DALNESS MAC - when questioned as to whether he could have made some effort near the 1300 metres to shift outwards and improve his position driver R McIlwrick advised he was awkwardly placed near the front legs of ROCK N ROLL DELIGHT and was mindful of breaching the push out rule. He was also conscious of the instructions he had received to drive the horse with a sit due to the mare disappointing in the past when being asked to work. Mr McIlwrick added the horse had also raced greenly in the preliminary and attempted to shy near the 1000 metres which he was mindful of. After considering his explanation the matter was taken no further.
