| Horseman B. Mangos (IDLE BONES) dropped his right foot from the sulky footrest on the final turn. He advised the mare was hanging rounding the final bend and that he dropped his foot in an attempt to shift his sulky away from the marker line. His explanation was accepted, however, he was reminded of his obligations. He also advised that his whip became entangled in the tail when he was attempting to drive IDLE BONES out and he dropped it passing the 100 metres. | |

| RIVER EMPEROR was caught three wide early, progressed forward in an attempt to reach the lead with 2000 metres to run then was eased to race one out without cover at the 1900 metres. The gelding was inclined to race keenly in this position and weakened in the back straight the last time finishing well back. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. | |
