Race 1 MORRISON'S SADDLERY & FEED TROT Video  Video 
ELVIS P displayed poor barrier manners when addressing the barrier. This gelding then broke near the 1800 metres.
SUNSPOT began awkwardly.
BELMONT'S GREATEST broke at the start.
TIJUANA TAXI also broke shortly after the start.
MOY broke as the start was effected and trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
FAMILY NIGHT broke shortly after the start inconveniencing REDWOOD INVASION which broke briefly.
WOOMAMASAMPSON broke when negotiating the first bend losing its chance and being retired from the event.
DON'T LOOK BACK trotted roughly nearing the 1600 metres.
IT'S HOW YOU USE IT broke near the 1600 metres and again at the 900 metres.
ROLLIN THUNDER hung inwards rounding the final bend and trotted in an uneven fashion throughout the run home.
WESTAR BELLA (B Zampese) struck a track marker when being eased down to utilise the passing lane. Mr Zampese was cautioned to ensure that contact is not made with any track markers in future.
REDWOOD INVASION hung inwards and trotted unevenly before breaking passing the 180 metres.
 
Race 2 PORT FM FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JANICES CULLEN was late being presented into the birdcage after becoming fractious in the stable area.
GLENISTHEBETTOR was slightly out of position at dispatch.
BETTER B CHEVRON paced roughly through the early stages.
BLUE JEAN DIVA raced wide in the early stages.
IREBY MEG had a warning placed on its racing record after it over-raced and proved difficult to steer nearing the 1000 metres and in consequence made contact with the inside wheel of BONNIE MOLLY which was racing to its outside with this tyre deflating.
FLYIN SUE tired rapidly from the 700 metres inconveniencing BONNIE MOLLY. A subsequent veterinary examination of FLYIN SUE revealed a very slow recovery rate with the on course veterinarian recommending blood tests be carried out in the coming days.
JACLYN SMITH was inclined to lay inwards passing the 600 metres causing a slight inconvenience to BLUE JEAN DIVA.
BLUE JEAN DIVA tired from the 500 metres. Horseman A Hastie dropped his foot momentarily when activating this mare's removable gear rounding the final bend. Mr Hastie was cautioned regarding his use of the whip on a runner out of contention at this stage of the race.
Horseman R Austin (JACLYN SMITH) was fined the sum of $100.00 after admitting he dropped his foot from the sulky footrest for an extended period rounding the final bend.
Trainer B Negus has advised Stewards that following its performance at Timaru last weekend FLYIN SUE has recovered well with no blood tests taken. Mr Negus was of the opinion that the mare was forced to work hard during the event which contributed to its disappointing performance. He further advised that he has eased up on the mare's workload this week and she will be driven with a sit should circumstances permit, with this relayed through the appropriate channels.
 
Race 3 FLAIR (INC) GIRLS 'N GIGS TROT Video  Video 
THE BEST BEG broke at the start and again at the 1300 metres.
ROCKNPOP broke racing into the first bend.
SUNNY DEMON broke near the 2200 metres and again near the 1450 metres.
DIANA HARBOUR broke leaving the 600 metres.
 
Race 4 BTL PASSING LANE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BRUNELLO and JUST CHILLIN raced wide in the early stages.
JUST CHILLIN (A Tomlinson) and MARKIM (R Holmes) jostled for a position for a distance passing the 2000 metres with MARKIM breaking momentarily. This caused a slight inconvenience to TOM ME GUN and MOSSDALE SUE. Drivers Tomlinson and Holmes were spoken to advisedly for the manner in which they drove at this stage of the race.
URALLA SUE raced keenly through the middle stages and was held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend.
CHAMPAGNE REIGN was held up for clear racing room through the early and middle stages of the run home.
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY, PERUVIAN LIGHTNING and AVEROSS FERRARI were held up throughout the run home with the drivers of these horses advising they had not activated their removable gear.
 
Race 5 EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
ALVIRA HEST broke as the start was effected losing its chance in the event.
LOVE STRUCK ROMEO broke passing the 300 metres.
BOBBINS hung inwards throughout the run home forcing SONEY BEATT inwards. This resulted in DARK OPS being unable to utilise the passing lane in the initial stages of the run home. Driver M Williamson advised he would be recommending gear changes to BOBBINS prior to the mare resuming.
VENETO and BK DAWN were held up for clear racing room through the early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 6 PROPERTY BROKERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
PORT HANOVER was out of position at dispatch. Driver D Reardon was cautioned to maintain his barrier position in future.
DYNAMO paced roughly through the early stages and broke when entering the first bend causing an inconvenience to MELANIE OHARA, FRANCO TALLIS, WOBBEGONG and COMPLIANT. DYNAMO broke again nearing the 1500 metres. Stewards placed a warning on the racing record of DYNAMO.
JE SUIS RAPIDE raced keenly in the middle stages.
WOBBEGONG (S McNally) sustained a punctured sulky wheel when crossing to the parked position in front of CLARENDON FALCON (J Young) nearing the 1250 metres. After speaking with drivers Young and McNally, Stewards issued S McNally with a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly at this stage of the race by shifting down the track when not sufficiently clear. Mr McNally admitted the charge and after hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $250.
FRANCO TALLIS had to be steadied when racing at the rear near the 1100 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
MELANIE OHARA was inclined to hang inwards and was held up for clear racing room through the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 7 BROSNAN TRANSPORT LTD LADIES PACE Video  Video 
SHE AINT SWEET AZ, FRANCO CALIPH, MIGHTY EMPIRE and JEWELZ broke as the start was effected.
OHOKA BENSON stumbled and broke near the 1700 metres checking the trailing SHE AINT SWEET AZ and inconveniencing JEWELZ and FRANCO CALIPH with OHOKA BENSON being retired from the event. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have fractured a front fetlock and was humanely euthanized.
AUTOMATIC and SHE AINT SWEET AZ over-raced through the middle stages.
HEY KNOWCHANGE tired from the 500 metres.
SHE AINT SWEET AZ was held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
Driver T Healy (SONNETSSON) was cautioned to change her whip action.
 
Race 8 LION BEVERAGES PACE Video  Video 
CAPITAL PLAN underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was declared fit to start after starting at the NZ Metropolitan TC's meeting the previous day.
ROZZANO shifted outwards at the start making contact with FRANCO THOR.
TIROL'S ROCKET broke at the start shifting outwards This gelding was then held up over the concluding stages with driver B Zampese not afforded the opportunity to activate the gelding's removable gear.
J NINE broke at the start and had to be steadied nearing the 1900 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
CULLEN'S BARDON broke briefly as the start was effected.
ROCK OF AGES had a warning placed on its barrier record after it reared at the start causing an inconvenience to DON SEBASTIAN. ROCK OF AGES then had to be steadied nearing the 1900 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING had to be steadied nearing the 1900 metres when there was an easing of the pace with this gelding then racing greenly near the 1100 metres.
FRANCO THOR over-raced in the middle stages.
DON SEBASTIAN was held up for clear racing room in the run home.
ROZZANO was held up for clear racing room over the final stages.
 
Race 9 MAINLAND MINERALS HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
HIGHLAND REIGN was a late scratching at the start on veterinary advice after it was found to have blood present in both nostrils after completing its preliminary. A further veterinary examination confirmed HIGHLAND REIGN to have suffered an atrial fibrillation resulting in the mare bleeding. As a result of this HIGHLAND REIGN was stood down for the mandatory 30 days as a bleeder and a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG must be tendered prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.
The start was delayed when LAYTONS LASS, BUZKIL and SANDOVAL displayed poor barrier manners. The connections were advised a warning had been placed on the barrier record of all three runners.
CULLENS LADY, LAYTONS LASS, IDEAL ARDEN and CANNDEW broke as the start was effected.
BUZKIL raced wide through the early stages.
BUZKIL, PAY ME VISA, MANY OPTIONS, SANDOVAL and CANNDEW were held up through the early stages of the run home with SANDOVAL (B Orange) becoming awkwardly placed on the outside wheel of PAY ME VISA (S Ottley) prior to the passing lane with this wheel deflating. SANDOVAL then raced inside two track markers through the early stages of the run home when attempting to improve to the inside of PAY ME VISA. Mr Orange was cautioned to ensure that there is sufficient room to improve so his sulky does not protrude inside the marker line in future.
Driver B Orange dropped his foot from the sulky rest when activating the removable gear on SANDOVAL near the 150 metres.
 
Race 10 RON BROWN JEWELLERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
COURAGE TO LIVE was out of position at dispatch. Driver R May was issued a final caution to maintain his position behind the mobile barrier. COURAGE TO LIVE then hung inwards and raced greenly throughout the run home.
REAL RAIDER over-raced when being restrained to the rear of the field nearing the 1700 metres.
EDEN FRANCO over-raced when being restrained to take a trail nearing the 1200 metres.
RAPID MACH paced roughly at various stages throughout the running. This gelding weakened upon entering the home straight and broke nearing the 150 metres. Trainer/driver D Moore advised that he would no longer be persevering with RAPID MACH from his stable.
Horseman D Reardon (THATS FINE JULIUS) was cautioned to ensure his whip remains inside the confines of the sulky in future.
 
Race 11 CHANGEOVER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GOING TO CALIFORNIA paced roughly racing towards the first bend.
EJA PATRON paced roughly and shifted up the track when caught wide racing into the first bend. This gelding then tired from the 600 metres.
WOZNIACKI and GOING GOING GONE were also obliged to race three wide through the early and middle stages.
NOMATTERMEE hung out severely and struggled to maintain its position with the field from the 400 metres and was not persevered with from this point. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities and a warning was placed on its racing record.
BETTOR BE SMOOTH was held up for clear racing room through the early stages of the run home.
