Pre-race blood testing was carried out.

Due to the inclement track conditions, mudguards were ordered to be worn for Races 1 - 4.

The track was upgraded to Good prior to Race 5.

The start of Race 8 was delayed two minutes to 4.16pm at the request of the TAB due to the false start in the previous race.

Race 3 - G J GARDNER HOMES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
Co-trainer G Knight has advised Stewards that blood tests taken from TUAPEKA HELEN subsequent to her disappointing performance at Ascot Park last Saturday have revealed that the mare was suffering from severe tie-up with this now being treated.
Race 10 - ADVANCE AGRICULTURE LTD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
Trainer C Barron has informed Stewards that DANCING DIXIE was found to be suffering from boils in its wither region which may have explained its disappointing effort at Ascot Park last weekend. He added that the mare has recovered well since and will be set for a standing start event at Gore next weekend.

Driver T Chmiel admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively in the home straight when driving MIGHTY EMPIRE. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA suspended his Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 16 October 2016 - (2 days).

ANOTHER CHAPTER - slow in the early stages after beginning awkwardly.
TROUBLE GIERO - broke shortly after the start. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until it was confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of the trainer.
QUEST STAR - hung inwards in the home straight.
RED HOT POKER - paced shortly after the start losing ground.
ANSE VATA - held up in the early stages of the run home. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
SHAY SCOTT - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly rounding the final bend and made the bend into the home straight awkwardly. Driver K McCormick advised the gelding had been striking a knee.
ROSETTA STONE - hung inwards leaving the final bend.
STAR CANDIDATE - trotted roughly in the home straight.
 
Race 2 BISHOPDALE & BUSH INN TABS/TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MIDNIGHT COWBOY - paced roughly and broke briefly in the early stages. Checked racing into the first bend and struck pylons. Gave ground final bend.
JAYEES SUPREME - checked racing into the first bend. Shifted inwards near the 1500 metres in an attempt to obtain the trail. Driver R Reekie was warned to exercise care when shifting ground. Weakened considerably from the 900 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Warning placed on racing performance. The connections advised the gelding would be retired.
ONEDIN HIGHLANDER - shifted inwards racing into the first bend checking several runners resulting in the inside sulky wheel of ONEDIN HIGHLANDER being punctured. Momentarily placed in restricted room near the 1500 metres. Driver A White admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly racing into the first bend. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
BETTOR BACKIM - broke in the score up then raced keenly. Hung inwards negotiating the first bend.
WAIHEMO ART - paced roughly in the home straight.
ALEXY - checked racing into the first bend and forced to race inside pylons.
STYLISH BABE - The connections advised the mare had been served and would be racing in season. Hung inwards passing the 600 metres. Driver J McDermott was warned for using his whip when out of contention.

FATIMA SIAD - hampered shortly after the start.
HARD N FAST - breached the barrier strand resulting in the field being turned away to reassemble and was sent to the unruly position where it will remain for future standing starts. Raced wide in the early stages before improving to the parked position near the 1800 metres. Raced wide down the back straight on the last occasion before weakening from the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
LINDA'S CULLEN - broke shortly after the start. Hung inwards and broke briefly after 200 metres. Hung inwards over the concluding stages.
NIMISHA FRANCO - displayed poor barrier manners and will now be placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Broke in the early stages and again when negotiating the first bend.
CRAFTY CULLEN - displayed poor barrier manners and was placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Slow in the early stages. Raced wide before reaching the lead near the 1700 metres.
LIVING GLORY - Connections advised the mare would be racing in season. Displayed poor barrier manners. A warning was placed on the standing start record. The connections advised that they would be making gear changes and return the mare to the trials from a stand prior to resuming.
COME AND GO - tangled away. Had difficulty obtaining clear room in the early stages of the home straight.
BOBBY M - hampered shortly after the start.
SWEET MARYLOU - slow to begin.
 
Race 4 EMPIRE HOTEL TEMUKA SOCIAL CLUB MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHIEF KAPAI - raced wide in the early stages.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS - Trainer E Latimer was fined $100 for presenting this gelding with the incorrect number. Paced roughly near the 250 metres.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT - paced roughly and broke briefly near the 500 metres losing several lengths when improving wide on the track. Driver D Dunn reported the gelding had ducked in and placed no blame on any other runner. When further questioned regarding the performance, Mr Dunn expressed disappointment. Trainer G Anderson advised he would be giving the gelding a respite from racing and intended to make gear alterations prior to resuming.
JACK HAMMER - held up leaving the final bend and until late in the run home.

LAKEISHA - raced keenly in the middle stages.
ALTA TERESA - when spoken to regarding the performance of the filly driver R Close reported that he was obliged to work hard in the early stages to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll.
MAW OF A WOMAN - raced keenly in the middle stages. Driver G O'Reilly reported that the mare may have choked down.
NARELLE FRANCO - hung inwards throughout the run home.
SANDRA KEITH - raced wide through the early and middle stages. The inside number hung loose during the running. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after returning to the check in area with blood in its mouth which revealed the mare had bitten her tongue.
GREY SKIES - held up throughout the home straight.
DELISHKA - hung in the score up and was back slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn. Hung inwards in the early stages.
HOMEFORLIFE - hung inwards leaving the final bend and paced roughly.
 
Race 6 BROSNAN TRANSPORT LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LAYTONS LASS - the off side number hung loose during the running.
ALSA LUSTRE - held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
STONEY EYRE - broke approaching the first bend losing ground. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial.
THE PERSUADER - raced keenly shortly after the start.
HAPPY HEIDI - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver J Cox reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.
 
Race 7 PORT FM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MICKY FLYNN - bucked in the score up and shifted outwards abruptly checking several runners causing a false start. Sent to the unruly for the re-start where it will remain for future mobile starts.
COBRA BANNER - delayed the re-start due to the sulky requiring replacement. Raced wide early stages. Over-raced passing the 1400 metres. Hung inwards and paced roughly on the final bend and continued to hang inwards and pace roughly in the home straight. Driver J Dunn could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - raced wide early stages.
EL DANCER - raced roughly in the early stages. Inclined to hang inwards when racing round the bends.
DIOS DEL FUEGO - checked first bend. Hung inwards in the home straight.
PAY ME INTEREST - checked first bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
MACADOR - hung inwards over the concluding stages.
MYBOYLOLLIEPOP - broke negotiating the first bend losing its chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
REMACHABLE IDEA - checked and broke negotiating the first bend.
GLENFERRIE DUSTER - hung in the score up and was back slightly at the start.
 
Race 8 EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
REDWOOD INVASION - broke near the 400 metres when leading. Broke passing the 250 metres.
DREAM BIG - hampered near the 400 metres.
ELLA ABBE - hampered near the 400 metres. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the home straight. Brushed pylons near the 150 metres. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in particular the reasons for not improving into the running line near the 1400 metres, driver R May advised the mare is best suited to being driven with a sit and is inclined to over-race in the open. Given this he was of the opinion it was in his best interests to stay on the marker line. Mr May further added that this mare will continue to be driven with a sit in its upcoming starts.
SHPEEDY - broke approaching the first bend.
PRETORIUS - hampered near the 400 metres. Hung outwards and trotted roughly in the home straight.
DON'T LOOK BACK - raced keenly in the middle stages. Driver C DeFilippi briefly dropped his foot from the sulky rest leaving the final bend. Placed in restricted room just prior to the finish.
MAJESTIC DE FENCE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly and broke passing the 1000 metres. Broke passing the 300 metres.
SOLAR STORM - driver J Curtin was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
DEBANEYRE - hung inwards in the home straight.

PRECIOUS SARA - charged the barrier strand and had to be turned away to reassemble. Warning placed on the standing start record of the mare. Broke at the start. Hung inwards in the home straight.
AUDI HARE - held up in the early stages of the home straight.
ARDENT LUSTRE - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
HARD DAYS NIGHT - hampered at the start and broke losing a considerable distance.

JEWELZ - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Hung throughout the run home. Driver D Keast advised he would be recommending gear changes. Mr Keast was shown a replay and warned to change his whip action.
GOTTA CLASSIE GIRL - raced keenly and wide in the early stages.
HOPES AND DREAMS - pre-race warmed prior to Race 9. Paced roughly shortly after the start.
