LINDY'S DREAM - broke in the score up and lost considerable ground.
FRANCO NADAL - raced wide and without cover from the 1100 metres, weakened near the 400 metres.
SHADY SADIE - lay outwards throughout the final straight.
TERESKOVA - held up and inconvenienced near the 400 metres.
 
Race 2 SALT AND PEPPER HOKI BITES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
THIS EXCUSE IS FINE - raced roughly in the early stages and was steadied near the 2000 metres. Held up late in the run home.
URBAN TIGER - hung inwards in the early stages and for a short distance became awkwardly positioned near the sulky wheel of SHADOW PASS. Cast a shoe during the running.
WESTWIND FLYER - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up on the final bend.
LAREDO TORPEDO - raced roughly near the 1200 metres when being restrained to take cover behind the improving three wide runners.
 
Race 3 HEINZ WATTIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
THREE KISSES - broke shortly after the start and lost considerable ground. Driver L. Hollis reported the hopple shorteners had released prematurely. A warning was placed on the filly's mobile barrier record. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until it could be confirmed that the filly had not been in breach of the Breaking Horses Regulations.
WRANGLER - hung outwards through the back straight on the final occasion. Hung inwards under pressure on the final bend and struck markers, briefly unbalancing M. McKendry in the sulky causing him to drop his foot from the sulky footrest for several strides. Driver M. McKendry reported the gelding had raced erratically throughout.
COWBOYS N ALIENS - hung outwards near the 1700 metres for some distance.
COBRA BANNER - raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend and was inclined to run out throughout the run home.
LADY BELLISSIMO - raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up throughout the run home. Driver S. Phelan reported that because of this he had not activated the mare's sliding blinds.
 
Race 4 MOVENPICK MILE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
VASARI - raced keenly in the early stages. When spoken to regarding the performance of his colt Driver D. Butcher explained that after being outpaced in the early stages, he had become positioned further back than he anticipated and when taking into account the considerable rise in class and the overall time he had been satisfied with its efforts.
ROCKER BAND - Hung out over the middle stages. Hung inwards over the final stages, having to be steadied by Driver S. Ottley. Driver S. Ottley reported the mare had given her some difficulty throughout.
ALIANTE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
SHANDALE - Stewards spoke with Driver M. McKendry regarding the manner in which he drove near 1200 metres when restraining his entire which allowed VASARI to shift outwards. Mr McKendry advised his entire was better suited when driven with cover and being fresh up from a considerable spell he felt it in his best interests to not race parked throughout.
 
Race 5 ANCHOR FOOD PROFESSIONALS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FULL SPEED AHEAD - over-raced middle stages. Inconvenienced near the 1600 metres when crowded for racing room and had to be steadied.
BEVAN'S CULLEN - Stewards spoke with Driver B. Mangos regarding his runner being taken to a three wide position near the 1600 metres. Mr Mangos explained that STRIKE THE GOLD had shifted outwards ahead of him and when considering the recent racing nature of his gelding felt it in his best interests to shift outwards and continue to improve as opposed to attempting to retrain and race with cover.
SIR RICHIE - raced three wide for the first 800 metres. Unable to gain clear racing room throughout the final straight.
MINSTREL BOY - had difficulty finding clear racing room over the concluding stages. S. Abernethy will be questioned in the coming days in regard to the tactics he adopted over the initial stages of the race in regard to the manner in which he maintained the lead.
JO'S DREAM - Unable to gain clear racing room throughout the final straight. Driver S. Grayling was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground inwards near the 1800 metres when insufficiently clear of FULL SPEED AHEAD, this placed FULL SPEED AHEAD in restricted room requiring Driver T. Macfarlane to restrain his gelding. Junior Driver S. Grayling will be questioned in the coming days in regard to the tactics he adopted over the initial stages of the race when attempting to get the lead.
LOLA JONES - raced keenly near the 1500 metres when being restrained.
MO CASINO - made contact with the left wheel of NO WAY ELSE near the 1300 metres and raced roughly for several strides. Driver Z. Butcher was questioned regarding the incident. Mr Butcher explained that he had attempted to shift outwards around NO WAY ELSE which was hanging inwards, however, that runner was then corrected and shifted outwards slightly which led to him being awkwardly positioned near its sulky wheel for a short distance with him then making contact. After considering his explanation and reviewing the films Stewards accepted that NO WAY ELSE had shifted outwards marginally, however, Mr Butcher was advised that in future he was expected to display a higher level of care.

Race 6 LEADER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SOUL MAN - over-raced in the middle stages.
DEFY THE ODDS - raced roughly on the final bend and lost ground. Driver J. MacKinnon explained the gelding had been striking a knee.
DESTINED FOR HEAVEN - raced roughly passing the 150 metres.
SPEAK UP - hampered near the 400 metres and had to shift wider to improve.
 
Race 7 BEEHIVE HANDICAP 2016 HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
GEORGE - broke inside the last 100 metres and continued in a gallop over the line. After reviewing the film, it became apparent GEORGE had galloped in excess of 50 metres over the final 200 metres and was disqualified from the race by the J.C.A. under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulations.
MONNAY - no claims lodged.
BLACKGUARD'S CORNER - trotted roughly throughout the run home.
SCARRYMCLEARY - locked wheels briefly near the 150 metres. Stewards spoke with J. Dickie regarding the run of his gelding. Mr Dickie advised the gelding had been slow away which had cost him considerable ground. He added that he had considered shifting very wide on the final bend to improve, however, took an opportunity near the pylons which had presented itself. Mr Dickie said that he had expected his gelding to run into a prominent position, however, lost his momentum when hampered near the 100 metres.
 
Race 8 BAKELS EDIBLE OILS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHRISSIE JET - heavily checked racing into the first bend.
HADRIAN - checked racing into the first bend losing considerable ground. A post race Veterinary examination showed the gelding to be suffering from the thumps. The horse was treated and Stewards will follow up it's recovery in the coming days with trainer C Wigg.
WYNBERG SALLY - Junior Driver J. Crawford was charged under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly shifting inwards when insufficiently clear of HADRIAN which broke badly with resultant interference to trailing runners. The charge was admitted and his horseman's licence was suspended after 5th November 2016 up to and including 18th November 2016 (three race days).
IDEAL ROMAN - Driver J. MacKinnon reported that he had not activated the winner's deafeners.
BOOMING JET - hung inwards in the early stages and made contact with the sulky of STUNNING SHADOW resulting in S. Grayling becoming unbalanced for a short distance. Checked racing into the first bend.
ZAKSPATROL - no claims lodged. Shifted wider around breaking runners first bend.Raced keenly near the 1300 metres and on several occasions made contact with the helmet of S. Grayling (STUNNING SHADOW)
STUNNING SHADOW - shortly after the start received a minor check. Checked racing into the first bend and sustained a punctured sulky tyre.
 
Race 9 NESTLE SPEEDY SMOOTHIES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
The start was delayed as an announcement was required to be made regarding a missing child.
AMANDA'S SPUR - broke racing into the first turn.
LOVEONTHELAWN - broke shortly after the start. Raced roughly on the final bend when held up.
STALLBACKSKUNGEN - broke at the start and shifted outwards abruptly. Broke again over the final stages.
OPAWA SPEED - impeded by the galloping AMANDA'S SPUR on the first bend.
BLOOD AND WHISKY - raced wide and without cover from the 1250 metres.
MAJESTIC GAL - broke on the bend near the 1800 metres. Held up throughout the run home.
MR NATURAL - broke passing the 1700 metres.
MIGHTY SUNNY - hung inwards on the final bend.
TE KOUKA BREEZE - held up in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 10 SHORE MARINER SPRINT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SPOOKY - severely impeded by a tiring runner rounding the final bend and was held up for a considerable distance.
DENNIS LILLEE - weakened inside the last 400 metres. When questioned regarding the horses performance driver J. Abernethy advised that after leading early he restrained it to a trail in behind BOPPER JET and at that point the gelding commenced to over-race which took its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
HARPER FRANCO - impeded by a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
STARS DELIGHT - dislodged a pylon passing the 800 metres. Inclined to lay in on the bends.
TURBULENT FLOW - Driver T. Mitchell was warned to correct his whip action.
