General
D Dunn contacted Stewards to advise he would not be on course in time to fulfil his diving engagements for the first three races. Due to the high winds affecting traffic flow Mr Dunn then also had to be replaced in Race 4 with all changes listed in the summary below. Stewards issued Mr Dunn with a charge under Rule 507(1) in that he had broken his first three driving engagements with a fine of $200 imposed by the JCA.
Due to the strong winds prevailing, penalties were not recorded against horses that broke during the running.
After the running of Race 4 Stewards met with Drivers, Trainers and Club representatives due to the high winds and assessed the continuation of the meeting. It was decided that due to some concerns around the safety of horses and drivers the meeting be put back one race with Race 5 re-scheduled to start at 3.10pm.
Due to the mobile being damaged by the wind it was unable to be used past Race 5. Races 6, 8 and 10 were started by way of a moving start.

CALLENBERG improved wide from the 1400 metres and hung inwards on the bend near the 1100 metres. J Dunn was questioned regarding CALLENBERG shifting wide at this time. Mr Dunn advised that he had lost ground behind JERRY GARCIA due to his horse hanging, this had created a vacant position for VERDUN to improve outwards into. In attempting to prevent this Mr Dunn had encouraged his horse forwards but been too late in attempting to secure that position and had to shift outwards when steadying. He said he then tried to shift back into the two wide line but his position had then been taken by the over-racing SMOKEN ROMAN so he had been left with little option but to allow his runner to improve forwards.
JERRY GARCIA had to be steadied passing the 600 metres when placed in restricted racing room by CALLENBERG which was shifting down the track. Driver J Dunn was issued with a warning.

Stewards questioned J Dunn (REAL COOL DUDE) regarding his decision to shift away from the back of the leading MY BABY'S LAUGHING near the 900 metres to race in a parked position.
