Race 1 LEVIN WOOLS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
STEADFAST broke at the start losing all chance.
TEHORO HAZEL broke shortly after the start and again on numerous occasions throughout the running. A warning was placed against the racing performance of TEHORO HAZEL.
TORPEDO RUN broke passing the 2100 metres losing considerable ground.
ELI hung outwards throughout the run home and could not be driven out to full advantage.
 
Race 2 BOTTLE-O FEILDING HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
NOTRE DAME broke after 200 metres settling well back. NOTRE DAME broke again near the 1800 metres losing considerable ground and effectively all chance.
THE PRINCE broke near the 300 metres losing several lengths.
Driver S Doody (MASTER MONARCHY) lost the use of his whip passing the 50 metres.
 
Race 3 TRUST HOUSE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
VALMARA broke near the 1600 metres and settled well back.
STRAWB'S CHIPPIE commenced to race fiercely near the 1200 metres being shifted wider to avoid the sulky wheel of GOTTA GO WILD SPIRIT. STRAWB'S CHIPPIE then raced wide when being improved, obtaining a parked position near the 600 metres.
ZARA BROWN commenced to give ground near the 600 metres inconveniencing the trailing GOTTA GO WILD SPIRIT and LOCAL YOKEL. Stewards requested a post race veterinary examination of ZARA BROWN which revealed no abnormalities.
CORDELIA lay inwards through the early stages of the run home. Driver D Butcher reported that despite his efforts the filly had been inclined to lay inwards throughout the run home.
GALLANT had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home going to the line without being fully tested.
VALMARA was held up over the final 100 metres.
 
Race 4 CONNIE STEWART BAYLEYS WAIRARAPA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TENACIOUS BROMAC and SIFTY TUESDAY jostled for positions briefly near the 2200 metres. SIFTY TUESDAY then raced three wide without cover before improving to obtain the parked position near the 1800 metres.
THE CROFTER raced greenly for a distance near the 1200 metres.
COTTONWOOD commenced to over-race near the 1100 metres having to be firmly restrained when becoming awkwardly placed behind SIFTY TUESDAY.
GOTTA TICKET raced wide from the 900 metres.
JACKALACK SUE was held up passing the 800 metres and near the 600 metres became awkwardly placed on the back of GLENDENE when that runner commenced to give ground. GLENDENE was then taken wider passing the 250 metres.
DIAMOND DELIGHT was held up rounding the final bend and near the 150 metres had to be steadied and shifted wider to obtain clear running.
 
Race 5 OSBORNE GROUP CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The start of this race was delayed due to the offside number of RIGHTEOUS ROYALE coming adrift which required adjustment.
LADY MOLLY hung inward and broke entering the first turn effectively losing all chance. A warning was placed against the racing manners record of LADY MOLLY.
RIGHTEOUS ROYALE commenced to give ground near the 400 metres inconveniencing the trailing HERE COMES HELEN which became held up for a short distance.
HERE COMES HELEN had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 6 PGG WRIGHTSON MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JANRON hung inwards racing into the first bend contacting track markers.
BENNYANDTHEJETS over-raced through the middle stages.
MISS BADLANDS paced roughly for a distance near the 1100 metres.
CONTRACTUAL ISSUES raced three wide without cover from the 1100 metres.
BRANDY commenced to give ground near the 400 metres inconveniencing the trailing STARRY DELIGHT.
BENNYANDTHEJETS had difficulty obtaining clear racing room over the final 100 metres.
 
Race 7 LARNOCH STUD WAIRARAPA CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
PRINCESS KATE veered sideways as the start was effected with the mare going into a break for several strides soon after.
STORMY BREEZE and FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ broke for several strides at the start.
DASHING DANE broke at the start, and again near the 2300 metres resulting in the hopple connecting strap coming adrift with the gelding being pulled up by Driver J Abernethy. Stewards inspected this gear where it was found to be in a satisfactory condition.
Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1400 metres when FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ raced three wide. After viewing the replays it was established that PAUL'S VERDICT had shifted outwards to a two wide position prior to FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ reaching the sulky wheel of PAUL'S VERDICT. No further action was deemed necessary.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ hung outwards when pacing roughly near the 700 metres. FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ then commenced to give ground and was not persevered with thereafter. Stewards requested a post race veterinary examination of FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ which revealed a minor respiratory issue. Stewards will follow up the progress of FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ in the coming days.
When questioned regarding the performance if MAJOR CHANGE Driver D Butcher explained that the gelding was under pressure some distance out and in his opinion may not have backed up after competing on the first night.
 
Race 8 WAIRARAPA TRADING COMPANY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SEA MC refused to score up behind the mobile barrier taking no competitive part in the event. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier manners of SEA MC.
GOD'S DELIGHT paced roughly racing into the first bend.
WAIPIPI FALCON raced wide in the early stages and near the 2200 metres broke when being restrained, losing ground. WAIPIPI FALCON then paced roughly near the 2000 metres when awkwardly placed behind FRANCO LENNOX when the pace ahead had eased.
PURE DESIRE paced roughly near the 2000 metres when being shifted wider on the track.
STAGGER LEE balked at several shadows near the 800 metres inconveniencing the trailing ACES N EIGHTS which had to be restrained. This resulted in an easing of the pace and as a consequence the trailing CUT THE CARDS and FRANCO LENNOX broke, with FRANCO LENNOX losing several lengths.
 
Race 9 TUNNELLS TYRE SERVICE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
OUR WICKLOW commenced to over-race in the early stages and near the 2300m metres had to be restrained off the back of GOLDEN BILLION (D Butcher) which resulted in the trailing CHEQUEME ROSIE pacing roughly and coming back on to MEGATRON which was hampered and SICILIAN SECRET which broke. Driver D Butcher was reminded of his obligations when easing the pace to an extent which may inconvenience trailing runners. Stewards on this occasion took into account the racing manners of OUR WICKLOW.
The nearside hopple on SICILIAN SECRET broke whilst in a break near the 2300 metres with the mare being pulled up. Stewards inspected the gear where it was found to be in a satisfactory condition.
CHEQUEME ROSIE was inclined to lay inwards rounding the bends throughout.
JACK BATES was inclined to over-race when outside the leader in the middle stages.
CHEQUEME ROSIE had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
GO FELLA GO was held up rounding the final bend and near the 150 metres brushed a pylon when awkwardly inside the wheel of JERICHO ROAD.
