General
Selected horses on today's programme were subjected to pre-race blood testing. Selected drivers were required to provide a sample of breath for the purpose of Alcohol analysis. Due to the non-availability of an on-course Ambulance for the start of Race 1 all races were put back one race to enable an Ambulance to arrive with the last race reprogrammed to start at 7.10pm.

Race 2 - THE PARK FUNCTION CENTRE PACE
Trainer P Court has advised Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Forbury Park last week DIAMOND STAR has been sent for a lengthy spell.
Race 4 - VETPRO MOBILE PACE
Trainer G Anderson advised that his intentions to trial SHAKEY LOCH prior to resuming had changed and that he would now no longer be persevering with the gelding as a racing proposition from his stable.
Race 8 - GOODBYE BARRY KITTO MOBILE PACE
Trainer M Jones has advised Stewards that following its disappointing run at Forbury Park last week FRANCO EXETER has been sent for a brief spell.

Race 7 - MCINTOSH CATERING PACE
Trainer G O'Reilly has advised Stewards that blood tests have revealed that JUNKYARD MASE was suffering from a lung infection when racing at Ashburton last weekend. This is now being treated with the gelding having a brief spell before resuming.

Race 1 BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TABS & TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
AVEROSS BRACHOLE broke in the early stages of the score up however was able to take up its correct barrier position.
NERIDA FRANCO hung inwards when improving three wide in the middle stages and continued to do so for the remainder of the event even more evidently throughout the run home with this restricting the ability of driver P Wallace to drive this mare out with any vigour.
KING CYRIL gave ground rapidly from the 700 metres and finished a distance from the winner. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards placed a warning on the racing performance of KING CYRIL.
MAJOR PATRON was held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
WAIHEMO ART hung inwards through the early stages of the run home.
TUFFLITTLEROOSTER was held up throughout the run home.
AS KIWI AS was inclined to lay inwards throughout the run home.
 
Race 2 LINDAUER SUPPORTS ADDINGTON'S LADIES NIGHT MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
MUSCLES GALORE broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. This gelding broke again near the 1100 metres.
LIGHTWORKOFIT trotted roughly racing into the first bend and was awkwardly placed to the back of SUGAR CANE shortly after. LIGHTWORKOFIT then broke approaching the 50 metres before settling just prior to the winning post. A protest was lodged against 3rd placing being awarded to LIGHTWORKOFIT alleging the gelding had broken in excess of 50 metres within the final 200 metres. After viewing all available films the connections did not contest the protest and subsequently LIGHTWORKOFIT was disqualified by the JCA.
THE FOX was obliged to race three wide throughout.
FAMILY NIGHT broke near the 300 metres.
KAIMANAWA trotted roughly and broke passing the 200 metres causing an inconvenience to SUGAR CANE and JUSTAMOLLYARCHER.
MAGNAFIQUE broke nearing the 100 metres.
 
Race 3 ADDINGTON'S LADIES NIGHT 27/5 TICKETS ON SALE HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
GOT A BEAUTY and GUPTA'S CULLEN broke as the start was effected.
DIOS DEL FUEGO broke as the start was effected and given its recent manners from a stand had a warning placed on its standing start record. Trainer K Nyhan advised she would be adding hopple shorteners to the gelding's gear when racing from a stand in future however she further added that she would be restricting DIOS DEL FUEGO's racing to mobile starts in the near future.
OHOKA BENSON hung inwards rounding the final bend.
ANIKA LINDENNY raced keenly round the final bend and skied its head on several occasions when being improved outwards to make its run.
GUPTA'S CULLEN raced roughly just prior to entering the final straight.
Driver R May briefly dropped his foot from the sulky rest when activating the removable deafeners on ANIKA LINDENNY passing the 450 metres.
When questioned regarding the performance of JEWELZ driver C Thornley advised he was slightly disappointed with the mare's performance however felt this was due to her working hard through the early stages to obtain the lead after making a quick beginning.
 
Race 4 ENJOY LINDAUER AT SPECTATORS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ROYAL JESTER over-raced in the middle stages.
ROYAL JESTER raced wide rounding the final bend when having the removable deafeners activated. This gelding then lay up the track nearing the 100 metres causing a slight inconvenience to ALLISON STOKKE.
The all clear was delayed until Stewards had spoken with driver G Smith (ALLISON STOKKE) who advised his chances of beating ROYAL JESTER home had not been affected. Driver L McKay (ROYAL JESTER) was spoken to advisedly for the manner she drove over the concluding stages.
When spoken to regarding the performance of ALLISON STOKKE, trainer/driver G Smith reported that he was disappointed with the effort of the filly and added that she may not have been suited to the extra distance of today's race. Mr Smith further added that he would be restricting ALLISON STOKKE to shorter distances in future.
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards mid-week that blood tests taken from ALLISON STOKKE revealed the filly to have been dehydrated and slightly iron deficient. Mr Smith further added that given these findings he had re-assessed his decision to only start her from shorter distance racing.
 
Race 5 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY FROM LINDAUER HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN trotted roughly rounding the final bend and in the home straight.
EXPERIMENT trotted roughly nearing the 1000 metres and struggled to keep the back of HARRIET OF MOT. This mare then proceeded to tire from the 500 metres.
GALLEONS ROYALE gave ground from the 500 metres.
Driver J Curtin briefly dropped his foot from the sulky rest nearing the 200 metres when activating the removable deafeners on LE LIEVRE'S GIFT.
 
Race 6 ADDINGTON'S LADIES NIGHT 27/5 TICKETS ON SALE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FRANCO HAMPTON raced greenly and broke briefly after 100 metres before settling at the rear of the field.
WALL STREET WOLF raced ungenerously and lay outwards through the middle stages. This gelding continued to hang outwards, proving difficult to steer and was placed in restricted room momentarily nearing the 600 metres when BETTOR BE GOLD (M Purdon) had been eased downwards by JIMMIE (R Payne) with WALL STREET WOLF then weakening from the 500 metres . Horseman R Payne (JIMMIE) was shown the films and cautioned to allow runners to his inside more room in future.
JIMMIE hung inwards and paced roughly passing the 200 metres.
BETTOR BE GOLD was held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
MY WEE MAN broke passing the 50 metres.
KING SOLOMON paced roughly on several occasions throughout the run home.
 
Race 7 LINDAUER SUPPORTS ADDINGTON'S LADIES NIGHT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MUSIC paced roughly in the score up and again rounding the final bend.
EARTHBOUND raced fiercely in the early stages when being restrained. This gelding continued to over-race in the middle stages.
KARANGA RED FANTASY hung inwards racing into the first bend.
ALPHA ROCK was inclined to lay inwards passing the 1000 metres.
 
Race 8 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY FROM LINDAUER MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
CUDDLY JESS and BK DAWN were slightly out of position at dispatch.
DONEGAL BETTORGRETCH raced wide in the early stages.
Driver M Perriton (LISA MARIE P) was shown the films and cautioned to change her whip action.
 
Race 9 ADDINGTON'S LADIES NIGHT 27/5 TICKETS ON SALE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SARAMON had a warning placed on its barrier record after it broke in the score up and was subsequently out of position at the start. This gelding then raced ungenerously nearing the 1500 metres and gave ground rounding the final bend.
ARTICULIGHT over-raced in the middle stages.
ONEDIN'S DELIGHT over-raced in the middle stages and was held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight. Driver D Dunn reported he did not activate the removable deafeners on the colt.
G I JOE over-raced from the 900 metres. Driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered with this gelding.
 
Race 10 ENJOY LINDAUER AT SPECTATORS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
ELLA LAVRA broke at the start.
RUBY'S JEWEL broke at the start losing its chance.
WANDERING STAR broke at the start and then paced after approximately 100 metres having to be checked into its correct gait by driver G O'Reilly.
ALVIRA HEST broke at the start and again in the run home near the 150 metres.
PETITE ROYAL broke after 100 metres checking the trailing LAVROS TEXAS, OONA, DESTINY JONES and MONKEY'S WAY with LAVROS TEXAS, OONA and DESTINY JONES breaking. PETITE ROYAL then over-raced through the middle stages.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN broke passing the 2200 metres losing ground.
OONA was inclined to lay outwards throughout.
MONKEY'S WAY hung inwards in the home straight and trotted roughly.
Authorisation of 2nd, 4th and 5th placings being awarded to PETITE ROYAL, WE'LL MEET AGAIN and DESTINY JONES respectively were withheld until Stewards were satisfied these runners had not been in breach of the Breaking Horse Regulations when in a break during the running.
