Trainer R Villiger advised that the mare SPARE CHANGE (Race 8) would be racing in season. Following a Club administration error DANKE was incorrectly scratched from Race 6 instead of SOLDIER in Race 5. This error was corrected at 4.00pm on 30 November 2016 with the approval of the Chairman of the Board of Harness Racing New Zealand. There was a late change of Driver with the approval of the Stewards for ARMABLUECHIPBOY in Race 8 with D Ferguson taking the drive. |

SHARDS PHOENIX - paced roughly rounding the first bend when Driver A Poutama restrained in an attempt to find a trail. After moving forward down the back straight commenced to over-race. Forced three wide near the 1100 metres when not making a forward movement and then gave ground from the 700 metres. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. | |
