Authorisation of 2nd place being awarded to EYRISH MIST was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the colt had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking racing into the first bend. | |

Driver J Young advised she was unable to activate the removable deafeners on FLYIN SUE due to the cord becoming entangled. | |
Driver R Swain advised Stewards that only one ear plug activated on WASHINGTONS CHANCE. | |
Trainer G Bates has informed Stewards that following its performance at Forbury Park last week, blood tests taken from RICO GOLD showed that the gelding was suffering from muscle tie-up. This has now been treated and RICO GOLD has continued its preparation for a start at Ashburton this weekend. | |

RAPHOE raced fiercely in the score up and skied its head as the start was effected as a result the boring pole slipped shortly after. The gear was inspected and found to be in satisfactory condition. | |

FLURRY broke for a short distance after the start. | |
ANOTHER DELIGHT broke rounding the first bend and then over- raced with Driver S Ottley having some difficulty restraining the mare. | |
WINNERS SHOUT broke near the 2200 metres and again passing the 2000 metres losing several lengths. When questioned regarding the breaking of WINNERS SHOUT Driver B Williamson advised the gelding had trotted roughly on a number of occasions. Mr Williamson further advised that gear changes would be made with alterations to the shoes. | |
POPPA DON commenced to tire rounding the final bend and near the 250 metres locked sulky stays with SCOTTIE TROUBLE. | |
A Protest was lodged under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulations against the 4th place being awarded to ANOTHER DELIGHT alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150 metres racing into the first bend. The connections did not contest the Protest with ANOTHER DELIGHT being subsequently disqualified. | |
