MISS MEDLEY - broke at the start checking trailing runners. Tired concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Warning placed on barrier record.
LUCY DIAMOND - over-raced in the middle stages. Lay inwards abruptly just prior to the finish line.
DIAMOND SUPREME - late scratching at 11am after sustaining an injury en route to the course.
ROBERT DE NIRO - lay inwards throughout the run home. Driver R May expressed disappointment with the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
TROPOSPHERE - broke in the score up. Warning placed on barrier record.
GYPSY'S CHOICE - slightly inconvenienced at the start.
SELLING THE DREAM - inconvenienced in the early stages.

BRYLIN ROSE - slightly inconvenienced with 300 metres to run.
LOLA LEIGH - broke at the start, settled then paced briefly obliging driver R Close to check this mare back into its correct gait.
HOLLY TROUBLE - broke when negotiating the first bend.
CULLEY BACKY - paced away losing its chance and was retired from the event.
RUSTY I AM - broke with 400 metres to run. Driver P Wakelin was cautioned to take a breaking runner wider on the track in future.
ONE YANKEE ANGUS - broke at the start. Over-raced in the middle stages. Broke again with 500 metres to run.

ELITE EXCUSE - broke at the start. Driver B Butt was cautioned for the manner he permitted this mare to shift down the track nearing the 700 metres.
ANGUS STAR - broke at the start. Held up through the early stages of the run home.
CLASSIE CULLECT - underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start after having blood present in its mouth and was cleared to race.
SUPREME BLUE CHIP - broke at the start.
PRECIOUS SARA - held up for clear racing room in the home straight. Driver R May advised he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the mare's removable deafeners.
ROCKNROLL NEVIN - paced roughly and shifted up the track nearing the 1000 metres.
ROZZANO - held up for clear racing room briefly nearing the 200 metres.
SANDRA KEITH - broke at the start. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Broke again with 700 metres to run after an easing of the pace.

MUSTANG BULLITT - broke at the start. Held up in the early stages of the run home.
SKETCHING - over-raced throughout.
HOMEFORLIFE - swung inwards at the start checking FRANCO GARCIA. Warning placed on the mare's barrier record. Was inclined to lay outwards throughout the run home. Driver R May advised the sliding blinds on this mare failed to activate due to becoming entangled.
FRANCO GARCIA - checked at the start. Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.

PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - broke with 500 metres to run.
CONROCK - broke at the start. Broke again nearing the 700 metres. Driver C Jordan advised they would be making alterations to the gelding's shoeing prior to resuming.
JOHNNY ALEXANDER - boring pole removed after breaking in the preliminary. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after returning to the stabling area in a distressed state. This revealed a prolonged recovery and a high heart rate with the diagnoses being that the gelding had suffered from a suspected atrial fibrillation. A veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG is required prior to resuming.
REDWOOD INVASION - trotted roughly through the early stages. Inconvenienced by breaking runner on first bend. Broke nearing the 600 metres.
SARAH PALIN - driver P Davis advised he did not activate the mare's removable deafeners.
DREAM BIG - broke at the start.
ALL SETTLED DOWN - rein pricker removed after warming up unfavourably. Broke on the first bend. Trainer/driver G Smith advised that he would be altering the mare's shoeing should it race on the grass surface in future.
SHADOW GALLEON - Driver J Smolenski cautioned to change her whip action.

There was a delay to the start after a wheel on FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY's sulky had to be changed.
CURLIMORE - hung inwards throughout the run home. Trainer/driver N McGrath advised he was disappointed with the gelding's performance and would be making alterations to its training regime prior to resuming.
MAJOR FOUR - over-raced early stages when being restrained. Held up early stages of the run home.
NICAEA FRANCO - veterinary clearance to resume was received. Over-raced early stages when being restrained. Weakend concluding stages. The connections advised the mare would now be retired to stud.
 
Race 7 PAPANUI CLUB MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
OMAR SHARIF - hung inwards and was held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. When questioned regarding his decision not to improve this horse nearing the 900 metres when the opportunity arose, Junior Horseman M Anderson advised his driving instructions were to drive the horse for one run after its disappointing performance at its previous start when working during the running. Mr Anderson confirmed the horse was proving difficult to steer throughout the run home with a subsequent veterinary examination revealing no obvious abnormalities.
DALNESS MAC - broke briefly with 1100 metres to run when awkwardly placed on a wheel after a slight easing of the pace.
CLAUS - lay inwards early stages of the run home.
ALLISON STOKKE - driver K Butt advised only one sliding blind activated.
GOTTA CLASSIE GIRL - broke racing into the first bend causing a check to trailing horses. Held up final stages.
MACH'S TERMINATOR - placed in restricted room momentarily nearing the 200 metres.
LIVE TO TELL - inconvenienced rounding the first bend.
 
Race 8 HORNBY WORKINGMEN'S CLUB HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
HOPEFUL HARRIET - held up early stages of the run home.
THE PERSUADER - broke at the start checking trailing runner. Warning placed on barrier manners. Inconvenienced at the 900 metres.
STONEY EYRE - hung outwards severely from the 1300 metres and was eased down and not persevered with for the remainder of the event. Driver G O'Reilly was of the opinion the gelding had choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
EASY RIDER - badly checked in the early stages. Inconvenienced at the 900 metres.

YOUNG STRANGER - over-raced in the middle stages. Hung inwards and broke with 700 metres to run.
STELLAR SUCCESS - broke at the start.
DIANA HARBOUR - broke in the early stages. Broke again with 700 metres to run.
PRETORIUS - broke with 250 metres to run.
FIREMAN - ran outwards in the home straight.
COCKTAIL WAITER - was inclined to lay inwards through the early stages of the run home. Driver B Crothers was questioned in regard to the manner he drove over the concluding stages as it was noted the gelding was not driven out with any vigour. After hearing Mr Crothers explanation Stewards adjourned the matter to give it further consideration.
SOLAR STORM - broke in the early stages.
STYLISH DUKE - broke shortly after the start.

LOTTIE FRANCO - held up in the early stages of the run home.
FULHAM ROYALE - held up in the early stages of the run home.
MICKEY JAY - broke at the start. Due to recent indiscretions behind the barrier strand will now be drawn unruly for standing starts.
HAPPY EVER LAUGHTER - paced roughly when improving outwards passing the 400 metres.
HALSTON BROMAC - broke at the start.
