Race 1 INVERCARGILL WORKOUTS COMMITTEE TROT Video  Video 
PURE EMOTION broke at the start losing several lengths.
EYRE'S A RAG DOLL raced wide for a distance when being improved passing the 1600 metres.
CLOVER LADY trotted roughly for a short distance near the 1100 metres.
STRATHSPEY BOY hung inwards and struck a track marker near the 900 metres.
PEGAROSE was held up rounding the final bend.
When questioned regarding the performance of THE TOILER Driver M Williamson was unable to offer any explanation.
 
Race 2 LEVEL ONE RESTAURANT & BAR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ROYAL CAROLINE raced wide throughout despite the efforts of Driver A Milne to restrain the mare to the rear in the middle stages.
ERIN JACCKA was held up through the early stages of the run home.
SON OF BRAHMA and GREAT ABBEY were held up throughout the run home and went to the line without being fully tested. Driver B Barclay advised that he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds on SON OF BRAHMA.
GLENBURN JOY commenced to give ground near the 300 metres and was not persevered with thereafter. Driver N Williamson reported that GLENBURN JOY had felt indifferent in its action during the running, with a subsequent post-race veterinary examination revealing the filly to be showing signs of lameness in the right foreleg. Connections were advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to GLENBURN JOY racing next. Trainer B Shirley advised GLENBURN JOY would now be sent for a lengthy spell.
 
Race 3 SPEEDY SIGNS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TWO PLY paced roughly in the score up resulting in the gelding being out of position at the dispatch.
IT'S A DEAL paced roughly approaching the first bend and when being restrained came back onto trailing STEIGER which simultaneously shifted inwards resulting in contact being made with the sulky wheel of IT'S A DEAL.
MILEHIGH MAGIC over-raced through the middle stages.
MILEHIGH MAGIC had to be steadied near the 500 metres when awkwardly placed behind HOWAREYOUTODAY which was restrained in an attempt to shift back into the two wide line.
LADY'S LASS broke passing the 350 metres when racing to the inside of HOWAREYOUTODAY when both runners shifted ground.
When questioned regarding the performance of IT'S A DEAL driver A Armour reported that after unsuccessfully attempting to obtain the lead through the early stages the gelding had been obliged to race parked for the remainder of the event which in his opinion had proved detrimental to its chances when placed under pressure.
 
Race 4 MORE FM HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
WAY TO GO, APOLLO MISSION, ANOTHER CRUSHER and MASS INVASION all broke at the start, with WAY TO GO and APOLLO MISSION losing their chances in the event. MOON COUNTESS which trailed on the second row was inconvenienced by the breaking runners.
GRACE O'MALLEY hung inwards and broke rounding the first bend losing considerable ground and effectively its chance in the event.
BELMONT INVASION broke near the 600 metres losing its chance.
THE JINJA NINJA broke near the 350 metres when tiring.
THE BADGER hung inwards in the early stages of the run home and when being restrained near the 150 metres broke losing its chance.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY (M Williamson) shifted inwards under pressure near the 100 metres inconveniencing OVERCAST which had to shift ground outwards across that runner to improve. Driver M Williamson was cautioned for the manner he shifted ground and advised that he is to maintain as straight a line as possible and free access to the Passing Lane when a clear run to the line exists.
BELMONT INVASION was cleared from the Unruly for future standing start events.
 
Race 5 BLUFF RACE DAY 6TH JUNE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
UNDERSTUDY paced roughly through the latter stages of the score up.
PAVAROTTI paced roughly for a short distance near the 2100 metres.
CHANGESAW over-raced for some distance near the 1300 metres when surrendering the lead to MEMPHIS MAFIA.
UNDERSTUDY was held up for some distance rounding the final bend.
 
Race 6 FOVEAUX EQUESTRIAN CLAIMERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
REAL LOVE was declared a late scratching at 9.59am on veterinary advice with a veterinary certificate to be provided. Trainer A Beck was advised that REAL LOVE would require a further veterinary certificate prior to resuming.
A false start was declared when BUFFALO SOLDIER broke in the score up causing a concertina effect with several other runners breaking. Junior horseman C Ferguson elected to start BUFFALO SOLDIER from the Unruly position for the restart. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of BUFFALO SOLDIER.
NEWMANS JET commenced to over-race in the early stages and near the 1500 metres hung outwards when being restrained striking the sulky wheel of WASHINGTONS CHANCE. A warning was placed against the racing manners record of NEWMANS JET. WASHINGTONS CHANCE incurred a punctured sulky tyre in this incident with the gelding been retired from the event near the 850 metres.
TROPOSPHERE paced roughly for a short distance near the 800 metres inconveniencing the trailing VERA MAC. Junior driver S Tomlinson advised that TROPOSPHERE had struck its sulky discs throughout the running.
NEWMANS JET hung inwards passing the 400 metres striking several track markers.
BUFFALO SOLDIER was claimed from this event.
 
Race 7 BURGESS MASONRY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ROBYN KIM was declared a late scratching at 12.40pm on veterinary advice.
TO RI ALBY which was fractious in its tie up stall on course underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after completing its preliminary and was declared a late scratching at 2.19pm due to the gelding having blood present in one nostril. A further examination on return to the stables confirmed TO RI ALBY not to be a bleeder. Trainer A Hoffman undertook to have an endoscopic examination of the gelding completed in the coming days and report any significant findings to the Stewards.
A false start was declared when GO GRUNTER broke in the latter stages of the score up checking the trailing FATHER TED and GUNSLINGER BROMAC. Driver A Armour elected to remain in his allotted barrier position for the restart. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of GO GRUNTER.
FLASHING LOVER proved reluctant to step away through the early stages of the score up losing considerable ground and effectively its chance. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier manners of FLASHING LOVER.
BLENHEIM SUN broke near the 2100 metres checking the trailing GUNSLINGER BROMAC which was forced wider. Connections of BLENHEIM SUN were advised the mare must trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing next.
FERN FEVER paced roughly for a short distance near the 1800 metres.
GO GRUNTER had to be steadied near the 500 metres when awkwardly placed near the sulky wheel of FERN FEVER which hung inwards when placed under pressure.
Trainer A Hoffman has advised Stewards that after being late scratched at Invercargill on Sunday because of blood being present in its nose, TO RI ALBY was examined today and found not to be a bleeder with a cut inside a nostril being detected. Miss Hoffman added that it was her intention to have the gelding resume at Oamaru on 22 May.
 
Race 8 AON / VERO INSURANCE HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
ROXY DALE and ODETTE JACCKA broke at the start losing ground.
KIWI FOCUS improved wide through the middle stages obtaining the parked position near the 800 metres.
 
Race 9 WILLYS FLOORING FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BLACK ATHENA raced wide in the early stages before being improved to obtain a parked position near the 1100 metres.
MY RONA GOLD over-raced for a distance passing the 600 metres, with the mare then being held up rounding the final bend. MY RONA GOLD was then inclined to lay inwards through the early stages of the run home briefly locking sulky stays with BLACK ATHENA. MY RONA GOLD continued to lay inwards for the remainder of the event.
BLACK ATHENA had to be steadied momentarily near the 100 metres when tiring between MY RONA GOLD which lay inwards and VERA'S DELIGHT (B McLellan) which shifted ground outwards. Driver B McLellan was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground.
ELLE KO was held up throughout the run home going to the line without being tested.
MY RONA GOLD pulled up lame following the event, with a subsequent veterinary examination revealing a suspected fractured pastern. Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate will be required prior to MY RONA GOLD resuming.
 
Race 10 CADUCEUS CLUB OF SOUTHLAND JEWELS DAY OUT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A SMART EXCUSE raced wide through the early stages prior to being improved to obtain the parked position near the 1750 metres.
FEAR XCHANGE over-raced through the middle stages.
LADY GO CULLECT and HOIHO briefly locked sulky wheels near the 1250 metres.
FEAR XCHANGE had to be steadied when over-racing passing the 800 metres becoming awkwardly placed near the sulky wheel of CABALLO BLANCO.
LADY GO CULLECT broke passing the 800 metres losing its chance. Trainer C Laurenson advised that the filly would now be sent for an immediate spell.
