Race 5 - C.I.C. FINANCIAL GROUP & FERRYMEAD PARISH MOBILE TROT
Trainer A Faulks has advised that following its last performance at Addington on 9 September, ALVIRA HEST was found be suffering from a bruised heel which has since been treated. Mr Faulks further advised that he has adjusted the shoeing on the mare adding that she has worked well in preparation for a resumption of racing this Friday.

Race 5 - HRS CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
Trainer J Curtin has informed Stewards that ATCHOO was found to have some shoulder soreness following its run at Addington last week which may have contributed to the mare hanging throughout the run home. Mr Curtin added that this soreness has since been treated and ATCHOO has worked well in preparation for its engagement at Rangiora this Sunday.

Trainer G Bates has informed Stewards that he is of the opinion that STONEY EYRE is unsuited to grass tracks after disappointing at Methven last weekend. He further advised that the gelding will return to trials/workouts with gear changes before resuming.

Race 1 ALABAR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CULLENMORE - driver M Purdon warned regarding his position behind the mobile passing the candy pole. When spoken to regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding, M Purdon expressed disappointment and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination showed lameness in the right front leg. A veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming.
ARDEN'S ENDEAVOUR - out of position at the start. Driver S Ottley advised the gelding had raced greenly and hit the discs throughout and would now be sent for a spell. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
FATIMA SIAD - over-raced in the middle stages.
TITANIUM - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Chmiel.
DELISHKA - out of position at the start. Driver R May warned to make a better effort in future.
CMEEROCK - out of position at the start. Driver J Dunn advised the mare had baulked at the mobile and lost momentum 50 metres prior to the start resulting in him losing his position.
BLADE - out of position at the start. Driver G Smith was issued with a caution. Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Trainer/driver G Smith reported the gelding had choked down and in future where circumstances permit he intended to not place the horse on the marker line as he felt the gelding panicked when crowded.
KACHINA - out of position at the start. Driver R Close was issued with a caution.
MR SHARKEY - paced roughly shortly after the start.
 
Race 2 CANTERBURY TROTTING OWNERS ASSOCIATION HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
CHIVASION - broke after 100 metres.
ALVIRA HEST - held up early stages of the home straight.
TWELVE MONKEYS - checked at the start. Hung outwards in the home straight and shifted up the track.
THE GOD BOTHERER - swung inwards at the start checking inside runners. Warning placed on standing start record. Broke passing the 500 metres.
ROYAL SHINE - raced keenly middle stages.
DONSMEDAD - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
DOCTOR BONES - over-raced middle stages.
DESTINY JONES - checked at the start.
THE SILVER FOX -when questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, driver B Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort and felt the horse was feeling the effects of recent racing. Mr Williamson added that the gelding would be sent for a spell.
 
Race 3 NRM 3YO SIRES' STAKES SERIES (HEAT 2) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TIGER THOMPSON - hung inwards throughout. Raced keenly middle stages. Held up until near the 100 metres
BETTOR BE GOLD - lost ground on the final bend when hanging inwards and struck pylons. When questioned, driver M Purdon advised the gelding had not adapted to the sudden increase in pace near the 400 metres and became difficult to steer. Mr Purdon added the horse had strongly favoured one rein throughout the run home and he had been unable to place the gelding under any pressure.
ON THE RANTAN - driver D Dunn reported the gelding had raced too keenly and he anticipated considerable benefit would be derived from the run.
KARDESLER - raced keenly early and middle stages.
 
Race 4 CANTERBURY STANDARDBRED BREEDERS ASSOCIATION HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
ALPHA ROCK - fractious behind the tapes and broke at the start. Hung inwards and broke near the 300 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
DALNESS XCHANGE - shadow roll removed prior to the start. Raced roughly final bend and again near the 150 metres losing ground.
WOODLEA LEGEND - raced keenly when taken to the parked position from the 1500 metres.
BRILLIANT STRIKE - attempted to improve near the 500 metres but was hampered by the hanging ALPHA ROCK. Inconvenienced near the 300 metres by the galloping ALPHA ROCK having to be steadied.

ZACHARY BINX - broke near the 2100 metres.
MONTY PYTHON - Stewards questioned driver B Williamson regarding the tactics he adopted near the 2100 metres when his runner MONTY PYTHON lost his position in the trail which enabled ALLEY WAY who had been racing parked to shift inwards and follow BORDEAUX. After considering the explanation of B Williamson, Stewards adjourned the inquiry.
ARYA - began awkwardly.
DARYL BOKO - held up passing the 600 metres.
HARRYSUL - improved wide from the 1300 metres. Raced roughly and gave ground from the 600 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance of the gelding, driver R May advised that the gelding had been obliged to work hard in the middle stages with the effort taking its toll. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SUNNY RUBY - held up between the 600 metres and the 450 metres.
 
Race 6 PINELEA FARM PACE Video  Video 
WILLEDU - unable to address the barriers and was sent to the unruly position. Declared unruly for standing starts. Raced greenly middle stages. The connections advised the gelding will be restricted to mobile starts in the immediate future.
REAAL CLOVELLY - broke at the start.
PALEFACE SIOUX - held up on the final bend.
CRAFTY CULLEN - broke at the start.
ELLMERS IMAGE - hung inwards under pressure leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding driver C DeFilippi explained that he was disappointed with the effort and felt the horse may not have backed up from its last start at Methven on Sunday. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
HAPPY STYX - investigation opened into the gear worn by this horse.
TEXAS RULER - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 7 AVON CITY FORD (NEW BRIGHTON) CUP (STANDING START FFA) Video  Video 
QUICK AS A TRICK - weakened from the 300 metres.
LOCHARBURN - broke at the start and lost ground. Weakened from the 300 metres.
MOSSDALE CONNER - over-raced passing the 1300 metres when being restrained to obtain cover.
TIGER TARA - when spoken to regarding the performance of the entire driver G O'Reilly advised he was slightly disappointed with his efforts. Stewards will speak with trainer G Dunn in the coming days.
LAZARUS - held up leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
SMOLDA - paced roughly final bend. Held up throughout the home straight. Driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners. T Williams questioned as to why he did not shift outwards on the final bend to follow HAVE FAITH IN ME. Mr Williams explained HAVE FAITH IN ME had sat outside him from the 800 metres to the 400 metres and been unable to make ground. He added that near the 350 metres that gelding was under some pressure to improve and felt he would have to shift to a position no closer than six wide to gain clear running. At this time he advised he felt it was in his best interests to remain on the back of TIGER TARA who had sat in the one one throughout and felt was more likely to take him into the race. He then said that runner had weakened with him being subsequently disappointed for clear running. Stewards accepted his explanation.
HAVE FAITH IN ME - raced wide from the 800 metres. Raced roughly on the final bend.
 
Race 8 WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SHARDS HALO - held up final bend and early stages of the run home.
IMOLA - lay inwards throughout. Hung early stages of the run home and made heavy contact with the sulky wheel of BLACK REGAL PRINCESS near the 200 metres with IMOLA breaking and checking JOHNNY EYRE. Driver G Smith was questioned and then charged under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he was careless at this time. This Information was adjourned until a later date.
BALLYMORE BOY - held up leaving the final bend.
RANFURLY RULZ - inconvenienced near the 200 metres.
JOHNNY EYRE - raced wide in the early stages. Over-raced throughout. Checked and lost chance near the 200 metres.
 
Race 9 INTRODUCING NEW STALLION 'WINDSONG ESPOIR' TROT Video  Video 
JEAN SEBASTIEN - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home. Held up over the concluding stages.
HEAVENLY LOVE - trainer M Edmonds was fined $100 after presenting the gelding to race without the notified removable deafeners. Broke near the 1150 metres when improving wide on the track.
COCKTAIL WAITER - raced keenly in the middle stages. Hung inwards throughout the final straight.
BK DAWN - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Broke after 200 metres. Driver P Wakelin reported she did not activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled. P Wakelin admitted driving carelessly with 800 metres to run after striking the wheel of KINGDOM COME. After submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
KINGDOM COME - sustained punctured sulky tyre passing the 800 metres.
FORGOT TO REMEMBER - broke racing into the first bend. Held up in the home straight.
REDWOOD INVASION - hung inwards from the 600 metres. Driver R Holmes reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.
SOLAR STORM - slow in the early stages.
LINDSAY CASTLETON - raced wide in the early stages.
 
Race 10 NEVELE R STUD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HIGHLAND REIGN - held up final bend.
LIVING LEGEND - over-raced near the 1400 metres and had to be steadied. Weakened with 300 metres to run. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver J Dunn advised that the gelding had been flat from the 1100 metres when improving three wide and had been very disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
SHE'SA TRICKY BRIDGE - shifted outwards under pressure in the home straight and came together with ULTIMATE FELLA.
FLOATING ON EYRE - raced wide and without cover from the 1000 metres and gave ground on the final bend.
ULTIMATE FELLA - came together with SHE'SA TRICKY BRIDGE in the home straight.
