Stewards questioned T Chmiel as the co-trainer of LAYTONS CRUSADER (Race 3) regarding comments he made on Trackside surrounding his gelding's prospects. Mr Chmiel advised that his gelding had trialled on two occasions in preparation for this race and he believed he was well prepared to resume racing. Mr Chmiel said he believed it was unlikely his runner could beat the better supported horses in the race and then added that he had intended to advise viewers he anticipated LAYTONS CRUSADER would derive considerable benefit from the run but had erred in his choice of words. After considering the evidence available Stewards reminded Mr Chmiel of his obligations when engaging with the media. |
