Auckland TC - Friday, 14th August 2015
BETTABE PERFECT lost contact with the field with 1200 metres to run and was eventually pulled up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before this horse resumes.
A veterinary certificate of fitness was supplied for BETTABE PERFECT a starter in Race 2. It stated that subsequent examination the next day (15/8/15) showed the horse had converted to a normal sinus rhythm. A further examination after fast work on 25 August showed the horse to still have a normal sinus rhythm of the heart and an ECG trace was normal and on that basis the horse is fit to start tonight.

Driver D Dunn (CHRISTY MAGUIRE) was questioned in relation to the manner in which he had driven leaving the back straight the final time and as to whether he would have been better served to have shifted out to a three wide position to obtain clear running prior to CULINARY DELIGHT improving to his outside. Mr Dunn stated that CHRISTY MAGUIRE had paced roughly passing the 1300 metres when inclined to lay in and that it had been his intention to shift out to a three wide position as CULINARY DELIGHT improved to his outer approaching the 500 metres, but CHRISTY MAGUIRE had laid in again so he had little option other than to remain on the back of HARTOFDIXIE.
