LADY J trotted slowly in the early stages settling well back.
DANKE broke after 200 metres effectively losing all chance.
FORAY was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure passing the 250 metres.
 
Race 2 THE SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHEVRON QUALITY raced fiercely in the early stages and then pulled hard for some distance. A warning was placed on this gelding's racing manners.
NERVE OF STEEL hung out and broke rounding the first bend badly hampering CARLETTA. GOTTA TICKET, REBEL RICHIE and GLENDENE which were in behind all had to take evasive action. A warning was placed on NERVE OF STEEL's racing manners.
PAKIPAKI paced roughly and broke rounding the first bend settling back.
PAKIPAKI broke when challenging round the final turn losing its chance. A warning was placed on this filly's racing manners record.
REBEL RICHIE broke near the 200 metres when back. A warning was placed on this gelding's racing manners.
 
Race 3 DOUG BRADLEY PAINTERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
WAS MEANT TO BE paced roughly and broke rounding the first bend losing considerable ground and its chance. STRAWB'S REGAL ACT was inconvenienced by this runner. The colt was declared unruly for mobile starts at the Trainer's request.
KIRRA KID lay in when improving three wide locking stays briefly with HES FAST AND FURIOUS passing the 1100 metres.
 
Race 4 T & T ELECTRICAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SANTANNA MAGIC broke early in the score-up, then attempted to buck, refused to settle and took no effective part. This gelding has been declared ineligible for 28 days.
MEDIA QUEEN (Favourite) became awkwardly placed on the back of the weakening RIMUTOTO PRINCE passing the 600 metres losing ground. MEDIA QUEEN then had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
WAVE SONG was held up rounding the final bend and had to be taken wider near the 150 metres to obtain clear racing room.
 
Race 5 VISIQUE NAYLOR PALMER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TUAPEKA TROY broke early in the score-up, recovered and was five lengths out of position at the start. This gelding also over-raced in the middle stages. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
EXTRA GUINNESS was caught wide rounding the first turn before obtaining cover near the 1400 metres.
SOUVENIR GLORY raced three wide without cover from the 1000 metres.
PAUL'S VERDICT gave ground passing the 500 metres inconveniencing the trailing EXTRA GUINNESS and PARTY RAGE.
REALLY DESIRABLE was held up for a brief distance near the 400 metres when clearing the backs of weakening runners.
SOUVENIR GLORY hung in when weakening near the 300 metres.
 
Race 6 MAINLINE FARRIER SUPPLIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
YOUNG MISTER GRACE over-raced in the trail throughout.
MR MEDDLE was held up passing the 500 metres only obtaining clear racing room near the 200 metres.
Stewards reviewed the video coverage with Driver R Close in regard to his drive on DANA DAWN. DANA DAWN was racing four deep on the running line rounding the final bend and shifted to a two wide position and then a three wide position approaching the 250 metres which momentarily placed PRIME LUSTRE in cramped quarters on his outside and in the inside of the improving JONAH JONES. PRIME LUSTRE which was weakening at the time paced roughly for several strides. Mr Close was advised that a warning would be placed on his record for driving in a manner likely to cause interference.
 
Race 7 WOODLANDS STUD FILLIES & MARES MILE SERIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
KOTARE KASAI raced three wide in the early stages before being taken forward to lead near the 900 metres.
ATCHOO was held up passing the 500 metres before obtaining clear racing room near the 250 metres.
AMERICAN FLYBYE (Favourite) raced in the one out one back position for the majority of the race and then was under pressure inside the final 300 metres weakening to finish ninth beaten 8.3 lengths. Driver S Phelan advised he was very disappointed with the performance of the filly despite it being its first start since the 1st of January 2016. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than a slow recovery.
 
Race 8 NEW CENTRAL MOTOR INN WOODVILLE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ARIZONA ATOM was held up rounding the final bend by the tiring JACKALACK SUE.
An investigation was held into a perceived breach of the push out rule passing the 1600 metres when LADY MOLLY (T Lethaby) was shifted to a three wide position when racing to the outside of ACES N EIGHTS (K Marshall). LADY MOLLY remained three wide for the remainder of the race until weakening inside the 500 metres. Junior Driver T Lethaby with the assistance of Senior Driver P Ferguson advised that LADY MOLLY was racing one out without cover when he eased the filly in an attempt to get cover in behind the improving JACKALACK SUE which was racing three wide. In the process of easing LADY MOLLY, ACES N EIGHTS improved outward, the mare reacted by shying away which left it in a three wide position. His explanation was accepted.
