Race 1 PRINTECH AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The track was downgraded to Slushy prior to the running of this event.
There were no claims for OUR SOUTHERN MAN.
A minor infringement notice was issued and a $50 fine imposed on Trainer D Blakemore for presenting ARIZONA EYRE without the required mudguards.
SOUL MAN paced roughly then broke near the 1100 metres and was retired from the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was displaying low grade lameness to the off fore after having pulled a shoe with the performance being noted.
KATE CATERINA was hampered by the breaking SOUL MAN approaching the 1100 metres and lost contact with the body of the field.
OUR SOUTHERN MAN broke approaching the 70 metres when leading and failed to settle. A Protest was lodged against the 2nd placing of OUR SOUTHERN MAN (J Kriechbaumer) under Rule 870(3) on the grounds that this gelding failed to promptly regain its proper gait when galloping over the concluding stages. The Protest was not contested by the connections and the JCA disqualified OUR SOUTHERN MAN from 2nd place.
An information was lodged alleging that Amateur Driver J Kriechbaumer (OUR SOUTHERN MAN) was in breach of Rule 869(3)(a) on the grounds that he drove incompetently over the final stages by failing to immediately take all reasonable steps to return his gelding to its proper gait after galloping near the 70 metres. Mr Kriechbaumer was also charged in the alternative under Rule 870(1) in that he failed to take all reasonable steps to return his gelding to its proper gait after galloping near the 70 metres. The hearing was then adjourned at the request of Mr Kriechbaumer, assisted by Senior Horseman S Abernethy, until a date and time to be fixed.
OUR SOUTHERN MAN underwent a post race examination which revealed no abnormality other than some blood present from the roof of the gelding's mouth.
CELTIC WARRIOR underwent a veterinary examination at the request of connections after performing below expectation which revealed no abnormality.
The adjourned hearing into the alleged breaches of Rule 870(1) or in the alternative 869(3)(a) by Amateur Driver J Kriechbaumer into his drive in Race 1 on OUR SOUTHERN MAN over the concluding stages of the race was re-opened. The particulars of the charges read as follows: 'That Amateur Driver J Kriechbaumer drove incompetently over the final stages by failing to immediately take all reasonable steps to return his gelding to its proper gait after galloping near the 70 metres' or in the alternative 'He failed to immediately take all reasonable steps to return his gelding to its proper gait after galloping near the 70 metres.' Mr Kriechbaumer was assisted at the hearing by senior Driver S Abernethy. The JCA upheld the charge under Rule 869(3)(a), incompetent driving, and his Advanced Amateur Horseman's Licence was suspended up to and including 30 November 2016.

FLASHING GOOD TIME over-raced during the middle stages when trailing the leader.
CLASS MAJOR paced roughly on the final turn.
 
Race 3 HOLMES & Co. CAMBRIDGE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
There were no claims lodged for YALDY BOYZ or KD COMMANDO.
ROYAL WILLIE was slow to begin.
LARCH broke at the start but soon settled.
JOMO reared as the barriers were released but began safely.
ROYAL WILLIE raced three wide for the first 800 metres before obtaining a position three back on the outer in advance of YALDY BOYZ which appeared to lay in and was unable to maintain its position.
YALDY BOYZ broke entering the final straight inconveniencing FRANCO NADAL and SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR.
A minor infringement notice was issued and a fine of $100 imposed on Trainer T Vince for failing to affix the hind bandage on KD COMMANDO so as not to come adrift.
 
Race 4 MITRE 10 MEGA CAMBRIDGE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
KIMANI and WESTWIND FLYER raced three wide over the early and middle stages.
COUNT LANDECK raced four wide early before improving to race outside the leader near the 1000 metres.
TWENTYNINE TWELVE was obliged to race three wide throughout before tiring over the final stages.
CHEQUEME ROSIE and COUNT LANDECK tired over the concluding stages.
TUHERBS TWO contacted several markers in the run home when improving in the passing lane.
A Protest was lodged against the 2nd placing of MEDIA QUEEN (D Ferguson) under Rule 869A(2) on the grounds that MEDIA QUEEN shifted inwards on the final turn and early stages of the run home causing interference to HEZABLUECHIPBOY (S Abernethy). The Protest was upheld and the JCA relegated MEDIA QUEEN to 4th place in behind HEZABLUECHIPBOY.
Junior Driver D Ferguson (MEDIA QUEEN) was charged under 869(4) on the grounds that he allowed MEDIA QUEEN to shift in on the early stages of the run home causing interference to HEZABLUECHIPBOY. The charge was upheld and the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
 
Race 5 PGG WRIGHTSON JUNE 3 KARAKA SALE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The initial score up was aborted at the request of the TAB due to dividends from the previous event not being finalised. The start was further delayed when holding for a greyhound race from Maitland.
SHARDS PHOENIX gave ground over the final stages.
Subsequent to the meeting Trainer T Vince advised Stewards that blood tests taken from SHARDS PHOENIX revealed a tying up problem which has since been treated.

EDEN PAIGE was slow to begin.
ART I SPECIAL broke at the start losing considerable ground before settling at the rear. ART I SPECIAL then gave ground over the final stages.

R GEE THREE was held up when unable to obtain clear racing room in the run home. Driver P Butcher advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners.

There were no claims for AMBRO COURAGE.
MISS DAISY (favourite) was restrained to the rear early before improving three wide with cover from the 700 metres and was then taken out four wide passing the 400 metres but only battled in the run home to finish in 5th place beaten 4.2 lengths.
