Race 1 SPEEDING SPUR BY PEGASUS SPUR TROT Video  Video 
BEST OF THE BUNCH was very slow to begin from the unruly position.
STRATHSPEY BOY broke at the start.
ROSIE EXPRESS broke approaching the first bend.
EASY MOMENT, MOTU TRENDSETTER, THE TOILER and BEST OF THE BUNCH all broke on the first bend with THE TOILER failing to settle for a considerable distance.
PURE SUCCESS (N Buchan) was checked and broke with 1500 metres to run when DENN NEE NOSE BEST (E Swain) improved to the lead with the trailing STARCOLA being inconvenienced.
STRATHSPEY BOY raced keenly through the middle stages.
EASY MOMENT broke with 1200 metres to run.
PURE SUCCESS broke again with approximately 650 metres to run.
EYRE'S A RAG DOLL broke passing the 300 metres.
Driver E Swain admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) - careless driving - alleging he drove carelessly when improving to the lead and making contact with PURE SUCCESS with 1500 metres to run. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
 
Race 2 ADORE ME IN FOAL TO SWEET LOU 3-YEAR-OLD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
PASS THE SPEIGHTS was back off the gate at the dispatch despite the urgings of driver B McLellan.
PASS THE SPEIGHTS raced three wide without cover until reaching the parked position approaching the 1500 metres.
FEAR XCHANGE paced roughly throughout the event and broke with 500 metres to run.
BETTER GO HURRY, NORTHVIEW BETTA and TACT ROUSEY were all denied racing room on the final bend.
RAKSMACH was held up on the final bend by the tiring TUAS DELIGHT.
NORTHVIEW BETTA became awkwardly placed on the sulky of BETTER GO HURRY with 200 metres to run and had to be restrained.
Near the 160 metres ARTHUR LOWE (K Larsen) which was hanging inwards struck the sulky wheel of MIGHTY FLYING DEAL (D Dunn) which was shifting ground outwards simultaneously. As a result ARTHUR LOWE paced roughly and broke. The Stewards questioned both horsemen K Larsen and D Dunn in relation to this incident with Mr Larsen confirming his horse had lay inwards. Mr Dunn added that MIGHTY FLYING DEAL had shifted ground outwards abruptly when he changed the whip from the right to left hand. After hearing from both horsemen the Stewards were satisfied no one horseman was at fault and no further action was required.
With 100 metres to run MIGHTY FLYING DEAL paced roughly when BETTER GO HURRY shifted ground outwards.
S Walkinshaw reported he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners on TACT ROUSEY.
 
Race 3 CRAZY WOW MILLIONAIRE BY CRAZED HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
VULCAN reared when the tapes were released and lost several lengths as a result.
SPRINGBANK EDEN backed away when the start was made and was slow to begin.
THE BADGER and CIRCUS BOY broke at the start.
BELMONT INVASION broke after 200 metres.
After approximately 400 metres BELMONT INVASION ducked its head and broke.
CIRCUS BOY broke again near the 2300 metres.
POPPYMALDA (Z Butcher) broke near the 350 metres after striking the sulky wheel of MASS INVASION (L Miles) resulting in the sulky tyre on MASS INVASION becoming deflated. Z Butcher admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) - careless driving - alleging he allowed his horse to shift ground inwards and strike the sulky wheel of MASS INVASION causing his own horse to break. After viewing replays and hearing penalty submissions from trainer N Williamson, Z Butcher and the Stewards the JCA imposed a suspension of Mr Butcher's licence to drive from the 30th November 2015 up to and including the 3rd December 2015 (1 day) and a fine of $350.
Stewards questioned horseman D Butcher (TRICK STAR) regarding when he dropped his foot from the sulky footrest near the 2200 metres and placed it on the sulky stays during the running. Mr Butcher explained that he had been unable to adjust the seat any further forward prior to the start and had difficulty maintaining his foot in the footrest throughout the event. After viewing the replays of the race the Stewards accepted the explanation of Mr Butcher.
 
Race 4 SWEET LOU THE 'STALLION OF THE FUTURE' MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BOBBIE'S GIRL (K Barclay) was back off the gate at the dispatch point. Mrs Barclay was warned to ensure she maintains her barrier position behind the mobile prior to the start point.
Shortly after the dispatch LADY'S LASS (T Robertson) broke when it struck the sulky wheel of FINGER IN THE TILL (R McIlwrick) on its inside. Stewards questioned drivers T Robertson and R McIlwrick in relation to LADY'S LASS breaking during this incident. Mr Robertson advised he was restraining back to obtain cover on the back of FINGER IN THE TILL and that FINGER IN THE TILL had shifted outwards which resulted in him striking the sulky wheel of that runner. Mr McIlwrick confirmed that FINGER IN THE TILL had hung outwards shortly after the start. Mr McIlwrick was warned pursuant to Rule 869(4) to ensure he straightens his horse immediately. Mr Robertson was warned pursuant to Rule 869(4) to ensure he exercises care when shifting ground.
SPRINGFIELD CAL NEVA skied its head through the early and middle stages of the race.
ROBYN KIM (S Walkinshaw) hung outwards throughout the run home with CONCORDE DAWN (D Dunn) on its outer having to be steadied approaching the 150 metre mark.
 
Race 5 AMERICAN IDEAL SUPPORTING TRANS TASMAN DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MOTU MOONBEAM was caught three wide without cover over the initial 600 metres before progressing to the lead.
THAT CAT over raced through the middle stages.
With approximately 750 metres to run GEORDIE SIVAD which was improving three wide hung inwards and had to be steadied by driver Z Butcher. As a result the trailing THAT CAT which was over racing struck the back of the sulky of GEORDIE SIVAD causing it to break.
GEORDIE SIVAD gave ground rapidly for the 400 metres. Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination of GEORDIE SIVAD which revealed no clinical abnormalities. Trainer R Faithful advised he would have the gelding scoped and blood tests conducted in the coming days.
With approximately 250 metres to run the helmet on driver A Beck (TUBBY JIM) come adrift. Mr Beck admitted a breach of Rule 847(3) in that drove during the race with the chin strap insecurely fastened and was fined $200 by the JCA.
 
Race 6 ARDEN ROONEY BY BETTOR'S DELIGHT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FRANK THE TANK raced three wide without cover before improving to the parked position with 1700 metres to run.
LAUGHING CAVALIER raced keenly for the majority of the event and had to shift ground on the final bend to obtain clear racing room.
LEOLAS DELIGHT gave ground on the final bend with driver N Williamson advising he had received a punctured sulky tyre. Stewards questioned driver N Williamson and P Ferguson (LITE PLATINUM) who was trailing LEOLAS DELIGHT in relation to the sulky tyre being deflated on LEOLAS DELIGHT. After hearing from both drivers Mr Ferguson was warned for the manner in which he drove and advised to exercise more care in future.
ISOLA BELLA raced keenly while leading for the majority of the race and struck pylons just prior to the home straight when tiring under pressure. When questioned regarding the performance of ISOLA BELLA driver L Justice advised he had difficulty steering the mare. The Stewards will be contacting trainer K Larsen in the upcoming days in relation to the performance of ISOLA BELLA..
WHATA EXCUSE was held up by the tiring LEOLAS DELIGHT on the final bend and was further impeded by SPINNAKER in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 7 SOUTHLAND BRED HIGHVIEW TOMMY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
REGALMAHON (K Manning) which was racing fiercely, was caught wide through the early stages before being restrained to the back of the field with 1400 metres to run.
WHYNOTTAGREY, COMBIEN and RAHURI BADLANDS were unable to obtain racing room on the final bend.
Both COMBIEN and RAHURI BADLANDS raced in restricted room over the early stages of the run home.
RAHURI BADLANDS had to be further restrained sharply near the 150 metres when becoming awkwardly placed behind COMBIEN.
 
Race 8 JOHN DEVLIN MEMORIAL HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
BETTOR'S BRIGADIER broke at the start.
RAINBOW ROMANCE was held up on the final bend.
JANGO FETT hung outwards near the 1100 metre mark.
K Larsen (JANGO FETT) reported he received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
 
Race 9 WOODLANDS STUD SUPPORTING STHN BRED STHN REARED MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A DAMN GOOD EXCUSE skied its head in the score-up and over the early stages.
BLACK ATHENA, A DAMN GOOD EXCUSE and ALL JOKES ASIDE were all back off the gate at the start.
A DAMN GOOD EXCUSE commenced to give ground rapidly from the 500 metres and was not persevered with over the concluding stages. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of the mare which revealed no clinical abnormalities.
