Race 4 - DOMINION TRADING COMPANY HANDICAP TROT
Trainer P Williamson has advised Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Addington last week, MONNAY had blood tests taken with no abnormality reported. Mr Williamson added that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
Race 5 - MACCA LODGE TRAINED SOUTH OF THE WAITAKI (HEAT) MOBILE PACE
Blood tests taken from GANGNAM STYLE following its disappointing performance at Addington last week have revealed that the gelding is suffering from a cold which is now being treated.

THE FOOT TAPPER broke at the start.
MOY broke shortly after the start.
MR PRESTON broke passing the 2400 metres.
MR PRESTON again broke near the 2200 metres.
Near the 1600 metres SHAY SCOTT got his head up and raced roughly for several strides.
HOLLY TROUBLE broke passing the 1300 metres when trailing.
Stewards will speak with driver K McCormick (SHAY SCOTT) in the coming days regarding her use of the whip.
 
Race 2 CHRISTCHURCH CASINO FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GYPSY'S CHOICE was back at the start despite the efforts of driver J Hay inconveniencing MISSMATCH. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
GYPSY'S CHOICE raced greenly through the early stages shifting inwards and making contact with the track marker.
SUPERMOSHI paced roughly entering the first bend.
RAPID FLIGHT raced wide in the early stages and then traveled keenly when shifted into the two wide line near the 1500 metres.
SUPERMOSHI again paced roughly near the 800 metres when placed in restricted room to the outside of MADDISONS DESIRE which was shifting ground. Stewards spoke with driver's R Close and J Cox regarding this incident and after considering their explanations Stewards advised Mr Cox that it was expected that he exercise greater caution in future when shifting ground.
YUKON CLOUD had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
 
Race 3 RESOURCE RECYCLING TECHNOLOGIES NZ LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
EARTHBOUND over-raced in the early stages when being restrained.
TIJUANA BROMAC weakened near the 600 metres causing EARTHBOUND and EXPRESSIVE VICTOR to be held up for a short distance.
 
Race 4 PEEK EXHIBITION 2016 NZ JUNIOR DRIVERS CHAMPS TROT Video  Video 
At the request of the T.A.B the start of this event was put back two minutes.
I'M NOT EYRE shifted outwards at the start and trotted roughly over the early stages.
ROYAL KENNY broke shortly after the start.
Entering the first bend LOVE STRUCK ROMEO and DUSKY EYRE broke when placed in restricted room to the inside of YANKEE COMMANDO which shifted inwards. Stewards spoke with driver's B Williamson, M Anderson and K Marshall regarding this and after considering their explanations Stewards issued Mr Williamson with a charge under 869(3)(b) alleging that he had shifted inwards when not sufficiently clear. Mr Williamson admitted the breach. After taking submissions on penalty Mr Williamson had his horseman's licence suspended from the conclusion of racing today until the conclusion of racing on the 31st July 2016. (2 days)
Near the 2100 metres I'M NOT EYRE broke and lost its chance.
ROYAL KENNY again broke near the 1150 metres.
With 30 metres remaining BRADS KENNY broke and shifted outwards locking wheels with the improving THE SILVER FOX who had to be restrained.
 
Race 5 LAMB & HAYWARD PACE Video  Video 
ALLISON STOKKE, CRUZY DUDE, CULLEN'S BARDON, BALLYMORE BOY, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT and MRS BROWN'S BOY all broke at the start resulting in ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT and MRS BROWN'S BOY locking wheels for a short distance and losing further ground.
After 150 metres MILLWOOD CHARLIE broke and shifted inwards abruptly causing THE VALIANT to be taken inside the pylons and had to be steadied.
Near the 500 metres MRS BROWN'S BOY hung inwards and despite the efforts of driver J Cox shifted down the track causing some crowding to THE VALIANT which had to be steadied.
CULLEN'S BARDON and ALLISON STOKKE were held up on the final bend.
The all clear was delayed until it could be confirmed that CRUZY DUDE had not been in breach of the breaking horse regulations over the early stages.
 
Race 6 BRECKON FARMS 2016 NZ JUNIOR DRIVERS CHAMPS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CROFT BAY raced wide in the early stages.
ERROL FINN raced wide from the 700 metres.
VANHALEM over-raced in the middle stages.
NIC MAC WILLY, HUDSON SULLY and VANHALEM were held up on the final bend by the weakening CULLER CODED. A post-race veterinary examination showed the mare to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. The connections reported that it was there intention to send the mare for a spell.
VANHALEM had difficulty obtaining a clear run in the early stages of the run home.
J Young (VANHALEM) was spoken to in regards to the use of her whip in the final stages.
When spoken to regarding the improved performance of EJA PATRON. Trainer B Mowbray advised that his horse derived considerable benefit from its first up run last week which was the gelding's first run from his stable.
C Ferguson dropped his foot leaving the final bend and was issued with an information under Rule 867. Mr Ferguson admitted the breach and was fined the sum of $100.00.
 
Race 7 MACCA LODGE TRAINED SOUTH OF THE WAITAKI (HEAT) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Caretaker trainer R Dunn was issued with a $100 minor infringement notice for presenting FRANCO TYSON with sliding blinds which had not been notified.
MIGHTY FLYING DEAL raced keenly in the early stages.
MIGHTY FLYING DEAL had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
CLIFTON TACTIC hung inwards under pressure on the final bend causing the filly's sulky to race inside the marker line for a short distance.
Stewards will speak to trainer M Brown in the coming days in regard to the seemingly disappointing run of SOAPBOX.
 
Race 8 YALDHURST HOTEL 2016 NZ JUNIOR DRIVERS CHAMPS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JEWELZ over-raced throughout.
MARTIN JOHN improved wide from the 700 metres.
 
Race 9 SIMS PACIFIC METALS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
PYRAMID MAGIC was held up on the final bend by the weakening PEGASUS DREAM
 
Race 10 STORER MOTORS PACE Video  Video 
MIGHTY AMERICAN, ANNA IVY, ILDIVO, HALL OF FAME and AVEROSS BRACHOLE broke at the start with KOTARE KASAI being inconvenienced by breaking runners.
A warning was placed on the barrier record on ILDIVO. Driver D Dunn advised his gelding had hung throughout causing him some difficulty.
MIGHTY AMERICAN was held up over the concluding stages with driver K Barron advising he didn't activate the removable gear.
 
Race 11 DIAMOND CREEK FARM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
STOP MEANS STOP raced roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied by driver R May.
BATTLE BORN paced roughly entering the first bend and shifted inwards contacting several track markers.
QUITE IDEAL paced roughly passing the 800 metres.
BATTLE BORN tired rounding the final bend. Driver C Thornley reported that the gelding had hung throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
STOP MEANS STOP had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.

SHARNAE raced roughly on several occasions.
TANYA DANA over-raced in the middle stages.
