PIRATE BAY - shifted outwards near the 1300 metres for a short distance.
SANDRA KEITH - weakened near the 800 metres. Stewards questioned driver A Lowe regarding the manner in which he drove in the early and middle stages while racing in the parked position and electing to maintain an advantage over the leading PIRATE BAY. Mr Lowe explained he had been unable to restrain his mare at any stage due to it over-racing and giving him some difficulty. After considering his explanation and reviewing the films, Stewards issued A Lowe with a charge under Rule 868(2) in that he failed to take all reasonable measures to ensure his horse finished in the best possible placing. After viewing the films and hearing evidence, the JCA upheld the charge and suspended Mr Lowe's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 18 December 2016.
