There were no claims lodged for CONCORDE, THATSHOWIE ROLL or ELLIOT DANIEL.
FRANCO EXETER punctured a tyre and tube shortly after the start with the tyre and tube coming off the rim of the wheel, impeding the horses progress.
JACK BATES shifted in briefly inside the 100 metres with A CHANCE TO DREAM and MAJOR CHANGE locking wheels for a couple of strides.
An information was lodged under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging that Amateur Driver G Cronin (LOLA JONES) drove carelessly by shifting his mare inwards entering the first turn when not clear which resulted in THATSHOWIE ROLL (K Judson) being tightened down onto SHANTAHLIA KNIGHT (J Brownlee) which contacted pylons. The charge was admitted and the JCA imposed a fine of $300.00.
An information was lodged under Rule 869(4) alleging that J Brownlee (SHANTAHLIA KNIGHT) drove in a manner over the early stages which was likely to interfere with the progress of FRANCO EXETER by contacting and puncturing this horse's offside sulky wheel. The charge was admitted and the JCA imposed a fine of $200.00

MEYER LANSKY broke briefly at the start.
KING DAVID when in the lead passing the 250 metres broke for several strides locking wheels with SEXY REXY which broke losing its chance. ANZAC and MEYER LANSKY, which were in behind, locked wheels with MEYER LANSKY galloping losing momentum before settling.
SPECIAL FLIGHT was held up early on the final turn.

R GEE THREE paced roughly on several occasions and particularly rounding the final bend. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
COUNT LANDECK over raced in the middle stages.
MO CASINO (favourite) improved from the rear three wide with cover inside the 1300 metres, caught three wide without cover before reaching the position one outside the leader prior to the 700 metres and weakened inside the 250 metres to finish in 10th place beaten 18.8lengths.

There were no claims lodged for SPEEDY EARL or SILVER STREAM.
COOL SON and LARCH made mistakes at the start with COOL SON losing considerable ground, trailing the field throughout.
SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR broke passing the 1800 metres and again passing the 1500 metres.
An investigation was held into the breaking of SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR (A Donnelly) passing the 1800 metres when racing inside LOKI BROGDEN (N Chilcott). A Donnelly explained that she was conceding her position to LOKI BROGDEN as that gelding had an advantage on her, when her horse became unbalanced and broke.
FRANCO NADAL broke passing the 400 metres causing interference to the trailing SILVER STREAM. A warning was placed on this gelding's racing manners.
