Subsequent to the meeting Trainer T Vince advised Stewards that blood tests taken from SHARDS PHOENIX revealed a tying up problem which has since been treated.

Race 1 LINCOLN FARMS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHERRY BAY paced roughly shortly after the start and then broke inconveniencing SPIRIT OF DELIGHT before settling at the rear. A warning was placed on this filly's mobile barrier manners.
ROCKON BYE lay in approaching the 900 metres and then raced greenly when corrected.
MY KIWI LADY lay in and raced over several marker pegs near the 900 metres when at the rear.
CHERRY BAY lay out and raced greenly down the back straight the final time when at the rear.

LIVING LEGEND lay in and paced roughly approaching the 800 metres before laying in again and contacting marker pegs passing the 300 metres.
 
Race 3 DAWN BALLE MEMORIAL TROT Video  Video 
THE CROWN JEWELS broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
GIN broke approaching the winning post the first time and trailed the field throughout.
GETAWAY DOUG gave ground from the 500 metres, then broke passing the 300 metres losing its chance.
ROYAL WILLIE (favourite) was slow to begin and raced back towards the rear throughout before making up some ground over the final stages to finish in 5th place, beaten 15.1 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance, Driver M. McKendry stated that he was satisfied with the run given the slow beginning and that it was ROYAL WILLIE's second race back from a spell.

SMILEY SOPHIE was back a length at despatch.
STRAWBERRY STRIDE tended to lay in near the 900 metres.
RENSKE B threw its head up for several strides when racing outside the leader near the 700 metres.
 
Race 5 DAYAVEG HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
THE PRINCE broke shortly after the start and trailed the field throughout.
QUEEN KENNY broke after 300 metres adding to its 40 metre handicap.
BLACKGUARD'S CORNER broke entering the first turn and lost ground before settling in midfield.
WHITNEY contacted marker pegs when held up early on the final turn.
THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON broke passing the 100 metres when leading and failed to settle finishing in 5th place.
A Protest was lodged against the 5th placing of THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON under Rule 870(3) on the grounds that this gelding failed to promptly regain its proper gait when galloping over the final stages. The Protest was not contested by connections and the J.C.A. disqualified THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON from 5th place.
Authorisation of the 2nd placing of BLACKGUARD'S CORNER was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that this gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when galloping on the first turn.
THE PRINCE was placed on the unruly for standing starts at the trainer's request.
The connections of QUEEN KENNY reported that the mare had cast its off fore shoe during the running.
 
Race 6 JARVIS TRADING LTD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SHEZA SPRINGFIELD lay in badly in the score up and then again on the first turn.
IMKE B (favourite) trailed the leader throughout but only battled in the run home to finish in 3rd place, beaten 1.9 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T. Williams stated that he was satisfied with the run given the fast tempo early and that this was only the filly's second race day start.

No claims were lodged for FRANCO NADAL.
DAUNTLESS broke shortly after the start and trailed the field throughout.
FRANCO NADAL broke under pressure passing the 150 metres.
HOT CHOCOLATE TART was held up for clear running until inside the final 50 metres.
 
Race 8 POWELL TRANSPORT HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
CULINARY DELIGHT, WALKINSHAW, BRYDON IDEAL and DELIGHTFUL DASH all broke briefly at the start.
LITTLE RASCAL broke at the start and settled at the rear.
CULINARY DELIGHT broke again passing the 2100 metres losing considerable ground. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on this mare's racing manners. The connections advised that CULINARY DELIGHT had cast its off fore shoe during the running.
RISK (favourite) raced without cover from the 1200 metres before receiving cover near the 700 metres when LITTLE RASCAL improved around to race outside the leader. RISK was then unable to hold the back of LITTLE RASCAL near the 400 metres and was shifted three wide by PRINCE OF POPS with RISK then laying in and losing momentum briefly before finishing on strongly when balanced into 2nd place, beaten .5 of a length.

URBAN TIGER lay in in the score up.
BOPPER JET lay in over the early stages.
RUNCLE commenced to pull hard during the middle stages when three back on the inner. RUNCLE then lay in badly on the final turn and contacted the sulky of SAMARITAN on straightening for the run home when being angled outwards to secure clear running which resulted in RUNCLE pacing roughly and losing momentum. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
STONEBRIDGE LAD and RAZOR BROGDEN both gave ground over the final stages.
URBAN TIGER (favourite) trailed the leader throughout and was held up briefly on the final turn when SAMARITAN began to weaken before finishing on into 3rd place, beaten 3.6 lengths.
 
Race 10 FREIGHT LINES LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for BOLTING.
DARJEELING BROMAC broke late in the score up settling at the rear of the field. A warning was placed against this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
MOB STAR over-raced during the middle stages when outside the leader and then commenced to pace roughly when giving ground on the final turn. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed some hopple chafing on the hind legs.

GRENADO became fractious and was reluctant to come forward onto the barrier. A warning was placed against this gelding's standing start barrier manners.
GRENADO was slow to begin.
LA FEMME DE GOL was slow away early, then switched to a pace after 100 metres and was retired from the event.
