Race 1 TAURANGA CITIZENS CLUB AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for SPEAK UP or OUR SOUTHERN MAN.
BANORA BOY broke in the early stages of the score-up and trailed the field throughout. A warning was placed against this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
OUR SOUTHERN MAN over-raced in the middle stages when back on the outer.
FLANYATTICE was held up for clear running approaching the 100 metres when attempting to improve between WAR HORSE and BULLY'S ROCKET. Driver D Blakemore (FLANYATTICE) was cautioned for the manner in which he drove in this incident when attempting to improve where there was insufficient room.
WAR HORSE lay out under pressure late in the run home forcing FLANYATTICE out on to BULLY'S ROCKET resulting in FLANYATTICE galloping short of the winning post.
A CHANCE TO DREAM and EASY FOR CULLEN raced three wide throughout.
 
Race 2 WOODLANDS STUD HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
GREY STOKE broke badly at the start and galloped in excess of 200 metres before settling. GREY STOKE was placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the trainer's request.
BROOKSIDE COLT lost contact with the body of the field racing down the back straight.
LUNDQVIST broke near the 300 metres checking DONNA MAY, which also galloped, with both runners losing their chance. A warning was placed against the racing manners of LUNDQVIST.
ONE NIGHT STAND, which had raced without cover outside the leader, commenced to give ground passing the 500 metres to finish at the rear.
 
Race 3 ULTIMATE MOTOR GROUP FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JACKALACK SUE when racing five wide passing the 300 metres hung inward and broke interfering with ELLE CLASSIQUE and LOOKATMEBOYS with all three runners losing their chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of JACKALACK SUE.
SIFTY TUESDAY was held up for clear racing room until inside the last 80 metres.
Driver R Fensom advised that the removable deafeners malfunctioned and did not activate on WIRREANDA PIPER. A Minor Infringement Notice was issued and a $100.00 fine imposed on Trainer P Fensom for incorrectly affixing the removable deafeners on WIRREANDA PIPER.
 
Race 4 R & R TRACTORS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A false start was declared at the first attempt when ANDRA'S COLLECT broke late in the score-up and shifted in checking STAR ELECT. Driver T Mitchell (ANDRA'S COLLECT) elected to retain his allotted barrier position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of ANDRA'S COLLECT.
SMILING TOM broke briefly near the 1400 metres when at the rear after there was an easing of the pace in the one out running line.
ARIZONA EYRE (leader) raced over several track markers on the final turn.
WILL DESIRE broke short of the finishing line in the run home when appearing to shy at the winning post. Authorisation of the 3rd placing of WILL DESIRE was withheld until it was confirmed that the gelding was not lapped on by the 4th placed LIVING BLUE CHIP.
Authorisation of the 2nd placing of ARIZONA EYRE was also withheld to enable Stewards to view the replay of the home turn to ascertain whether ARIZONA EYRE had gained an unfair advantage when racing over several marker pegs. After viewing the replays the Panel were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained that affected the outcome of the race and placings were duly authorised. Driver M McKendry (ARIZONA EYRE) was subsequently cautioned for the manner in which he drove in this incident.
Driver R Downey (ATOMIC FALCON) was cautioned for contacting several marker pegs on the final turn when towards the rear. Mr Downey reported that he had been placed at a disadvantage when unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the release cord breaking. This gear was inspected and found to be in satisfactory order with trainer T Vince deemed not to be at fault.
 
Race 5 SEEKA KIWI FRUIT INDUSTRIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
P TOMADO hung in and then galloped entering the first turn, but soon settled. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
COULD A DUNIT and MAJOR CLASSIC raced three wide from the 1400 metres.
MAJOR CLASSIC shifted in passing the 150 metres momentarily tightening COULD A DUNIT.
FINDING NEMO was held up for clear racing room until inside the final 50 metres with driver M Blakemore reporting that he had not activated the sliding blinds and the removable deafeners as a result.
 
Race 6 STAPLES RODWAY TAURANGA HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
LE LUA INVASION was re-handicapped to barrier 5 off 10 metres following its win at Cambridge on 28 January.
A Minor Infringement Notice was issued and a $50 fine imposed on trainers S McCaffrey and R Paynter for the late notification of a change of driver for LE LUA INVASION from S Phelan to M McKendry.
No claims were lodged for MOMENT OF TRUTH and SILVER STREAM.
COOL SON broke at the start settling towards the rear of the field, and broke again approaching the 400 metres losing its chance.
SILVER STREAM was slow away after galloping for a couple of strides.
ELLA'S SPEED broke 200 metres after the start and again approaching the 1300 metres.
DAUNTLESS broke approaching the first bend and galloped in excess of 200 metres before settling at the rear.
YALDY BOYZ broke under pressure approaching the 150 metres.
An investigation was held into the breaking of ELLA'S SPEED approaching the 1300 metres as this mare broke after there was an easing of the pace in the one out running line after driver J Abernethy (SILVER STREAM) eased the pace after reaching the position outside the leader. Mr Abernethy was shown the replay and reprimanded for the manner in which he drove, along with being advised that a repetition would see further action taken against him.
 
Race 7 RENNERS BAR TAURANGA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHRISTIAN FALCON broke over the early stages losing several lengths before settling at the rear. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
HEZABLUECHIPBOY, which was trailing the leader, jumped the crossing near the 1500 metres but quickly recovered.
HEZABLUECHIPBOY was held up early on the final turn in behind the weakening ACTON TOWN before shifting down to utilize the passing lane inside the 150 metres. HEZABLUECHIPBOY then improved through to reach the lead near the 50 metres, but baulked at the winning post losing momentum to finish in 3rd place beaten a long head.
 
Race 8 GARTSHORE GROUP TAURANGA GRASS CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
MACS CREATION broke at the start and settled towards the rear.
MALOO began badly and trailed the field throughout.
MACS CREATION paced roughly racing over the crossing near the 1500 metres and then galloped before settling at the rear.
THE TRACKER broke for several strides inside the 150 metres.
Driver L Neal (BEYOND THE SILENCE) dropped her left foot from the sulky foot-rest on several occasions in the run home when activating gear.
Driver J Abernethy (GWENDENE) reported that his off-side sulky tyre punctured early in the run home.
 
Race 9 LASER PLUMBING & HEATING TE PUKE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MOULIN BROMAC was fractious early in the score-up, but recovered to take its place at the start.
WAVE SONG hung inward badly in the score-up prior to the start. Driver J Abernethy advised that this mare over-raced in the early stages of the race.
REAL CYCLONE paced roughly and broke with 250 metres to run resulting in KILKEEL LADY and LADY SANTANNA taking evasive action. A warning was placed on the racing manners of REAL CYCLONE.
KIA KAHA (favourite) was restrained to the rear early from its outside barrier draw before attempting to improve three wide from the 700 metres, but was unable to make up much ground to finish in ninth place beaten 7.5 lengths.

NORVIC RUBY was held up over the final stages when unable to secure clear racing room.
