When questioned regarding the performance of SILVER DALE Driver N Williamson advised that he was disappointed with the geldings effort when placed under pressure in the home straight however could offer no tangible explanation. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of SILVER DALE which revealed no abnormalities. | |
Trainer D Trainor advised Stewards that they would no longer be persevering with LADIES MILE at his stables. | |

BOBBINS and BOURBON AND DRY both broke at the start with BOBBINS being retired from the event shortly after when failing to settle. | |
SUNDONS FLYER and KO WRECTED broke approaching the first bend. | |
JACKOFDIAMONDS broke passing the winning post on the first occasion inconveniencing ROYAL KENNY which had to be shifted wider. | |
Driver N Williamson advised that ROYAL KENNY had commenced to over-race through the middle stages when obtaining a leading position. | |
YGRITTE broke near the 900 metres losing considerable ground and effectively all chance. | |
CHEEKY PAT hung inwards and trotted roughly upon entering the home straight. | |

BOBBINS was declared unruly for future standing start events at the request of Trainer P Williamson. Mr Williamson further advised that it would be his intention to trial BOBBINS prior to racing next. | |

ROBYN J was back on the unruly at the start when pacing roughly in the early stages of the score up. | |
AVEROSS FERRARI broke as the start was effected hampering the trailing EAMON MAGUIRE which in turn inconvenienced EAMON MAGUIRE and KEZZA'S LASS. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier manners of AVEROSS FERRARI. | |
PORSCHE CANARDLY raced wide without cover over the early stages. | |
ATOM EXPRESS over raced for a distance passing the 500 metres. ATOM EXPRESS was then held up rounding the final bend until near the 200 metres. | |
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY shifted outwards under pressure over the concluding stages placing TILLY PATRON in restricted room and having to steady. Driver K Butt (ROSTRIEVER VICTORY) was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground. | |

Junior Driver B Williamson was charged with a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip unnecessarily when driving THEMAILMAN passing the 800 metres. After hearing evidence from the relevant parties, the JCA dismissed the charge. | |

BONO HEST was declared a late scratching acting on veterinary advice after bolting on driver S Ottley in the preliminary for an excessive distance when the rein came adrift on the gelding. Trainer R Hanson was advised that a veterinary clearance is required prior to BONO HEST racing next. An information was lodged against Trainer R Hanson (BONO HEST) under Rule 864(2)(d) in that he failed to affix the rein so as not to come adrift, with the JCA imposing a $200 fine. | |
There was a further delay to the start of this race when the sulky of BLAZING UNDER FIRE required attention. | |
