Race 1 - PRINTECH AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
The adjourned hearing into the alleged breaches of Rule 870(1) or in the alternative 869(3)(a) by Amateur Driver J Kriechbaumer into his drive in Race 1 on OUR SOUTHERN MAN over the concluding stages of the race was re-opened. The particulars of the charges read as follows: 'That Amateur Driver J Kriechbaumer drove incompetently over the final stages by failing to immediately take all reasonable steps to return his gelding to its proper gait after galloping near the 70 metres' or in the alternative 'He failed to immediately take all reasonable steps to return his gelding to its proper gait after galloping near the 70 metres.' Mr Kriechbaumer was assisted at the hearing by senior Driver S Abernethy. The JCA upheld the charge under Rule 869(3)(a), incompetent driving, and his Advanced Amateur Horseman's Licence was suspended up to and including 30 November 2016.

ON THE RAZZLE was claimed by Messrs John, David and Mrs Colleen Butcher.
There were no claims for OUR SOUTHERN MAN.
ON THE RAZZLE over-raced in the early stages.
MINSTREL BOY racing one out without cover over-raced in the middle stages until receiving cover from ON THE RAZZLE at the 1000 metres.
OUR SOUTHERN MAN over-raced in the lead in the middle stages.
 
Race 2 KONICA MINOLTA HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
MADDISON WILD and AWA CATHRINE broke at the start losing ground.
ALLINGHAM (favourite) broke approaching the 1900 metres losing considerable ground.
RISE TO SUCCESS was removed from the unruly position for standing starts.

There were no claims lodged for SHANTAHLIA KNIGHT.
CHRISTIAN FALCON was unable to obtain clear racing room in the run home.
At the request of the connections of CHEQUEME ROSIE the authorisation of the payment of the 1st placing of SHANTAHLIA KNIGHT was withheld until such time that they reviewed the video coverage and were satisfied that their chances were not affected when the winner SHANTAHLIA KNIGHT shifted in late in the run home.
 
Race 4 DUNSTAN 3YO MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
JASPER SEVEN broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
LEMOND broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
The authorisation of the payment of the 2nd placing of LEMOND was withheld until such time that Stewards reviewed the video coverage of this gelding's early gallop rounding the first bend. The gelding was in its incorrect gait for approximately 80 metres and complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
 
Race 5 FAIRVIEW MOTORS CAMBRIDGE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A minor infringement notice was issued and a $100 fine imposed on Trainer R Green for presenting TUAPEKA SKY without the notified removable deafeners.
LUCY LORNA momentarily locked wheels with TUAPEKA SKY when being eased racing into the first bend.
BOUNDARY ROW paced roughly rounding the final bend losing ground.
LUCY LORNA weakened from within the 400 metres.
ARE YOU READY GIRL broke approaching the 50 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of ARE YOU READY GIRL.
 
Race 6 HARNESS JEWELS MERCHANDISE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MILLVIEW SIENNA was inclined to lay in when improving in a two wide position when racing to the lead which momentarily placed MAC THE MONEYMAKER in tight quarters.
R GEE THREE was slow over the early stage of the race and lost contact with the field rounding the first bend. This gelding was improved inside the 1400 metres three wide to reach one out without cover with 900 metres to run.
RED MAGIC from four deep on the running line was held up rounding the final bend and over the early and middle stages of the run home.
Driver T Mitchell was warned to correct his whip action in regard to the manner he drove MAC THE MONEYMAKER over the concluding stage of the race.
 
Race 7 TESTIMONIAL LUNCHEON SUNDAY 29TH MAY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LADYTORO was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 8.20pm. The mare was found to be lame in its right foreleg. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before this mare resumes.
MISS DAISY was held up for clear racing room inside the last 100 metres.
 
Race 8 HARNESS JEWELS FASHION EVENT HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
THOMAS MCBRIDE was fractious and reared momentarily at the start.
MAJOR CLASSIC ducked out sideways, galloped for several strides, and was slow away.
PRINCESS KATE broke for a stride at the start.
SHARDON'S PEARL lay in rounding the final bend and contacted track markers entering the home straight.
 
Race 9 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
COUNT LANDECK was inclined to lay in when being improved three wide around the first bend.
AWESOME DUDE raced three wide from inside the 1200 metres.
BRONZE OVER was inconvenienced by the tiring VEGA STAR inside the 600 metres.
VEGA STAR paced unevenly approaching the 600 metres with Driver Z Butcher taking the gelding wider and retiring from the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Reid was warned to improve the race performance of this gelding.
EVERLASTING GRACE from four deep on the running line was held up until the last 200 metres.
CORDELIA was held up throughout the run home.
 
Race 10 PROLIFE FOODS LTD JUNIOR DRIVERS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
FRANCO NADAL was fractious prior to the start and reared.
After the barrier strands had been released with the start being effected, REINE DES GITANS swung sideways causing interference to MEYER LANSKY which had drawn unruly 1 on the 20 metre mark this in turn severely impeded the progress of NEVER FEAR with FRANCO NADAL veering away sideways causing a check to SIR GEORGE GREY which in turn resulted in a check to THE PRINCE which broke taking some time to settle. The sulkies of REINE DES GITANS and MEYER LANSKY became entangled dislodging Junior Driver A Drake from the sulky and MEYER LANSKY fell to the track. The Club's Veterinarian examined MEYER LANSKY and REINE DES GITANS and found no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the standing start manners of REINE DES GITANS.
FRANCO NADAL broke racing into the first bend
PRIMUS INTER PARES broke passing the 2300 metres.
THE PRINCE broke approaching the 2200 metres.
THE SCRUFF broke free of interference when in the lead inside the 400 metres resulting in a severe check to PRINCESS MACKENDON which broke and impeded the progress of HIGHLAND STAR and NEVER FEAR with SIR GEORGE GREY taking evasive action around these runners. A warning was placed on the racing manners of THE SCRUFF.
