Trainer G Smith has advised Stewards that HE'S LIKE THE WIND was suffering from muscle tie up following its disappointing run on Thursday with Mr Smith confirming that the gelding will be sent for a spell.

TIJUANA TAXI broke at the start.
CASTLETON TUI was very slow to begin and in consequence settled a considerable distance last.
FAMILY NIGHT raced roughly through the early stages.
SPOTS GOLD N GIRL broke after 100 metres.
FAMILY NIGHT and ZONED SCARLETT broke near the 2300 metres.
FAMILY NIGHT broke again with 600 metres to run.
BRITE N LOVELY broke near the 300 metres hampering TIJUANA TAXI.
BET'S COMMANDO broke passing the 150 metres.
SUNNY BILL raced roughly in the run home restricting driver R Close's ability to fully test the gelding.
 
Race 2 FAREWELL DALE MOFFAT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HEIR POCKET broke at the start with a warning placed on the gelding's barrier record.
MIDNIGHT COWBOY paced roughly late in the score up and in consequence was out of position at the start. Notwithstanding this driver J Kennett was spoken to regarding the position in which this runner had started from.
THE GHOST raced wide round the first bend.
MAN OF CHANGE over-raced through the middle stages. MAN OF CHANGE was sent for a post-race veterinary examination after returning to the enclosure with blood present in its mouth with this revealing a small laceration inside the gelding's cheek.
WOBBEGONG raced keenly on the final bend.
BENJI MARA raced greenly near the 350 metres and had to be steadied for several strides.
 
Race 3 MARK FULLER RACING STABLES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer N McGrath was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after presenting NICKY'S LOGIC to race with removable deafeners which had not been notified.
MOSCONI broke at the start with a warning placed on the mare's barrier record.
MOSCONI again broke on the bend near the 1600 metres with a warning also placed on its racing record.
YUKON CLOUD gave ground rounding the final bend.
CENOSILLICAPHOBIC and PALEFACE SIOUX were held up on the final bend.
PALEFACE SIOUX was briefly crowded near the 100 metres and had to shift outwards to continue to improve.
Stewards questioned driver R Close regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of LI NA. Mr Close explained that the cord to activate the deafeners had broken which he felt had a considerable affect on the filly's ability to finish the race off.
 
Race 4 EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES TROT Video  Video 
MOMENTOUS broke briefly at the start.
WOT UP broke in the early stages.
BK DAWN broke racing into the first bend and settled before breaking again shortly after.
REDWOOD INVASION broke with 250 metres to run.
Authorisation of 4th placing being awarded to BK DAWN was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when in a break over the early stages.
Driver P Wakelin (BK DAWN) was spoken to and issued with a warning for her use of the whip over the final stages.
 
Race 5 CHANGEOVER & PORT FM PACE Video  Video 
The field was turned away after GLENSTONE was reluctant to address the barrier with the filly sent to the unruly position where it will remain for future standing starts.
LAVISH LUSTRE broke and ran inwards at the start checking CULLENZ DIAMOND. The connections of LAVISH LUSTRE were advised the mare had been stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand.
PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING and BADENTYRE broke shortly after the start.
BOBBY M broke in the early stages with the off side number coming adrift.
SANDRA KEITH broke near the 2350 metres and lost ground.
MILLWOOD CHARITY and PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING over-raced in the middle stages.
LAVISH LUSTRE broke with 600 metres to run checking SANDRA KEITH into a break. Also inconvenienced was CULLENZ DIAMOND who had to shift wider.
PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING and BADENTYRE were held up for clear racing room in the run home.
Near the 100 metres BIONIC MAN was inconvenienced when shifted inwards by PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING which was attempting to improve.
Driver C Thornley advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING.
 
Race 6 PROPERTY BROKERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JACK HAMMER raced wide in the early stages before reaching the parked position with 1200 metres to run.
BURN OFF broke with 250 metres to run. The connections were advised that BURN OFF had been stood down to complete one satisfactory trial.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS over-raced in the middle stages.
BETTY GOLIGHTLY and SPIRIT OF CHRONOS were held up in the early stages of the run home.
JACK HAMMER raced roughly passing the 400 metres and continued to do so until near the 200 metres. Driver R May reported to Stewards that he had been disappointed with the gelding's efforts. The connections advised the gelding will be given a freshen up prior to starting next.
 
Race 7 LION BEVERAGES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DREAMY DAMIEN paced roughly and hung inwards in the early stages.
ORDER ONLINE raced wide in the early stages before progressing to the lead with 2000 metres to run.
GUPTA'S CULLEN over-raced in the middle stages.
MILLWOOD CHARLIE was held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
FULHAM ROYALE and VENETO were held up for clear racing room in the run home,
 
Race 8 BROSNAN TRANSPORT LTD TIMARU WINTER CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
RUN TO HIDE was a late scratching at 5.40pm on 2 July 2016.
SHARDS HALO and BOOMER BAILEY broke at the start.
WELL ARMED paced roughly in the early stages.
WOODLEA LEGEND over-raced through the middle stages.
BOOMER BAILEY was held up in the early stages of the run home.
Near the 150 metres NIC MAC WILLY which was weakening had to be steadied when crowded for racing room between SHARDS HALO and BANK RAIDER which both shifted ground. Driver S McNally (SHARDS HALO) was advised that in future he is to make a better effort when improving his position.
SHARDS HALO and RANFURLY RULZ were held up over the final stages of the run home.
 
Race 9 COASTER HOWE & PERFECT PACKAGING PACE Video  Video 
HEY KNOWCHANGE, ANNA IVY, ALLISON STOKKE, CLARENDON'S LAST and HALL OF FAME broke at the start.
JULIA LADY was held up on the home turn.
ALANTIC broke with 300 metres to run checking ALLISON STOKKE which had to shift ground and was held up for some distance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
HALL OF FAME hung inwards in the home straight.
K Butt as the driver of ALLISON STOKKE reported she had sustained a punctured sulky tyre when shifting CLARENDON'S LAST wider on the track through the back straight.
