Trainer N Williamson has advised Stewards that subsequent to its performance at Kaikoura, TAS MAN BROMAC was found to be suffering from dehydration and is now having a brief spell.

Race 1 METROPOL MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
BEG HALL - broke after 100 metres settling at the rear.
LISA MARIE P - broke in the score up checking the trailing YOUNG STRANGER with a false start being declared. Driver M Perriton elected to remain in her barrier position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. Driver M Perriton fined $300 by the JCA for using her whip excessively in the run home.
DARK OPS - raced wide throughout. Weakened from the 400 metres.
THE FOX - held up for some distance passing the 600 metres.
BOURBON AND DRY - raced wide in the early stages. Trotted roughly over the final 1200 metres. Weakened near the 400 metres. Stewards questioned driver R McIlwrick regarding his tactics in the middle stages when taking his runner forwards from the unruly to race parked throughout having some influence on the fast tempo being dictated. Mr McIlwrick explained his gelding is notoriously difficult to drive and on previous occasions had broken when he had attempted to restrain. Mr McIlwrick added the gelding had travelled keenly throughout and raced roughly from the 1200 metres and because of this felt it in his best interests to maintain a solid tempo. After reviewing the films Stewards accepted his explanation.
 
Race 2 MACCA LODGE 'SOUTH OF THE WAITAKI' MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JAYEDGAR - when spoken to regarding the performance driver B Orange explained the gelding had been hanging inwards and was under pressure from the 1000 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a suspensory ligament injury to the left fore leg. A veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming.
FLASHING ON - began racing roughly passing the 900 metres and broke with 600 metres to run.
FRANK THE TANK - raced wide from the 700 metres.
BETTOR ENFORCE - a post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate. Trainer A Beck advised he will have blood tests taken and Stewards will follow up in the coming days.
MAN I'M GOOD - weakened passing the 500 metres. Driver A Kyle was spoken to regarding his use of the whip when out of contention.
ZENMACH - had to be steadied passing the 350 metres when awkwardly positioned to the inside of ONE DIRECTION.
ONE DIRECTION - driver Z Butcher was spoken to advisedly for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 350 metres.
RAKAROLLA - hung outwards in the early stages. Shifted ground outwards throughout the run home. Driver C Barron was issued with a warning for failing to correct his gelding and maintain a straight course.
DACHY - hung inwards on the bend near the 1500 metres. Inconvenienced near the 400 metres and had to shift outwards.
 
Race 3 PENINSULAR BEACHFRONT RESORT 'MOOLOOLABA' HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
JAYCEEKAY - broke at the start and lost its chance.
TWELVE MONKEYS - held up on the final bend and had to shift wider to obtain clear running passing the 100 metres.
LE LIEVRE'S GIFT - broke after 200 metres. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until it was confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
PYRAMID MAGIC - broke at the start.
FEATHER BOYZ - hung outwards for a short distance approaching the 1200 metres.
MONTY PYTHON - broke at the start and lost its chance.
WATERLOO SUNSET - paced after 300 metres and lost considerable ground when being restrained.
SPRINGBANK EDEN - broke at the start and lost its chance.
GOLDEN GATE - shifted outwards in the run home when placed under pressure. Driver R McIlwrick was warned in future to make a better effort to maintain a straight course.
 
Race 4 GRAPHITE DEVELOPMENTS SHOW DAY FUTURITY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DAYLIGHT ROBBERY - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Will now be drawn unruly for mobile racing.
YANKEE TARA - over-raced in the middle stages. Broke passing the 500 metres and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to have sustained a fractured hind pastern and was humanely euthanised.
CRACKARED - tired from the 800 metres. Trainer B Hill advised the mare will be sent for a spell.
NICKY'S LOGIC - raced roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied.
THISISMYLASTFLIGHT - over-raced in the middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend.
 
Race 5 METALCRAFT ROOFING HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
LINTON SHARD - began awkwardly. Lay inwards throughout the final straight.
JOHNNY EYRE - had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room near the 150 metres. Driver S Ottley reported the deafeners had become entangled and were unable to be activated.
STROKE OF LUCK - broke briefly at the start.
THE FAITHFUL - paced roughly at the 200 metres.
 
Race 6 FAHEY FENCE HIRE FFA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CLASSIE BRIGADE - held up leaving the final bend. When spoken to regarding the horse's performance driver R May reported the entire had travelled lethargically throughout and that due to it being fresh up anticipated that it would derive considerable benefit from the run.
VALOR LUSTRE - underwent a post-race veterinary examination after making an abnormal respiratory noise which revealed some mucus in the upper airway. Trainer I Court advised he would have the mare further examined in the coming days. Stewards will follow up with Mr Court.
BRILLIANT STRIKE - driver B Orange reminded that at all times his whip is to remain within the sulky confines.
MAVERICK - hung inwards leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 7 PEEK EXHIBITION - ALF HUGHES MEMORIAL MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
EVERYBODY KNOWS - broke at the 1350 metres. Driver R May reported the gelding had over-raced and trotted roughly in consequence. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until it was confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations.
DESTINY JONES - broke passing the 350 metres.
BLAZING UNDER FIRE - raced roughly for a short distance near the 950 metres and lost ground. Held up on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home. Driver M Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.
 
Race 8 SHEPHERD & ROUT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GOTTA DEL - broke in the score up checking CHRISTOPHER BANNER resulting in a false start being declared. Driver D Dunn elected to remove the boring pole and remain in his barrier position for the re-start. Warning placed on barrier record. Checked racing into the first bend.
ART EXHIBIT - had to be steadied racing into the first bend.
GUPTA'S CULLEN - checked racing into the first bend.
SHARDS HALO - carried a flat tyre from the 1000 metres.
BENICIO - checked racing into the first bend.
FRANCO TEXAS - broke racing into the first bend checking BENICIO, GUPTA'S CULLEN, GOTTA DEL and LETSPENDANITETOGETHA. Warning placed on racing record. Driver J Young reported it was the stable's intention to restrict the gelding's racing to standing start events in the immediate future. Driver J Young charged under Rule 869(3)(b) in that she allowed her runner to contact the sulky wheel of SHARDS HALO near the 1000 metres when shifting outwards. Miss Young admitted the breach and had her licence suspended by the JCA from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 20 November 2016 (2 days).
LETSPENDANITETOGETHA - checked racing into the first bend.
 
Race 9 HARAS des TROTTEURS DOMINION TROT (STANDING START) Video  Video 
HABIBTI - held up final bend.
VALMAGNE - held up final bend.
SHEEMON - struck pylons on the first bend when awkwardly positioned to the inside of VALMAGNE. Held up final bend, having to shift wider near the 300 metres.
DARYL BOKO - broke at the start
ALLEY WAY - weakened on the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate. The connections advised the gelding will be sent for a spell. The connections were advised the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
MONBET - driver R May was warned to change his whip action.
ARYA - held up for a short distance near the 500 metres.
AMARETTO SUN - improved wide from the 1600 metres to race parked from the 1200 metres and weakened from the 500 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson could offer no explanation and advised she was disappointed with the gelding's effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed stomach discomfort and the gelding to be in an agitated state. Trainer K Ford reported the horse would be treated. Stewards will follow up in the coming days regarding the horse's recovery.
QUITE A MOMENT - began awkwardly.
 
Race 10 NEVELE R SIRES STAKES SOUTHERN MARES CLASSIC (MOBILE) Video  Video 
AMERICAN TART - at the request of the connections the mare underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was diagnosed with the thumps.
BRONZE OVER - hung outwards in the early stages. Driver J Dickie issued with a warning for the use of his whip in the run home.
ASHES TO WINGS - hampered shortly after the start.
ALIANTE - raced wide in the early stages. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after returning to the stables with a wound to its near side knee. This required stapling and the administration of antibiotics. A clearance is required prior to the horse returning to the races.
EXPRESSIVE VICTOR - when spoken to regarding the mare's performance driver R May explained she had been unsuited to racing wide in the middle stages and disappointed him with its efforts in the run home.
 
Race 11 WOODLANDS NEW ZEALAND FREE FOR ALL (MOBILE) Video  Video 
NO DOCTOR NEEDED - held up on the final bend.
LOCHARBURN - raced wide throughout and raced roughly near the 1400 metres. Driver J Dunn reported the entire had struck a knee. Weakened on the final bend.
DREAM ABOUT ME - had to shift wider to improve near the 400 metres.
MOSSDALE CONNER - driver R May admitted using his whip excessively in the run home and the JCA imposed a fine of $500.
 
Race 12 XCM SPORT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TACHYON - weakened on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance of the filly driver N Rasmussen advised she had been disappointed with the filly's efforts but felt she had been unsuited to such a strong tempo over 2600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LLOYDIN MAGIC - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced roughly throughout. Broke passing the 1800 metres.
FREEDOM FIGHTER - Stewards spoke with driver J Dunn regarding the improved performance and tractability of his gelding. Mr Dunn explained they had changed to a heavier set of hopples which the gelding had appreciated.
MARTIN JOHN - over-raced in the middle stages.
