Race 1 CRITERION HOTEL & REDWOOD MAIDEN MOBILE PACE Video  Video
MASTER JORDY underwent a pre race vet check and was passed fit to start.
MR MEGABUCKS, REBEL RICHIE, AQUA JETSTREAM and GOLIATH were all back at the start.
PATRICK BEE, when racing three back on the inner, improved to the inside of the trailing SHADOWMAN approaching the winning post on the first occasion near the 1600 metres which resulted in SHADOWMAN having to take evasive action and shift ground out with NGATIRA, which was racing to the outside of SHADOWMAN, being forced wider on the track for a brief distance.
MR MEGABUCKS paced roughly for a short distance near the 1200 metres.
JEDI JOSH paced roughly for a short distance near the 1200 metres.
PATRICK BEE, when racing four back on the inner, improved to the inside of HES FAST AND FURIOUS approaching the 800 metres when there was insufficient room to do so; this resulting in PATRICK BEE having to be firmly restrained and HES FAST AND FURIOUS being inconvenienced. This matter, and that relating to the incident near the 1600 metres, were adjourned to the second day of the meeting on Sunday.
NGATIRA paced roughly and ducked out abruptly near the 200 metres badly hampering SHADOWMAN which lost ground. A warning was placed on the racing manners of NGATIRA.
PATRICK BEE had difficulty obtaining clear running for the majority of the run home.
Stewards today concluded an investigation into PATRICK BEE improving to the inside of the running line near the 1600 metres where Mr D Broadhurst the driver of PATRICK BEE admitted a breach of Rule 869 (4). The particulars being that Mr Broadhurst improved into a run to which he was not entitled which resultantly forced SHADOWMAN and NGATIRA wider on the track. After consideration the Judicial Committee suspended Mr Broadhurst's licence to drive in races from the conclusion of racing today up to and including racing on Sunday 29th April 2016 (4 weeks). In addition Mr Broadhurst was issued with a warning under Rule 869 (4) with respect to the manner he improved to the inside of HES FAST AND FURIOUS passing the 800 metres.

STRAWB'S CHIPPIE was hampered passing the 1500 metres and obliged to race wide thereafter with the gelding then hanging inwards from the 800 metres and giving ground finishing well back.
