Race 1 AVON CITY FORD - CAVALIER TROTTING PRODUCTS TROT Video  Video 
REDWOOD INVASION and BODECIA broke at the start.
ABBYS DELIGHT broke after 200 metres.
REDWOOD INVASION ran wide on the bend at the 2000 metres.
ELVIS P broke with 1800 metres to run and again when negotiating the crossing with 1600 metres to run.
ABBYS DELIGHT broke again with 1500 metres to run.
REDWOOD INVASION broke with 400 metres to run inconveniencing the trailing MOTU GREAT SENSATION.
ABBYS DELIGHT and BODECIA broke again with 400 metres to run.
RUSTY I AM broke with 350 metres to run with MOTU GREAT SENSATION again being inconvenienced.
RUM IN THE SUN broke with 100 metres to run.
Driver S Ottley (ELLA LAVRA) reported she received a flat tyre with 1200 metres to run.
Driver M Jones admitted a breach of Rule 869(4) in that he allowed BODECIA to strike the wheel of ELLA LAVRA with 1200 metres to run causing the tyre to deflate. After considering submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
 
Race 2 MOUNT GREY PROPERTIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SELESTER cast a shoe with 1700 metres to run.
CHRISTIAN LADY struck pylons on the home turn.
FRANCO CALIPH and BILLY JACK were both held up on the home turn and in the early stages of the run home.
BOBBY T hung inwards over the concluding stages when racing between CHRISTIAN LADY and FRANCO CALIPH. Despite this horse hanging in, Driver S Golding was reminded of his obligations to drive his runners out to the line when circumstances permit.
 
Race 3 GULLIVER & TYLER LTD PACE Video  Video 
FOUR STARZZZ SPECIAL and HANDSOME HERO broke at the start with a warning placed on the standing start record of HANDSOME HERO.
EXTREME GUEST broke when improving three wide with 1850 metres to run.
FOUR STARZZZ SPECIAL over-raced during the middle stages.
AUTOMATIC hung inwards on the home turn and early in the run home.
FOUR STARZZZ SPECIAL and AUTOMATIC were held up for room over the final stages with driver M Heenan advising he had not activated the removable deafeners on AUTOMATIC.
 
Race 4 FLAIR (CANTERBURY BRANCH) - NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING TROT Video  Video 
TEHORO HOLLY, SHADOW GALLEON and SHPEEDY broke in the early stages.
ALLINEEDISAMIRACLE and GLENIS MARIE broke after being checked by breaking runners at the start.
BK DAWN broke briefly soon after the start before settling and breaking again with 1700 metres to run.
Authorisation of 3rd place being awarded to SHADOW GALLEON was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when in a break over the early stages.
 
Race 5 CANTERBURY BREEDERS (JOAN BELCHER LEGACY) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
On the first bend MAC TODDY shifted inwards abruptly when hanging and struck several pylons with the trailing JANICES CULLEN taking fright, galloping and running outwards causing some inconvenience to DUCKS DELUXE.
MAC TODDY continued to hang through the middle stages.
MAJOR FOUR was held up on the home turn.
When questioned, Driver B Orange was unable to explain the disappointing performance of MAC TODDY. He advised that the stable would contact Stewards if anything was to come to light in coming days that would explain the performance.
 
Race 6 HSW LTD ACCOUNTANTS - PROMED EDGEWARE DOCTORS PACE Video  Video 
TUAPEKA ART broke at the start after running outwards and contacting MOTU LIGHTNING LASS.
PEPE BROMAC was slow to begin from the unruly.
TUAPEKA ART paced roughly with 1700 metres to run.
MARQUIS EYRE paced roughly at the 600 metres after being pushed wider on the track.
PEPE BROMAC was held up for clear racing room in the home straight and went to the line untested.
 
Race 7 COUNTRY FEASTS LTD - RONALD McDONALD HOUSE (SI) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MIDNIGHT FLYER broke in the early stages of the score up but regained its position prior to dispatch.
KACHINA also broke in the score up and was back off the field at dispatch. This horse will be placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
DANIEL THOMAS was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver N Burton. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the gelding.
After 200 metres RED RIVER LOCHEE hung inwards and locked wheels briefly with RED OCTOBER.
VOLENTE was trapped wide round the first bend before progressing to the lead with 1400 metres to run.
BANZIE paced roughly over the concluding stages and broke shortly after the finish.
Stewards withheld authorisation of 1st placing being awarded to BANZIE until they were satisfied that BANZIE had paced over the line.
 
Race 8 RANGIORA EQUINE SERVICES AMBERLEY CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
ROYAL COUNSEL, TANGOS DELIGHT, THE ROYAL GARDEN and CULLECT A GUINNESS broke at the start.
NORTHVIEW GAMBLER broke after 200 metres.
EARTHBOUND commenced to weaken on the home turn inconveniencing NEW YORK TOWN briefly.
Driver J Curtin advised that he was unable to activate the sliding blinds on NEW YORK TOWN due to the cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in good condition.
 
Race 9 DAVIS OGILVIE LTD HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
The start was delayed when the sulky on EXPERIMENT had to be replaced.
ALL LIT UP and WILLIAM LANCE broke at the start.
FREE BIRD broke after 200 metres.
SANTORINI SUNSET broke with 2100 metres to run.
NEVER FEAR was held up in the early stages of the run home.
CLOVER MAC and XMAS JOYELLA were held up throughout the run home.
THE ZIGMEISTER was held up over the concluding stages with driver P Davis advising he did not activate the removable deafeners.
 
Race 10 KEITH USSHER ARCHITECTURE PACE Video  Video 
The start was delayed due to SONNETSSON breaching the tape and FRANCO TAI then rearing with several horses becoming fractious.
The tongue tie on GOING TO CALIFORNIA came adrift prior to the start and as a result the field was reassembled.
GEE JAY EASTER, OMAR SHARIF and GABBY'S STAR broke at the start.
OMAR SHARIF again broke with 1750 metres to run.
Drivers J Cox (MRS BROWN'S BOY), K Butt (TAKE AFTER ME) and R Close (GEE JAY EASTER) all reported that due to being held up in the run home they were unable to activate their removable deafeners.
 
Race 11 DAWE CONTRACTING LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ASHES TO WINGS and DREAMY DAMIEN broke at the start.
DREAMY DAMIEN broke again when negotiating the crossing at the 1600 metres.
CANNDEW over-raced in the early stages.
BETTOR BE SMOOTH was held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
SHANTAHLIA ROMEO hung inwards in the home straight.
Driver R Close dropped both feet from the sulky of IT'S ALL OVER NOW after the seat worked loose in the run home with Mr Close being placed at a disadvantage over the concluding stages.
Authorisation of 3rd placing being awarded to DREAMY DAMIEN was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that this gelding had not breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when in a break over the early stages.
