Race 4 - PRODIGAL SEELSTER SUMMER OF SPEED MARES SERIES FINAL
Trainer A Stack has advised Stewards that SHEEZA SHARK has been scoped since its disappointing run at Ashburton last weekend and no abnormalities were detected. Mr Stack further advised that the mare has been sold and will do its future racing overseas.

Co-trainer G Knight informed Stewards following the disappointing performance of GIVENTAKE the gelding was scoped and found to have an entrapped epiglottis and will undergo treatment for the ailment.

Race 1 ALABAR SUPER SERIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
VOLENTE and INNOCENT ARTIST were unable to maintain their barrier positions until dispatch.
VOLENTE broke briefly shortly after the start.
FRANCO TEXAS which had improved to the lead broke on the first bend.
VOLENTE broke again with 1300 metres to run losing all chance after over-racing when there was an easing of the pace.
FRANCO TEXAS struck several pylons on the final bend when tiring.
LUCKY THREE was held up rounding the final bend by the tiring FRANCO TEXAS.
BUSTER BRADY hung inwards in the home straight and briefly touched sulky stays with BITE THE BULLET over the concluding stages.
Authorisation of 2nd placing (BUSTER BRADY) and 3rd placing (BITE THE BULLET) was withheld until horseman J Dunn (BITE THE BULLET) had viewed replays of the final stages of the race. After viewing the replays Mr Dunn did not wish to proceed with a protest in relation to this incident.
 
Race 2 TERROR TO LOVE LOUNGE OFFICIALLY OPEN AT ADDINGTON MOB PACE Video  Video 
PEPE BROMAC was slow over the early stages.
NORTHVIEW GAMBLER raced wide over the early stages.
HUG THE WIND over-raced in the middle stages.
PEPE BROMAC hung inwards rounding the final bend.
NORTHVIEW GAMBLER broke passing the 450 metres losing its chance. Driver B Cusdin advised the gelding had struck a knee. The connections were warned to improve the gelding's racing manners.
FIELD MARSHAL lay outwards in the early stages of the run home.
PEPE BROMAC was held up late in the run home.
 
Race 3 MASTER CLEANING HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
ANY OLD WAY underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.
MON RICHIE broke at the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance.
SANTORINI SUNSET raced wide in the early stages.
ANY OLD WAY broke approaching the 2100 metres.
BORDEAUX hung inwards passing the 950 metres.
SANTORINI SUNSET broke with 900 metres to run. When questioned regarding the breaking of SANTORINI SUNSET driver N Williamson advised the gelding had over-raced when BORDEAUX had attempted to cross.
 
Race 4 PGG WRIGHTSON SIRES STAKES 'HARNESS 5000' MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
NEK TIME broke in the score up hindering KOTARE KASAI on its inside with a false start being declared. Driver D Dunn elected to remain in barrier position 3 for the re-start.
Stewards questioned driver D Dunn in relation to the score up when a false start was declared after NEK TIME shifted inwards into barrier 2. Mr Dunn advised that the filly had raced erratically after breaking prior to the turn into the back straight proving difficult to control. A warning was placed on the barrier record of NEK TIME.
In the re-start DREAMY DAMIEN paced roughly in the score up.
KOTARE KASAI and GAME CHANGER were back slightly at the start.
DREAMY DAMIEN hung when racing in the parked position throughout.
OMAR SHARIF hung inwards rounding the final bend.
DREAMY DAMIEN broke passing the 300 metres.
NEK TIME shifted ground outwards in the initial stages of the run home.
NEK TIME again shifted outwards passing the 50 metres touching stays with RR SAND DOLLAR (B Orange).
Driver B Orange viewed the films of the final stages and advised his chances had not been affected.
Driver D Dunn admitted a breach of Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations in that he allowed NEK TIME to shift outwards throughout the home straight and was fined $300 by the JCA.
 
Race 5 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PREMIER MARES CHAMPIONSHIP (MOBILE) Video  Video 
DALNESS XCHANGE which was fractious in the preliminary and fell, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race.
VALOR LUSTRE hung outwards and interfered with the chances of FLYIN HEATHER just prior to release and then continued to hang outwards checking FLYIN HEATHER which broke. After speaking with driver B Butt, Stewards declared FLYIN HEATHER a late scratching pursuant to Rule 213(1)(j).
ROCKER BAND over-raced in the early stages and contacted the wheel of DALNESS XCHANGE passing the 1400 metres. ROCKER BAND continued to over-race for some distance. The connections of ROCKER BAND were warned to improve the racing manners of their mare.
VALOR LUSTRE hung outwards passing the 800 metres and lost momentum. Driver B Orange advised he had difficulty steering the mare during the running. A warning was placed on the racing manners of VALOR LUSTRE.
Driver C DeFilippi (DALNESS XCHANGE) advised he received a punctured sulky wheel at the 1400 metres.
 
Race 6 TELTRAC COMMUNICATIONS LTD SUMMER TROTTING FREE-FOR-ALL(MOB) Video  Video 
ROYAL ASPIRATIONS trotted roughly in the score up and was back off the mobile by several lengths at dispatch.
ROYAL ASPIRATIONS continued to trot roughly in the early stages.
ROYAL ASPIRATIONS raced three wide without cover in the middle stages.
JAG'S INVASION broke with approx 750 metres to run inconveniencing SPRINGBANK SAM.
SPRINGBANK SAM contacted the wheel of ALLEY WAY at the 300 metres after becoming awkwardly placed close to the wheel of ALLEY WAY which was shifted wider on the track by the improving THE EARTH MOVED to its inside. After viewing the films and hearing from driver B Williamson, Mr Williamson was advised to exercise more care in future when shifting ground. When questioned regarding the performance of SPRINGBANK SAM, Mr Williamson advised the gelding had raced keenly and hung on several occasions and in his opinion was better suited to longer distance races.
 
Race 7 PGG WRIGHTSON NZ YEARLING SALES 3YO FILLIES FINAL (MOBILE) Video  Video 
MILLWOOD MAIZIE broke in the score up and was back on the second line at the start.
NORTHERN VELOCITY hung outwards in the score up and was back at the start.
TALKERUP was back at the start on the second line with driver D Dunn warned to make a better effort to be in position at the start.
SCARLETT BANNER raced three wide over the early stages before reaching the parked position with 1200 metres to run.
NORTHERN VELOCITY raced wide from the 700 metres.
ARTFUL was held up in the early stages of the run home.
APASSIONATO (C DeFilippi) broke passing the 100 metres when ARTFUL (J Dunn) shifted ground outwards.
Driver J Dunn defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) with the JCA adjourning the hearing sine die.
When questioned regarding the performance of KILLER QUEEN driver D Butcher advised the filly had felt lethargic throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
When questioned regarding the performance of TALKERUP driver D Dunn advised the filly had sucked wind during the running further adding he was not overly disappointed with the performance.
Driver G Smith (SCARLETT BANNER) advised he had difficulty releasing the off side hopple shortener over the early stages.
Driver M House (SEM'S DELIGHT) will be spoken to regarding the manner in which he drove in the score up in the coming days.
Driver J Dunn (ARTFUL) admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he shifted ground abruptly with approximately 100 metres to run checking APASSIONATO (C DeFilippi). After submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Dunn's Horseman's Licence from the conclusion of racing on 14 February up to and including 17 February 2016. (2 days)
 
Race 8 DAKINS GROUP/ ALABAR SUPER SERIES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
CHIVASION shifted ground out abruptly at the start and then broke over the early stages.
ROYDON'S JEWEL broke over the early stages losing all chance.
HARRIET OF MOT was held up on the final bend.
SPRINGBANK EDEN trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
 
Race 9 UNITED STEEL / METALCRAFT ROOFING SUMMER CUP (MOBILE) Video  Video 
After reaching the lead with 1400 metres to run LOCHARBURN shifted outwards.
MIGHTY FLYING MAC compounded from the 600 metres with a veterinary examination revealing a slow recovery rate.
Near the 250 metres BELKMYSTER hung inwards and placed MAVERICK in restricted room.
Driver D Dunn advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner LOCHARBURN.
 
Race 10 FAHEY FENCE HIRE / ALABAR SUPER SERIES HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
BIRD OF PARADISE, IT'S ALL OVER NOW and BOOSTER broke at the start.
GUNPOWDER broke shortly after the start and raced erratically being retired from the event. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
 
Race 11 PGG WRIGHTSON NZ YEARLING SALES 3YO FILLIES CONSOLATION Video  Video 
ANGEL OF DESTINY was back from the unruly position.
ANGEL OF DESTINY then paced roughly over the early stages when attempting to improve to the lead.
ROCK N ROLL DELIGHT raced greenly and shifted ground abruptly in the home straight and broke leaving the 100 metres.
Authorisation of 4th place being awarded to ROCK N ROLL DELIGHT was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations.
