Race 1 MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM MANAWATU HARNESS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
COMMANDO ONE - slow away and then broke shortly after the start.
ABOVE THE REST - broke racing into the first bend.
AUNTY JAN - over-raced middle stages. Trotted unevenly racing down the back straight the last time and the remainder of the journey.
CHILTONS VOCATION - tired from the 500 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance record of this mare.
MISTRESS CASTLETON - gave ground final stages.
MALABAR SPUR - broke passing the 1400 metres losing all chance.
THANKS SHANE - trotted roughly just short of the winning post.
DESERT STORM - broke for several strides approaching the first turn losing ground before settling.
 
Race 2 THE WRIGHT DECORATORS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JACK BATES - over-raced during middle stages when three back on the inner. Locked wheels approaching the 400 metres losing several lengths.
TURNBULLS - raced three wide between the 1700 and 1000 metres before crossing to race outside the leader. Lay in approaching the 400 metres and locked wheels. Weakened out inside the 400 metres.
LYNTON CREEK - inconvenienced near the 400 metres.
PURE DESIRE - inclined to lay out throughout.
 
Race 3 PAUL CLARIDGE ELECTRICAL HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
INSIGNIFICANT - broke at the start losing considerable ground and its chance.
PRIMUS INTER PARES - held up over the early stages of the run home.
THE SCRUFF - broke losing considerable ground passing the 700 metres.
LOKI BROGDEN - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend and until inside the last 100 metres.
MASTER MONARCHY - raced four and five wide rounding the home bend. Driver J Curtin advised that the gelding was inclined to lay out which didn't assist its progress over the latter stages of the race.

STRAWB'S REGAL ACT - raced three wide from the 1200 metres.
BATTLE BORN - raced three wide over the early stages. Weakened inside the last 400 metres finishing well back.
MINIKIN - raced three wide for the first 700 metres. Weakened out inside the last 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was lame in the left fore. The mare was stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
GO PADDY - raced three wide with cover over the early and middle stages.
PRIME SILVER - raced three wide with cover over the early and middle stages. Driver A Donnelly admitted a charge of excessive use of the whip when driving the mare out over the concluding stages. The JCA imposed a fine of $400.
JERSEY JOE WALCOTT - weakened inside the last 600 metres finishing well back. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 5 RUSSELL SHIRLEY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DASHING DANE - weakened inside the last 500 metres inconveniencing trailing runners.
BOURBON STREET - back from position over the latter stages of the score-up. Driver S Abernethy was cautioned in regard to maintaining his barrier position at the start.
LIVADIA - weakened inside the last 500 metres.
STRAWB'S CHIPPIE - raced keenly down the back straight the last time and was heavily restrained off the back of a tiring runner past the 500 metres. Lay in rounding the final bend.
DIAMOND DELIGHT - weakened inside the 700 metres finishing well back.
 
Race 6 FOCUS PLANNING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SUNDARA - raced fierce when being restrained after the start.
BOBBIE'S GIRL - Driver S Dickson was charged under Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively on his mare over the concluding stages. The JCA adjourned the hearing to a date and venue to be fixed after Mr Dickson refused to attend the inquiry. An investigation was opened and also adjourned sine die in relation to the manner in which Mr Dickson conducted himself at the initial Stewards interview.
ARTANNE - Driver S Phelan was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 500 metres.
NERVE OF STEEL - placed in restricted room passing the 500 metres and gave ground final stages.
TUHERBS TWO - broke inside the 1000 metres losing its chance and was retired from the event. It was established that the hopple shortener cord had become entangled around this gelding's hind leg after having released correctly which caused it to become unbalanced and gallop. No further action was deemed necessary.
 
Race 7 R & S FLOOR COATINGS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
IMAJOLLYWALLY - held up final stages when unable to obtain clear running and as a result Driver A Donnelly did not activate the removable deafeners.
PRIME LUSTRE - raced roughly when held up late in the run home.
JONAH JONES - held up over the final stages of the run home.
SHARDON'S PEARL - the near side sulky shaft broke during the running placing Driver P Ferguson at a considerable disadvantage. The sulky was inspected and found to be in good condition.
HUDY HAXWELL - held up over the final stages when unable to obtain clear running and as a result Driver S Phelan did not activate the removable deafeners.
 
Race 8 LINTON STREET VIP CLUB MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ARE YOU READY GIRL - held up early final turn.
MOLLY SIMS - stumbled and almost fell passing the 1000 metres and was pulled up. A warning was placed against this mare's racing manners.
JANRON - broke in the score-up losing considerable ground before being retired from the event during the middle stages. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of this gelding.
THE HURRICANE - was slow to begin and trailed the field throughout the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 9 NEW CENTRAL HOTEL WOODVILLE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DIAMOND PRINCE - paced roughly then broke with 1000 metres to run losing its chance. The gelding was stood down for 14 days.
