Race 1 MORRISONS SADDLERY TROT Video  Video 
ANOTHERDOLLYTROUBLE reared as the start was effected and broke losing a considerable amount of ground.
PYRAMID MUSTANG displayed poor barrier manners and broke briefly as the start was effected.
DON'T LOOK BACK trotted roughly at various stages throughout the running.
LOOK AHEAD raced lethargically from the 1200 metres.
PYRAMID MUSTANG broke nearing the 300 metres.
ROLLIN THUNDER trotted in an uneven fashion in the run home and was unable to be driven out with any vigour by driver D Dunn.
Driver S Smolenski (DON PIERRE) was shown a replay and warned to ensure he leaves full access to the passing lane for trailing runners.
 
Race 2 NORTH OTAGO MOTOR GROUP FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GLENISTHEBETTOR broke in the score up briefly hampering BLUE JEAN DIVA and as a result was out of position at dispatch with a warning placed on its mobile barrier record. Trainer/Driver R Anderson advised that he would be adding hopple shorteners to the filly's gear.
BLAZING VC paced roughly in the early stages and again when negotiating the first bend before breaking and losing its chance. Trainer/Driver R Jenkins reported that the mare had been over-racing.
SMOOTH FIRE and DANCING IN THE DARK raced keenly passing the 1400 metres after a slight easing of the pace.
MILLWOOD CHARITY weakened rounding the final turn causing an inconvenience to JUST CHILLIN and JANET'S PASSION.
GOTTA MAMA was held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
BLUE JEAN DIVA hung outwards rounding the final bend when tiring.
Driver R Austin (JACLYN SMITH) was warned for using his whip when out of contention.
 
Race 3 ONE SMART COFFEE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LETSGOTOTHEHOP raced fiercely in the early stages and broke after striking the wheel of WOBBEGONG resulting in the tyre of WOBBEGONG deflating immediately. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of LETSGOTOTHEHOP.
MASTER JORDY over-raced through the middle stages.
COURAGE TO LIVE hung inwards when improving three wide passing the 1300 metres.
BELMONT JET raced greenly near the 1000 metres after a slight easing of the pace hampering the trailing TAKE A GAMBLE and AFRO DIZZY YAK, with AFRO DIZZY YAK breaking as a result.
BELMONT JET commenced to tire round the final turn.
CLARENDON FALCON was held up in the early stages of the run home.
ROSTRIEVER VICTORY was held up for clear racing room for the majority of the home straight.
COMPLIANT hung inwards throughout the home straight and shifted into the passing lane late in the run home. Driver B Orange advised that he would be recommending gear changes to the gelding.

Trainer R Beale was fined $100 for presenting GREEN MACHINE to race with Blinds which had not been notified.
The starter was obliged to turn the field away to reassemble after the barrier strand failed to release, as a result of this the race was delayed several minutes.
AVEROSS FERRARI broke as the start was effected.
PALEFACE SIOUX broke shortly after the start and shifted inwards abruptly making contact with URALLA SUE resulting in driver P Davis (PALEFACE SIOUX) becoming badly unbalanced in his sulky. A warning was placed on the standing start record of PALEFACE SIOUX.
SHEEZ GOOD paced roughly rounding the first bend.
GREEN MACHINE paced roughly racing round the first bend and again approaching the 1000 metres.
URALLA SUE hung inwards rounding the final bend.
RECIPE FOR DREAMING shifted outwards entering the home straight forcing SHEEZ GOOD wider on the track. Shortly after CULLEN'S BARDON which was hanging inwards locked sulky stays with SHEEZ GOOD for a brief period.
AVEROSS FERRARI was held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.
VUKONA paced roughly in the run home.
 
Race 5 SPRINGBANK HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
TORNADO VALLEY was a late scratching at 7.50am on Veterinary advice.
ZACHARY BINX over-raced in the middle stages.
ZACHARY BINX trotted roughly when improving three wide from the 500 metres.
TROUBLE RIEU commenced to tire rapidly from the 500 metres with the trailing ALL LIT UP being held up. When questioned regarding the performance of TROUBLE RIEU driver S McNally was at a loss to explain the effort. A subsequent veterinary examination of TROUBLE RIEU revealed the gelding to have slow recovery with trainer B White advising he would be having his personal Vet examine TROUBLE RIEU in the coming days and notify Stewards of the findings. Acting on the advice of the on-course Vet TROUBLE RIEU was stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
OTTAWA hung inwards throughout the home straight.
PYRAMID MAGIC was held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
ALL LIT UP had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the run home.
Trainer B White has advised Stewards that TROUBLE RIEU has been sold to overseas interests.
 
Race 6 FAT SALLY'S PUB & RESTAURANT PACE Video  Video 
GAME CHANGER stood on the mark and then broke hampering LAURAGRACE and SONNETSSON. GAME CHANGER was placed on the Unruly for future standing starts.
EDEN FRANCO, BUCKEYE, MICKEY JAY and HOPEFUL HARRIET also broke at the start.
LAURAGRACE and SONNETSSON were hampered by the breaking MICKEY JAY in the early stages.
HOPEFUL HARRIET hung inwards throughout the home straight.
Authorisation of 2nd place being awarded to EDEN FRANCO was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
 
Race 7 PGG WRIGHTSON HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
CANNDEW, DEVIL MAY CARE, THE PERSUADER and JACK HAMMER all broke as the start was effected.
PAY ME VISA broke nearing the 1900 metres causing an inconvenience to GRADUATE UNDER FIRE and DEVIL MAY CARE.
PAY ME VISA again broke near the 1700 metres before settling at the rear of the field.
JACK HAMMER paced roughly rounding the final bend with the trailing THE PERSUADER being held up.
PAY ME VISA was also held up rounding the final bend.
When questioned regarding the performance of DEVIL MAY CARE, Trainer/Driver H Hunter reported that the gelding had lost ground in the early stages when breaking however had been disappointing when struggling to maintain its position three wide behind the improving GRADUATE UNDER FIRE from the 600 metres. Stewards will follow up the recovery of DEVIL MAY CARE in the coming days.
Driver R May admitted a breach of Rule 869(5) in that he allowed JACK HAMMER to trail the sulky wheel of CANNDEW from the 2100 metres until the 1700 metres. After considering submissions on penalty, Mr May was fined $100 by the JCA.
Trainer H Hunter has advised Stewards that DEVIL MAY CARE has been checked by his veterinarian this week with no abnormalities found. Mr Hunter put the disappointing run at Oamaru last weekend down to having no luck in the running which meant that the gelding was too far off the pace. He added that DEVIL MAY CARE is continuing with its original racing programme.
 
Race 8 AMITY LODGE MOTEL JUNIOR DRIVERS TROT Video  Video 
PRECIOUS PET broke as the start was effected checking the trailing YGRITTE.
THE BEST BEG broke near the 1700 metres after striking the wheel of SONEY BEATT which also broke shortly after. Driver K Butt (THE BEST BEG) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly and after hearing submissions on penalty, Miss Butt was fined $350 by the JCA.
JEAN SEBASTIEN trotted in an uneven fashion throughout.
KO WRECTED gave ground rounding the final bend.
BEAR'S REST trotted roughly leaving the final bend and in the home straight when tiring.
Driver T Lethaby (KO WRECTED) was warned for using his whip out of contention.
 
Race 9 CHANGEOVER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GAME CHANGER underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after starting in Race 6 and was cleared to start.
I TRY broke briefly late in the score up and as a result was back slightly at the start.
THATS FINE JULIUS paced roughly near the 1400 metres when becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of CULLER CODED after a slight easing of the pace.
BHAPPY raced four wide from the 800 metres.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT was held up for clear racing room leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
WHOOSH FACTOR hung inwards rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
GIMMEGOLD hung inwards in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
 
Race 10 SOUTHERN WINES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SAILS paced roughly shortly after the start.
STUNIN DUDE over-raced and paced roughly when being restrained in the early stages.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS tired from the 450 metres.
SAILS was held up rounding the final bend.
Driver J Geddes (BUZKIL) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that he used his whip excessively in the home straight. After considering submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Geddes' Horseman's licence from the conclusion of racing on 8 May 2016 up to and including 14 May 2016 (2 days).
