIGHT - broke at the start. Paced roughly near the 900 metres.
MILLWOOD CHARITY - the near-side number applied on the mare came adrift during the running.
GRACEY LACEY - broke approaching the 2000 metres and failed to settle losing considerable ground.
SELENA FRANCO - broke at the start. Held up throughout the home straight with driver C Thornley reporting he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners on the mare.
KIEL - hung inwards throughout the home straight.
CAPTAIN MANNERING - broke at the start. Paced indifferently on a number of occasions during the running. Driver D Dunn reported the gelding had raced greenly throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
Race 8 ALEXANDRA SUPER LIQUOR / MACCA LODGE FFA MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
AILE ROUGE - trotted roughly in the latter stages of the score up.
KOWHAI WHIZ - crowded for room during the score up when positioned between MASTER LAVROS and SPRINGBANK EDEN which hung outwards.
FATHER CHRISTMAS - driver R McIlwrick was cautioned to ensure he maintains his correct position behind the mobile barrier until the dispatch point.
 
Race 9 DAVE COCKBURN CONSTRUCTION/RJ (SAM) BROWN LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS - hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the first bend. Weakened from the 400 metres.
FLASHING ON - paced roughly on the final bend.
BETTOR OPS - forced to race four wide briefly near the 900 metres and raced three wide thereafter. Trainer/driver K Larsen advised that it would be his intention to spell the gelding.

SCOTLYNN MACH - over-raced in the middle stages.
FRANCO TEXAS - weakened from the 400 metres.
CAPTAIN DOLMIO - hung inwards through the middle stages.
ROBYN'S BAD BOY - out of position at the dispatch despite the efforts of driver C Ferguson.
MOSSDALE CONNER - held up rounding the final bend.
