Selected horses on today's programme were subjected to pre-race blood testing.
Selected drivers were required to provide a sample of breath for the purpose of Alcohol analysis.
Race 6 was put back five minutes at the request of the TAB due to the delay in the previous race.

Race 4 - DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK PACE
Trainer B Hutton has advised Stewards that following its disappointing performance at Forbury Park last week, FRANCO THOR has recovered well with Mr Hutton being of the opinion that the gelding had choked down. Mr Hutton added that he would be making gear changes and taking FRANCO THOR back to trials before resuming.

Race 1 LONESTAR RICCARTON SIRES STAKES 2YO PRELUDE (MOBILE TROT) Video  Video 
CUSTODIAN made contact with the barrier in the middle stages of the score up trotting roughly for several strides but recovering its position by the start point. This gelding was then inclined to lay inwards throughout the run home.
SOUTHERN ALPS broke shortly after the start and lost considerable ground. In consequence to this MUSCLES GALORE was briefly hampered. Stewards lodged a protest against the 4th placing of SOUTHERN ALPS under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations for breaking in excess of 150 metres over the early stages. The connections did not contest the protest and after viewing the films SOUTHERN ALPS was disqualified by the JCA.
RUTHLESS KAYLA weakened passing the 600 metres and broke briefly. Driver T Quate reported the filly had been striking the sulky wheels throughout.
 
Race 2 BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TAB'S & TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SPECIAL DELIGHT was slow to leave the pre-race circle and in consequence was two lengths out of position at the start. This mare was then awkwardly placed on the sulky wheel of THATS FINE JULIUS nearing the 700 metres.
TUFFLITTLEROOSTER raced wide in the early stages.
FRANCO CALIPH raced roughly for a short distance near the 950 metres after unsuccessfully attempting to ease WAIHEMO ART wider on the track.
CIMARRON was held up on the final bend by the weakening MR MEDDLE.
THATS FINE JULIUS raced inside several track markers throughout the run home. Amateur Horseman P Anderson was cautioned for the manner in which he drove at this stage of the race.
Amateur Horseman B Wilmott advised the removable deafeners on AS KIWI AS failed to activate due to the cord breaking.
GERALD returned to the birdcage with blood present in its mouth. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bitten its tongue.
 
Race 3 RANGIORA MEMBERS TROT Video  Video 
LOOK AHEAD, HEAVENLY LOVE and SUNRISE SPUR broke at the start.
MEDUSA was inconvenienced through the early stages by the breaking HEAVENLY LOVE.
DON PIERRE broke at the start before switching into a pace and having to be checked into a break by driver S Smolenski. This gelding was declared unruly for future standing starts at the request of the connections.
RUSTY I AM broke shortly after the start when avoiding the galloping LOOK AHEAD and again when negotiating the first bend.
BK SUPERSTAR broke after 200 metres and again nearing the 1400 metres.
VENOLA broke racing into the first bend.
ROLLIN THUNDER raced roughly and had to be restrained by driver J Dunn in the early stages of the run home. This gelding then continued to trot roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be placed under any significant pressure.

COBRA BANNER had its bell boots removed prior to the start.
MAKERS MARK raced roughly entering the first bend and lost ground when being steadied.
MICKY GEE broke when improving three wide nearing the 1300 metres.
BAKARI was held up on the final bend.
WANTED MAN raced roughly with 50 metres remaining.
MY WEE MAN had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.

OMIHI EL reared on several occasions behind the barriers causing a delay to the start with Stewards placing a warning on this runner's barrier record.
RED RIVER LOCHEE reared outwards immediately prior to the strands being released severely checking PEMBROOK HARRY with a false start being declared. The pole was removed from RED RIVER LOCHEE prior to the re-start with this gelding being sent to the unruly. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
OMIHI EL and ROCK OF AGES broke at the start.
KIWI ON SHOW broke after 200 metres.
When questioned with regard to the performance of JAY JAYZ BOY driver C DeFilippi advised that after activating the earplugs in the early stages the gelding had raced keenly throughout which he felt may have contributed to its disappointing performance.
 
Race 6 OXFORD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LAVISH LUSTRE was a length out of position at the start due to it breaking in the score up with a warning placed on the mare's barrier record.
MAGICAL MURF hung inwards in the early stages.
MAGICAL MURF raced wide throughout and weakened passing the 400 metres.
DIPTEE BROMAC was held up in the early stages of the run home.
When questioned with regard to the improved performance of the winner EARTHQUAKE trainer S Smolenski advised that at the gelding's last start on the grass surface at Methven, the gelding had struck its knees on the final bend. Mr Smolenski then returned EARTHQUAKE to the trials on an all weather track without the spreaders and noticed a considerable improvement. He added that it was his intention to only race his gelding on all weather tracks.
When questioned with regard to the performance of BEAU SANCY driver J Dunn advised the gelding had over-raced throughout.
 
Race 7 RD1 / FARM SOURCE RANGIORA HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
THE ROYAL GARDEN began awkwardly.
YOUNG MISTER GRACE broke at the start with a warning placed on the gelding's barrier record.
REGENCY FRANCO and THE ROYAL GARDEN were held up in the early stages of the run home.
THE ROYAL GARDEN was again held up over the final stages with driver G Smith advising he had not activated the gelding's deafeners.
 
Race 8 MATT BLAIR MOTORS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
IREBY MEG hung inwards in the early stages.
JANICES CULLEN raced wide in the early stages until reaching the parked position with 1000 metres to run.
SHEZZA GNP broke nearing the 400 metres checking GLENISTHEBETTOR, WESTBURN VISION, RETURNTOROCKNROLL and GOTTA MAMA. The connections of SHEZZA GNP were advised that the filly had been stood down until it can complete one satisfactory trial.
Junior Horsewoman K Blakemore (CRACKARED) in the presence of her employer B Hill, was shown the films and advised to change her whip action.
 
Race 9 PETER SMITH HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
RUTHLESS SUCCESS broke at the start failing to settle for a considerable distance.
KOWHAI MONARCH broke near the 2200 metres.
DIANA HARBOUR broke near the 2100 metres.
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN raced roughly for a short distance near the 800 metres when locking wheels with MISSANDEI.
MISSANDEI was held up through the early stages of the run home.
KOWHAI MONARCH was held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 10 RD1 / FARM SOURCE RANGIORA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SAILS was back out of position at the start and then paced roughly rounding the first bend and again over the final stages.
HOPEFUL HARRIET raced wide in the early stages.
BHAPPY improved wide through the middle stages.
BLINGITON over-raced in the middle stages and was held up throughout the run home and when attempting a marginal run to the inside of CHANGEOVER A FLYIN struck several track markers. Horsewoman S Ottley was warned for the manner in which she drove at this stage of the race.
ROCK N ROLL DELIGHT and HOPEFUL HARRIET were held up in the early stages of the run home with drivers G Smith and R Close advising they did not activate their removable gear.
