Trainer M Berger advised Stewards in accordance with Rule 403(2)(m) that MALOO (Race 9) had scanned positive at 28 days and would be racing in foal.

Race 1 SCOTT & LYDIA DICKSON RACING STABLES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
ABOVE THE REST broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground.
LITTLE BRO (Favourite) broke approaching the 2000 metres losing considerable ground.
EYE WISH (S Dickson) shifted out passing the 2000 metres contacting the off-side sulky wheel of IMNOTQUITESURE and then broke for a short distance forcing BIM BOM BAY to take evasive action. Driver S Dickson admitted a resultant breach of Rule 869(4). After hearing submissions as to penalty the Judicial Committee imposed a fine of $150.
CHILTONS VOCATION broke near the 1700 metres losing several lengths before settling.
EYE WISH broke near the 800 metres.
TORPEDO RUN broke near the 750 metres losing considerable ground.
LADY J broke near the 400 metres losing its chance.
 
Race 2 STEWARTS MITRE 10 MEGA PALMERSTON NORTH MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JUSTOCLASSIE was back out of position at dispatch after pacing roughly early in the score-up.
CONTRACTUAL ISSUES was slightly out of position at the start after being slow in the early stages of the score-up.
CONTRACTUAL ISSUES paced roughly near the 1600 metres when being restrained off the back of PAY ME SUSH due to the pace in the one out running line easing.
ATOM HANOVER over-raced during the middle stages when three back on the outer.
REAL TRICKY gave ground over the final stages.
JUSTOCLASSIE was held up over the final stages when unable to obtain clear running.
When questioned regarding the performance of ATOM HANOVER, driver D Dunn advised Stewards that over-racing during the early and middle stages had taken its toll with the horse failing to run on.
V C DELL was removed from the unruly position for future mobile starts.
 
Race 3 OUTBACK TRADING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
COTTONWOOD broke in the early stages of the score-up being back out of position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners.
THE DECIDER broke in the latter stages of the score-up and was back from position at the start. A warning was placed on this mare's mobile barrier manners.
PURE DESIRE tended to lay out racing down the back straight the final time and then paced roughly for a stride approaching the 500 metres.
 
Race 4 NEW CENTRAL MOTOR INN WOODVILLE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
A false start was declared at the first attempt when the 20 metre tape failed to release.
THE PRINCE broke approaching the first turn and settled at the rear.
COLONEL KLINK was held up early on the final turn behind the weakening ROCKY SIX.
 
Race 5 BILL BOYD & ASSOCIATES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JANRON tended to lay in on the first turn when racing three wide. JANRON then worked forward to lead near the 1500 metres but was under pressure on the final turn and failed to run on finishing in eighth place beaten 10.9 lengths. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering signs of a poor recovery.
KIA KAHA paced roughly rounding the final bend losing several lengths.
TABELLA JET was held up on the final turn in behind the weakening JANRON and then failed to obtain clear racing room in the run home.
Driver A Donnelly advised Stewards that SIFTY TUESDAY had pulled a flat tyre from inside the 600 metres.
 
Race 6 ALLAN MCNEILL ACCOUNTANCY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BETTOR BACKIM broke for several strides early in the score-up but soon settled.
WAVE SONG tended to over-race over the early and middle stages with a moderate tempo.
SHARDS PHOENIX over-raced during the middle stages when outside the leader.
ALL THAT GLITTERS broke passing the 700 metres and settled at the rear. An information was lodged charging junior driver A Poutama (ALL THAT GLITTERS) on the grounds that he drove in a manner which caused interference to his own horse when attempting to shift BIG BAD JOHN wider on the track near the 700 metres. Mr Poutama admitted the breach and after hearing submissions as to penalty the JCA suspended his junior driver's Licence from the completion of racing on the 29th of November 2015 up to and including the 4th of December 2015 (two meetings).
WAVE SONG paced roughly throughout the run home.
 
Race 7 WOODLANDS STUD FILLIES & MARES MILE (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
A false start was declared at the first attempt when MILLWOOD LANOCH broke late in the score-up checking KILKEEL LADY. Driver J Abernethy (MILLWOOD LANOCH) elected to retain his barrier two position for the next attempt. MILLWOOD LANOCH was declared unruly for future mobiles.
MILLWOOD LANOCH was marginally back from position at dispatch.
MOLLY SIMS and KILKEEL LADY momentarily locked sulky wheels passing the 700 metres.
ALTA MICHAELA tired over the final stages.
MOLLY SIMS paced roughly entering the final straight.
 
Race 8 CARTOWN PALMERSTON NORTH MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SANTANNA MAGIC broke entering the first turn and settled at the rear. A final warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners. SANTANNA MAGIC was placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
 
Race 9 MANAWATU ITM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GABBY'S KNIGHT commenced to give ground passing the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed against the gelding's racing performance.
SCANRECO BAY hung in badly on the final turn and was then held up in the early stages of the run home when unable to obtain clear racing room.
BRAINSTORMER was unable to obtain clear running over the final stages.
When questioned, driver D Dunn confirmed that SCANRECO BAY had hung in badly rounding the final bend and he was unable to improve out from the one out running line. Mr Dunn further added that the gelding had not handled the track this evening and would be suggesting gear changes to the connections for the second day.
 
Race 10 QUIZ NIGHT SATURDAY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HE'S NOVAK and SHAPEOFTHINGSTOCOME were both back from position at dispatch with drivers A Donnelly and B Taylor both receiving warnings to maintain their mobile barrier positions.
OK MARA after being fractious prior to scoring up paced roughly and was back out of position at the start. OK MARA continued to pace roughly over the early stages.
DAZ MCBROMAC broke racing towards the first bend settling quickly.
DAZ MCBROMAC broke entering the front straight on the first occasion and settled at the rear. This gelding then paced roughly down the back the last time and broke on the final bend when at the rear. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
OK MARA (Favourite) worked forward to lead before being retired from the event after 500 metres due to a middle hopple carrier coming adrift. Trainer M House was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice in relation to this incident and fined $100.
