Race 1 HYDROFLOW - BISHOPDALE & BUSH INN TABS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
WAIHEMO ART (A Edge), NUI TOC TIEN (S Murtha) and RED UNDER FIRE (G Cook) were all out of position at dispatch with their respective drivers warned to maintain their barrier positions in future.
Racing into the first bend SELESTER shifted inwards and struck the sulky wheel of BILLY JACK with the tyre immediately deflating. Driver S Blake (SELESTER) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly by shifting ground when insufficiently clear of BILLY JACK. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
BILLY JACK was obliged to race three wide through the early stages and paced roughly when negotiating the first bend. This gelding was then retired from the event nearing the 1500 metres after sustaining a second punctured tyre. Stewards questioned drivers A White (BILLY JACK) and B Wilmott (AS KIWI AS) who was trailing BILLY JACK, regarding this incident. After hearing their explanation and viewing the replays, Stewards were unable to apportion blame to either driver and accordingly took the matter no further.
WAIHEMO ART lost ground near the 450 metres after hanging inwards and pacing roughly. This gelding continued to hang inwards and pace roughly throughout the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of WAIHEMO ART revealed the gelding to be suffering from hopple chafe.
RED UNDER FIRE and NUI TOC TIEN were held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Driver S Murtha reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners on NUI TOC TIEN.
FRANCO CALIPH had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
TUFFLITTLEROOSTER ran outwards over the concluding stages.
Stewards opened an investigation into the tactics adopted by Amateur Horseman S Murtha during the running while driving NUI TOC TIEN. A post-race veterinary examination of NUI TOC TIEN revealed no abnormalities.
Driver G Bull admitted a breach of Rule 862(2) in that he allowed KING CYRIL to start from the incorrect barrier position and was fined the sum of $200 by the JCA.
Driver W Low (CIMARRON) will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner he drove in the home straight.
 
Race 2 BRENT COWAN PLUMBERS MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
CUSTODIAN was well out of position at dispatch with a warning placed on the gelding's barrier record.
SUNRISE SPUR was out of position by several lengths at dispatch after trotting roughly.
ONE YANKEE GINGA broke as the start was effected losing its chance.
THEODOSIA broke racing into the first bend.
SOUTH COASTER broke negotiating the first bend.
MIRACLE RISING hung outwards throughout the run home.
THEODOSIA again broke near the 900 metres.
CUSTODIAN hung inwards near the 250 metres placing LIGHTWORKOFIT in restricted room.
CUSTODIAN continued to hang inwards throughout the run home.
MIRACLE RISING drifted outwards in the home straight. Driver G Smith was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
LIGHTWORKOFIT hung inwards over the concluding stages.

KIWI BLOKE raced roughly through the early stages.
FRANCO HAMPTON hung outwards racing into the first bend checking HUMMER BROMAC which broke with the trailing SERENGETI and KING SOLOMON also being hampered. A warning was placed on the racing record of FRANCO HAMPTON.
SERENGETI raced wide in the early stages.
LETSGOTOTHEHOP over-raced when being restrained to take a trail rounding the first bend.
CASINO KING had to be steadied near the 1000 metres after a slight easing of the pace.
KING SOLOMON was obliged to race wide through the early and middle stages.
LETSGOTOTHEHOP broke passing the 750 metres after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of KIWI BLOKE with the trailing LUCKY THREE and FRANCO HAMPTON being hampered.
KIWI BLOKE commenced to tire from the 500 metres causing an inconvenience to LUCKY THREE.
KING SOLOMON broke near the 70 metres and continued in a break for some distance. A protest was lodged under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations against 2nd placing being awarded to KING SOLOMON for galloping in excess of 50 metres over the final stages. After viewing the replays and hearing the evidence the JCA upheld the protest with KING SOLOMON being disqualified.
 
Race 4 DUX INDUSTRIES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
PHIL'S GIFT paced away and had to be checked into its correct gait by driver S Golding.
CLOVER MAC broke shortly after the start with the trailing AILE ROUGE being hampered.
LE LIEVRE'S GIFT broke briefly racing into the first bend.
GALLEONS ROYALE hung outwards from the 2000 metres before hanging inwards near the 1100 metres.
DREAM BIG tired from the 500 metres.
DREAM BIG lost a hind trotting boot passing the 200 metres.
ARRAN CHIEF hung inwards in the home straight before trotting roughly passing the 100 metres.

Trainer R Green was fined the sum of $100 for presenting ALTA INTRIGUE to race with sliding blinds which had not been notified.
JIMMIE paced roughly shortly after the start and was obliged to race three wide through the early stages.
WALL STREET WOLF broke after 150 metres.
VASARI hung inwards racing into the first bend.
MONGOLIAN STORM raced keenly rounding the first bend.
WANTED MAN paced roughly near the 500 metres after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of STOMPEM with the trailing THE KAIK being inconvenienced.
PACING MAJOR was held up for clear racing room near the 300 metres.
THE LONE RANGER was held up leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
VASARI shifted outwards in the early stages of the home straight and came together with MORE THE BETTER for several strides with these two runners again making contact near the 80 metres. Authorisation of 1st placing being awarded to VASARI was withheld until driver M Purdon (MORE THE BETTER) confirmed his chances of finishing ahead of VASARI had not been affected by this contact.
Driver D Butcher (VASARI) will be spoken to regarding the manner in which he drove in the home straight.
 
Race 6 NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES No 38 (Heat 7) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SCOTLYNN MADE hung outwards racing into the first bend.
ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED gave ground from the 500 metres.
 
Race 7 PETER COCKS HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
MAJOR BEN, BET ON A RASCAL, BETTOR LUCK and LAYTONS LASS broke at the start.
CRACKABELLA tangled away.
SMARTER VC was held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 8 CHESTERS PLUMBING & BATHROOM MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
WE'LL MEET AGAIN and INSIGNIFICANT broke in the score up with both runners being back several lengths at the start.
KO WRECTED broke as the start was effected losing ground.
I'M NOT EYRE broke approaching the 1400 metres losing ground. This gelding broke again nearing the 800 metres losing its chance.
KO WRECTED trotted roughly and hung inwards in the run home.
NATIVES LASTING LOVE hung inwards near the 200 metres and had to be steadied when becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of ELLA LAVRA which was shifting ground outwards.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the final stages.
PRECIOUS PET trotted roughly over the concluding stages and broke shortly after the finish.
Authorisation of 4th place being awarded to PRECIOUS PET was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had been in the correct gait as its nose reached the finish line.
Junior driver T Lethaby (KO WRECTED), assisted by Senior Horseman J Abernethy, admitted using his whip excessively in the run home with the JCA imposing a fine of $300.
 
Race 9 PLUMBING WORLD HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
PAY ME VISA, GRADUATE UNDER FIRE, DONEGAL JIMMY DAVE and LEWY RISK broke at the start.
PAY ME VISA paced roughly rounding the first bend and lost ground. Driver R Close reported that the gelding had struck its knee.
NEW YEARS JAY hung inwards rounding the final bend.
DONEGAL JIMMY DAVE and LEWY RISK tired from the 400 metres.
 
Race 10 MICO PLUMBING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GUNPOWDER hung inwards in the score up and was back several lengths at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.
EJA PATRON paced roughly in the early stages.
EJA PATRON, NERIDA FRANCO and IT'S ALL OVER NOW were held up on the final bend by the tiring SAUCHIEHALL.
EJA PATRON broke near the 250 metres when racing keenly after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of SAUCHIEHALL.
BRIDGET BLUE CHIP and AVEROSS BRACHOLE were held up leaving the final bend and in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
When questioned regarding the performance of MIGHTY EMPIRE driver T Chmiel reported that the mare had worked hard in the middle stages to obtain the parked position however had disappointed when placed under pressure.
Junior Horseman S Golding (BURN OFF) will be spoken to in the coming days regarding his use of the whip over the concluding stages.
