Race 1 PHIL MURFITT ORTHODONTIST TROT Video  Video 
IMRAN KHAN - began awkwardly and shifted outwards. Held up final bend.
DON'T ROCK THE BOAT - the boring pole was removed prior to the start. Hampered at the start and slow to begin. Broke after 200 metres. Broke 1400 metres losing its chance.
WHATABOYZ - held up final bend. Broke with 350 metres to run.
NATIVES BRITE GEM - shifted outwards under pressure throughout the final straight. Driver R Close was spoken to and advised to make a better effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
BRYLIN ROSE - when spoken to regarding the mare's seemingly disappointing performance, trainer/driver J Versteeg advised that his mare was unsuited to the quicker tempo of this race compared to its previous runs and trotted roughly inside the last 300 metres.
HERE WE ARE - weakened on the final bend.
SHES SO RIGHT - broke shortly after the start and lost considerable ground.
SUNNY CJ - broke at the start and was slow away. Broke with 400 metres to run

OLIVER QUEEN - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
MUSTANG BULLITT - raced roughly in the early stages.
YOUNEEDABITOFMUSCLE - broke at start veering outwards checking DIOS DEL FUEGO. This colt was placed on the unruly at the request of trainer G Hunt.
RAINY RIVER - held up throughout the run home.
BLUE CHIP LAD - broke briefly at the start. Raced three wide first 600 metres.
BERAGIO - hung outwards throughout the back straight. Broke at the 500 metres.
KING SIZE - broke at the start and lost ground. Lay inwards final bend.
DIOS DEL FUEGO - checked at the start.
 
Race 3 COMMODORE HOTEL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
AZALEA - junior driver H Jerard was charged under Rule 869(2)(a) in that she used her whip in an excessive manner inside the final 400 metres. The charge was admitted with the JCA imposing a fine of $300.
CLEAVER GREEN - raced wide in the early stages.
MR INDEPENDENT - raced roughly over the crossing near the 1700 metres.
ZIMFANDEL - held up for a run until inside the last 200 metres.
BETTOR UNDER FIRE - raced three wide until reaching the parked position near the 1200 metres. Raced greenly on the final bend and shifted outwards. Lay outwards throughout the final straight when under pressure.
 
Race 4 THE FAMOUS GROUSE HOTEL FILLIES & MARES PACE Video  Video 
TAHLIA FRANCO - began awkwardly. Lay inwards throughout the straight.
POSSENTE CAVALLO - weakened passing the 400 metres.
FORTUNE TILLER - broke badly at the start and was pulled up. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record. Trainer D Taylor advised that the filly will be restricted to mobile starts in its upcoming engagements.
BETTOR CHANCE - broke at the start.
TUMAI - broke at the start.
FINE SOPHIE - broke at the start and shifted outwards.
BICTON - hampered in the early stages. Hung inwards throughout the run home causing driver R May some difficulty. Raced roughly over the final stages.
 
Race 5 MCGRATH RACING STABLES & MAVERICK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BUCKEYE - held up in the early stages of the run home.
SAUCHIEHALL - broke early in score-up and was two lengths out of position at the start. Driver J Dunn reported that the mare had been unsuited to the grass surface.
FATIMA SIAD- When spoken to regarding the filly's performance driver D Dunn advised that the filly wasn't suited to the tempo and would benefit from a more consistently run race.
 
Race 6 GRANITE BENCHTOP COMPANY HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
IDLE BOYS - broke on the bend near the 2500 metres.
TROUBLE DEL - broke at the start losing all chance
STELLAR SUCCESS - broke at the start.
TIME FOR DIAMONDS - broke at the start. Broke passing the 1200 metres.
LIGHTWORKOFIT - broke at the start. Had to be steadied near the 2000 metres due to the easing of the pace.
SUNDONS FLYER - broke at the start. Had to be steadied near the 2100 metres when racing keenly and becoming awkwardly positioned near the sulky of STELLAR SUCCESS. Broke passing the 400 metres.
FREE BIRD - raced wide over the early stages.
TEN TOO - had to be steadied near the 2000 metres due to the easing of the pace.
 
Race 7 WAKEFIELD & WILLIAMS GRASS TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
BETTY BOO - had to be steadied near the 1000 metres due to the easing of the pace.
BLAZING VC - restrained near the 1000 metres due to the easing of the pace with the mare having to shift inwards after becoming awkwardly positioned near the sulky of BETTY BOO.
URALLA SUE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the final straight.
GO DAVEY - held up for a short distance leaving the final bend.
LIKELY JEREME - raced wide in the early and middle stages before being taken forwards to lead near the 1100 metres.
THE BOUNDER - broke at the 1000 metres losing ground, driver J Dunn reported that the gelding had been cross firing. A post-race veterinary examination showed no apparent abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
CHAMPAGNE REIGN - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the final straight.
ALL ABOUT HENRY - broke briefly near the 1600 metres. Driver D White admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner over the final stages with a suspension from the 30th December up to and including the 8th of January (two days) being imposed by the JCA.

JACK HAMMER - was unable to obtain clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
BOBBY T - raced roughly in the early stages.
LIVING LEGEND - broke racing over the crossing losing ground.
EARTHBOUND - raced keenly in the middle stages.
MACH'S TERMINATOR - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the home straight.
 
Race 9 PAUL RENWICK JOINERY MOTUKARARA XMAS CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
HOPEFUL HARRIET - broke near the 175 metres. Driver R Close reported that the mare had struck a knee.
ROCKI WARRIOR - held up final bend and in the early and middles stages of the run home.
DANA DUKE - broke in the early stages.
BOOMER BAILEY - over-raced when being restrained to assume a covered position near the 1200 metres.
BEVAN'S CULLEN - hampered soon after the start.
CLASINA MARIA - broke at the start.
SMITHY - broke at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
MOTU PREMIER - began awkwardly and shifted outwards. Raced roughly and shifted inwards abruptly near the 150 metres having to be steadied.

PAT CAMPBELL - held up throughout the run home.
GIVEMATASTEOFKIWI - caught wide early. Held up early in the run home.
AYMAR - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
NOMATTERMEE - raced roughly near the 800 metres when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of QUEEN BEE BARDON. Driver J Young was issued with a warning for the manner in which she drove at this time.
LE VADO - broke passing the 1400 metres.
 
Race 11 SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC PACE Video  Video 
KARDESLER - broke briefly at the start.
BUZKIL - hung inwards on the final bend. Stewards will speak with driver J Geddes in the coming days regarding the manner in which he drove throughout the final straight.
CAESAR'S QUEST - held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
MYIDEALSON - when spoken to regarding the performance of this gelding, driver J Cox reported that his horse had over-raced throughout when positioned in the open.
MEMPHIS MAC - raced roughly leaving the final bend and had to be steadied by driver C DeFilippi. Mr DeFilippi advised that the gelding had not handled the grass track surface and was again disappointed with his efforts. He further advised that it was his intention to reassess his racing future.
