STOP MEANS STOP - raced wide early stages. Over-raced middle stages. Held up through the early and middle stages of run home. Stewards questioned driver J Dunn regarding his decision to shift wider near the 150 metres instead of attempting a run between PEGASUS MERRILY and AVEROSS FERRARI. After assessing the explanation of Mr Dunn and reviewing the incident, Stewards deemed that Mr Dunn had erred in not attempting the run where there was sufficient room, however were of the opinion his actions had not had an adverse effect on the mare's placing and so took the matter no further other than to remind him to drive in a manner that does not leave him open to query.

Mr Holmes explained that he had anticipated the trailing horse (FATIMA SIAD) shifting inwards to occupy the passing lane and so angled outwards. He then added the leader (MONET GRACE) had shifted up the track marginally creating extra room in the passing lane however by that time SANS LE SOU had become established to his inside causing him to have to steady and remain held up throughout the run home. After considering his explanation Stewards took the matter no further.
