Race 4 - EQUIVET HANDICAP TROT
After viewing additional replay footage an Information was filed charging Mr Martin under Rule 868(1) in that he caused or permitted his gelding to be run other than on its merits as a result of his actions and/or lack of actions over the final 200 metres and/or Rule 868(2) in that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures over the final 200 metres to ensure his gelding was given full opportunity to win the race. The JCA adjourned the matter with a date and venue to be fixed.

Race 1 CHAPPLE ARCHITECTURE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
ABOVE THE REST - Driver K Chittenden was questioned regarding an incident approaching the 1000 metres where he shifted to a position in the one out running line with DANKE being forced to a three wide position as a result. It was established that although Mr Chittenden had commenced the shift prior to reaching the 1000 metres due to the loose nature of the one out running line that DANKE had not been forced wider on the track until inside the 1000 metres.
CHILTONS VOCATION - Lost its position passing the 700 metres then weakened out.
AUNTY JAN - Over-raced middle stages.
MALABAR SPUR - Weakened inside the last 500 metres.
MAJESTIC BLAZE - Broke racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. Broke again passing the 1700 metres.
MIGHTY SUNNY - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced last night at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting and was passed fit to start.
DANKE - Broke at the start losing considerable ground.
 
Race 2 MARTIN BEVERAGE PAINTERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LUCKY LUCIANO - Raced keenly middle stages. Broke passing the 700 metres when being restrained off the back of BOURBON STREET losing all chance. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
WAINGARO MARA - Badly held up over final stages when unable to secure clear running. Driver D Ferguson reported that he did not activate the sliding blinds or deafeners.
SUNDARA - Slipped its over-check shortly after the start. Driver S Dickson was charged under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove his mare carelessly shifting inward from a three wide position causing interference to SOLDIER with 1700 metres to run. The charge was admitted with the JCA imposing a fine of $300.
SOLDIER - Checked and broke near the 1700 metres and was retired from the event.
KIWI TINTIN - Inconvenienced briefly passing the 700 metres. Driver D Butcher reported that he elected not to activate the hopple shorteners, which were up one hole, due to the colt pacing roughly shortly after the start. Mr Butcher also advised that a knee boot had dropped during the running.
 
Race 3 MANAWATU ITM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
COTTONWOOD - Swung sideways and refused to follow the mobile in the initial stages of the score-up and was back from position at dispatch. This mare was placed on the unruly for future mobiles. Inconvenienced by the tiring AMERICAN MARY racing down the back the final time.
GLENDENE - Driver D Butcher was cautioned for failing to maintain his position at dispatch.
AMERICAN MARY - Over-raced during the middle stages when three back on the markers and compounded from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a delayed post race recovery.
NERVE OF STEEL - Inconvenienced early stages of score-up and back from position at dispatch.
STRAVAGANZA - Inconvenienced early stages of score-up and back from position at dispatch.
REBEL RICHIE - Back from the unruly position at dispatch.
GO PADDY - Back from the unruly position at dispatch.
 
Race 4 FAR NORTH SISTERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The start of this race was delayed two minutes at the request of the TAB.
EXTRA GUINNESS - Broke in the score-up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed against this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
JANRON - Over-raced middle stages when four back on the marker line. When questioned in relation to the tactics he adopted during the middle stages Driver S Doody stated that he had been reluctant to shift out to lead up the one out running line as the gelding had performed well on the first day when driven with cover and saved for one run. He further added that although held up briefly on the final turn that the gelding had only battled over the final stages.
TENNYSON INLET - Paced roughly when attempting to improve three wide during the middle stages. Gave ground from the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
OUR WICKLOW - Broke short after start and settled at the rear. Broke again near the 1000 metres and was retired from the event. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
 
Race 5 FOCUS PLANNING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RALPH ELLIOTT - Pulled hard in the middle stages after surrendering the lead with Driver S Dickson then improving forward to again find the front. Continued to pull hard in the lead racing down the back the last time.
 
Race 6 MANELINE FARRIER SUPPLIES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
SPEEDY EARL - Underwent a veterinary examination after having raced in Race 1 and was cleared to start. Broke for several strides at the start.
DANKE - Underwent a veterinary examination after having raced in Race 1 and was cleared to start. Tightened first turn. Broke passing the 500 metres losing its chance.
HARRY H - Was slow to start. Broke entering the first turn losing all chance.
THE SCRUFF - Driver P Ferguson was cautioned for the manner in which he drove on the first turn which resulted in DANKE being tightened on the first turn.
 
Race 7 GATTSCHE CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TUAPEKA TROY - Gave ground final turn impeding CUT THE CARDS and COLLECTION.
CUT THE CARDS - Held up final turn.
SWEET ALICE - Raced three wide for the first 600 metres before being restrained back towards the rear. Lay in. Held up early final turn.
DANSE MACABRE - Over-raced middle stages when mid-field on the outer.
SOLDIER - Underwent a veterinary examination after racing in Race 2 and was cleared to start. Paced roughly in score-up and was back at dispatch. A warning was placed against its mobile barrier manners record.
COLLECTION - Held up final turn.
BENNYANDTHEJETS - Held up early final turn. Driver S Abernethy reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to being late working clear.
